It was his first foray into wedding planning and he really delivered. we were married at Thornewood castle, and it was perfect working with Jerome because he has long been one of their preferred vendors, so they seemed to go out of their way to meet all his requests. Jerome has been a wedding photographer in the Seattle area for 20 years, so he also had amazing, long-standing connections with all the other vendors and venues. There were so many things I would have known nothing about, but he had all the ins! There is nobody I would recommend more highly than Jerome Tso for photography and wedding planning. We had Jerome do our engagement pictures and wedding pictures. We did couple locations for the engagement pictures which were fun. Jerome is very professional but wants to make you feel comfortable. The shots came out great all through and through. I think that Jerome's weaker point is that he doesn't capture as many of the candid moments. Other than that, the price was in the middle price range compare to other photographers. He does get booked quite a bit in the summer so make sure you book him far in advance. read more

Jerome did our engagement and wedding pictures and we are SO happy with them! I couldn't imagine having better pictures to remember your special day with. The whole experience was a very good one. Jerome is very professional AND very personable (easy to get along with and listens very well to what YOU want your pictures to look like). He knows exactly what he is doing and does it very well. Jerome's work is simply amazing, and he's a really nice guy to boot! I agonized over wedding photographers for quite some time, but when I stumbled upon his site through The Knot, then met him in person for a consultation, I knew I'd found the right guy. He's personable, easy to work with, and incredibly creative and talented. We paid for an engagement shoot several months prior to the wedding, and about six hours of wedding day photography. Our package included discs with all our photos, as well as the rights to the photos, and about 100 4x6 prints from the wedding. It was a fantastic deal--all within our budget. We're not photogenic people, but Jerome did an excellent job making us feel comfortable and guiding us through what to do in front of the camera. He made us look great--our photos are incredibly beautiful and I can't wait to frame them. During the ceremony and reception, I barely noticed Jerome--he was unobtrusive but always there to get the shot! He captured many great candid shots of us and our friends and family. Combined with our posed shots, it was exactly what we wanted. He also made some incredibly creative, artistic photos with the great sunset that day, and some with neat backlighting and long shutter speeds. I'm not sure we made a better decision during our wedding planning process than booking Jerome as our photographer for our wedding. Our booking included a 3-hour engagement shoot and two photographers for our entire wedding day and we couldn't be happier. Our engagement shoot was a 3-hour shoot at 3 different locations around the Tacoma, WA waterfront. Throughout the entire shoot Jerome made us feel extremely comfortable, which was a blessing in itself. When we got the photos from our engagement shoot we were blown away. We selected our favorite photos from the engagement shoot and Jerome made our wedding guestbook, which was extremely high quality and is happily displayed in our living room. When our wedding day rolled away we were so happy to have Jerome there, knowing that we wouldn't have any problems or issues coming from our photographer. We took pictures before our ceremony and Jerome led the two of us and the 15 people in our wedding party around Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle and different locations at our venue, the Arctic Club. Jerome stayed for the entire night and it seemed that every time we saw a great moment, Jerome was already there capturing it on film. When we got our pictures, it took us an hour and a half to just click through all of them. The quality of the pictures were amazing and the creativity and "eye" that Jerome brought to the photographs was beyond what we had imagined. Multiple friends commented that some of our pictures looked like they belonged on movie posters! Overall, we couldn't be happier with the work that Jerome did for us, but beyond that, he also made us feel comfortable and at ease on our wedding day. I don't see how it would be possible for someone to do a better job and we when met with him to pick up our final prints and digital copies,it was hard to say goodbye! I can't even begin to express my appreciation and gratitude to Jerome and team. My husband and I hired him to capture our July 31st wedding. He did an absolutely incredible job and I couldn't be happier with our gorgeous pictures! I have known Jerome professionally for a while as I used to be a planner in Seattle. I always appreciated his flexibility and incredible eye. My clients were always thrilled with their pictures so I knew that he was the right person for the job. Although I was familiar with his style, I was blown away by how incredible our pictures are. This guy did a friend's wedding and engagement photos. He did 'fake' candid photos by telling the bridesmaids to pretend that they were helping the bride, directing the wedding party to talk about whatever while they walked, etc. A lot of photographers do that, but I don't think as heavily. There were many heartfelt moments (opportunities) for candid takes (such as when her grandmother was congratulating her), but he didn't seem to be searching for "real" moments. Some of his directions were vague and always required extra clarification when it was a group he was dealing with "Stand beside the bride. No the other side." And on and on. The dumbest direction was for the bridesmaids to stand with their noses "equidistant" to his. Is it that hard to say "stand in a straight