I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and yesterday I finally did. I tried the 1/2 dark jerk chicken, and it came with red beans and rice and mac & cheese. The chicken was really good, I did not add the extra jerk sauce because it already had enough spice. It was cooked perfectly, and very flavorful. I didn't really like the rice and beans a lot. This place caught my eye as I was headed to Subway. The girl behind the counter was very nice and helped me out with the menu. After paying she mentioned a 20 minute wait. Slow as methuselah, you walk in, there is a line, no one at the desk, I guess they are in the back preparing food. Even when they come out they don't recognize the customers by saying hold on I will be right with you. Slow even if you call in an order. I'm not impressed. read more

We came across this place by accident because our normal Jerk Chicken spot for lunch was closed. I was not impressed at all. This is not a make to order place. It was mediocre. No flavor. We got the Jerk Chicken Dinner (mixed) and the Jerk Rib Tips, both with cabbage & yams. The jerk sauce was very mild, no kick to it. The rib tips had zero flavor. I don't think they seasoned it at all. The cabbage and yams were good. But overall my meal was okay. Definitely would not go back. The staff was friendly and the service was very fast, so I did give them a star for that. I found this on yelp and read the reviews, not sure if this is under new management or new cook? The catfish was a tad overdone, but the seasoning was excellent; coupled with the carrots, sweet peppers, onions & garlic, I wanted to order an extra helping for the next day. It's hard to find good Caribbean flavors a lot of places are too heavy on salt, or spice & I really appreciate finding an establishment that can work a little magic with a scotch bonnet pepper. This spot is a ripoff!!! My husband stop there today and ordered me an oxtail lunch special. His total was $19.85. While waiting on the order he noticed that the menu says the price is $14 + tax. When he asked why he was told that the menus were old and hadn't been corrected. How? They made some corrections by hand on the menu. Why didn't they correct that? Times are harder now. The food was amazing. I was absolutely surprised. The only reason I didn't give 5 Stats is because the prices on the menu don't match what they'll charge. The honesty need to invest in updated menu's because that does leave you wondering if someone's pocketing what you're being overcharged. The customers that are recommending people to try the food shouldn't have to warn future customers about the sudden increase. Make it look like another black business on some scheming mess.