line"?? He could never give a concise direction, and seemed to just waste time for the people in the photo to keep moving around. He focuses mainly on the bride, to the point that I (and another bridesmaid) felt sorry for the groom based on the engagement photos, for which I've seen 500 pictures of. Most of them featured her so much, that it felt like the groom was an accessory. His posed pictures are okay, but don't go to this guy if you want someone to capture a real moment. Aren't those the only ones that matter? Save this guy for studio work. Edit: I was thinking about how maybe this review is a little callous, but it's honest so I didn't change anything about the original review. What I do want to add, is that I have very little experience with weddings, and being around this photographer taught me what I don't want at my wedding: lots and lots of posed photos. I'd rather have the photos serve as a documentary to a fun time rather than a pretty album. And for the photographers to capture things that I miss in the chaos of it all. So I guess ask those important questions when you're seeking a photographer. To be fair, some of his pictures are nice, and my friend is pretty happy with this guy, though I would never hire or recommend him for my purposes. I think doing a small session or engagement session beforehand with any photographer is a good idea to see not only how the photos turn out, but how their working style/approach and personality affects (helps or hinders) your experience. read more

If you're looking for a photographer - look no more. Jerome is a pleasure to work with, but all of the pleasure comes when you see the amazing and artful photos he took of your event. We had a budget to work with, and he accomodated that beautifully. He made our entire wedding experience so stress-free... we didn't even realize until the day after the wedding that our "loop around the lake" was because the DJ was 2 hours late (we thought it was a nice photo op with our horse-drawn carriage!) Oh, and it also POURED. I guess that's good luck - but he made magic with photographs including umbrellas and captivating shots that made me so glad it rained!!! :) We now use him for our anniversary photo shoots, because we just can't seem to let him go. My friend, who got married close to our wedding date, waited MONTHS for her photos - we got ours so fast. We look at them constantly, and have gotten so many great compliments - I have turned all my friends on to him as well. By far, hiring Jerome the best wedding decision we made. Please let me make clear that Jerome is AWESOME!!! I found Jerome through many many google searches and research through wedding wire and the knot...and once I saw his portfolio, I knew that he was exactly the photographer I wanted for my wedding! My husband and I hired Jerome to do our wedding photos and were so pleased with his work. We shopped a lot while looking for a photographer, and Jerome offered what we thought was the best value out there. On our wedding day, he personally escorted us around town to beautiful locations he had previously picked out, so we didn't have to stress about this extra detail. We discussed the style of photography we wanted with him beforehand (candid unposed shots mostly) and he did an amazing job of capturing such shots. He was professional yet friendly and personal, so we felt really comfortable with him, which I think made the pictures turn out better. We were also very happy with how quickly he got our photos to us after the wedding. I've heard of friends having to wait for up to a year to get their wedding pictures back, which sounds like a nightmare. Jerome got our prints to us within a couple of weeks, complete with a beautiful album of some of the best photos. We couldn't have been happier with his work! His videographer did excellent work as well. We've shown our wedding video a bunch of times to friends and family. It turned out so perfect. We did a lot of internet searching before we found Jerome, and we're so glad we found him! We decided to work with Jerome after looking through his portfolio and realizing that these weren't your average stock wedding photos he was producing, these were pieces of art. Jerome has been great to work with in the months leading up to our wedding (actually, we booked him about a year and a half out, just so we could make sure we got him, and because I was a little planning crazy). He put together a custom package for us, answered all of our questions, put together a day-of itinerary, put up with some opinionated relatives, and came up with some beautifully creative shots. Jerome and his assistant arrived in my hotel room at 7:45am and stayed with us until about 7 or 8pm. They went with us to many locations, took TONS of photos and were really great to work with. Jerome even showed us one picture he took on the screen of his camera--no editing, no retouching, just right after he took it--and it was AMAZING. We have to wait another 5 weeks or so before we actually get our photos, but we can tell already that they're going to be amazing. My sister, who got married 2 years ago, even lamented not choosing a photographer as creative as Jerome. He even seriously contemplated jumping over a stream to get the right angle for a photo he had in mind. We're glad he didn't though. As wonderful as that photo probably would have been, I'm pretty sure that stream was just wide enough that he would have fallen in. We really appreciated his willingness to take the risk for the shot though! Now, wedding photography isn't cheap, and Jerome is no exception. But remember, you get what you pay for. Our photography actually took up the largest single chunk of our budget, and we have no regrets about that. These are going to be the lasting memories we have. The wedding day goes by so quickly and it's so easy to miss it as the bride and groom, but these photos will be our reminders. We can't wait to see them! read more
