Using YELP I received about 8 responses (quotes) to remove a huge tree in my neighbors yard. She and we, had agreed that it was time to cut this massive tree down. The roots had started to invade plumbing on our side as well as drains. I was tasked with locating a company. After sending out photos of the tree, I got quotes as high as $1200 and as low as $550. Naturally, I went with Jerry D's as he came in at $550. We set a date for him to start and all the details were laid out. Because my neighbor would be out of town during this project, I made sure that Jerry understood a few very important details. For example: Cut the tree down with care and concern for everything surrounding it, meaning my lamp post adjacent to her yard, her grass and sprinkler system, her cars, and her property, etc. Jerry used much caution while working. He covered up the sprinkler system and loaded and hauled away debris as he cut. This was not just any tree. It was a massive (4 feet plus at the trunk) weeping willow that had to be at least 20 years old. Now, with most of the tree cut down and gone, Jerry showed up on the last 2 days to grind the stump and sever the roots attached to the tree stump. To do this, he must rent special equipment. This portion of the project took hours to accomplish. It sounds like a pressure washer while it is running. He continuously goes over the stump and pretty much mulches it into wood chips. A large hole is dug in the same process. I am told that this tree is dead as are the roots. All this was done in the dead of summer when temps reached 100 degrees. Jerry and his partner worked diligently throughout the whole time. In the last hours he offered to blow any existing debris on both properties. Cleanup was excellent. You almost can't tell the tree was ever there except a large brown patch of dirt. Caution: Be prepared to send photos and measurements of your tree, especially the trunk, as best as you can. Our bid went up $200 on day 1. Since my neighbor and us were splitting the cost, it wasn't a huge amount. All in all, this man was worth the wait and I feel he saved us a ton of money. 5 STARS for Jerry D and his partner! read more

Jerry and his crew showed up and helped me get rid of the ficus tree that simply could not continue to grow where it was. With my plans to plant another tree in its place, the stump also had to come out, but a grinder could not easily fit into the location where the tree was. Jerry's crew worked hard, even in hot weather, to manually remove the stump and roots so that the area was properly prepared for the next tree. We have had Jerry complete a few projects for us. He has trimmed our palm trees, he has planted palm trees, he has installed a brand new drip line, installed rock landscapping, and most recently installed artificial turf for us. These were done as separate projects. We have called him back and will continue to call him back to do more projects for us. We are extremely happy with the work he has done. Jerry D's Tree and lawn service did an amazing job!!!! They were recommended to me by a friend since the other person that I used was booked out for months. I have a lot of trees and palm trees which were filled with the black seeds and palm oil nuts. They were falling on the ground and in my pool so many times a day, that I couldn't keep up with sweeping them off the ground. I called Jerry and left a message and he called me back immediately and was able to come out within that week to give me a quote. He knew that I wanted it done as soon as possible and he was able to schedule me the next week. His crew came out and did an excellent job! My front and backyard is cleaner than before they started. We had hired Jerry for his knowledge and unbeatable prices. Now, we understand why and we regret our decision to go with him for irrigation and to lay sod (can't speak of his tree trimming as we did not need this service). All started off well with communication and his portrayal of expertise. We were told that we would have in-ground valves with the expectation we'd have perfect green grass. Irrigation took longer than expected with long breaks taken. We weren't concerned as we're not the experts and thought everything was on schedule. We had sod delivered on the date Jerry specified and ultimately it had sat out two days drying out. Once laid, some parts looked dead already and were told to water for a specific interval and we listened to him to get the grass looking great. This caused the grass to be overwatered and to be overrun with fungus. Jerry replaced some of the sod and seeded some leaving some completely dead strips in other places. The side of the house were the valves are completely above ground with several issues of the wiring not connected to the wireless controller and our front yard was disconnected causing part of our drought tolerant front to die. The front is still not connected and Jerry has stopped responding to all attempts to reconnect our front yard and we have given up hope that our back would be green and healthy as promised. If you want cheap, shotty work, then go with Jerry, otherwise please go with someone with more experience. Do not recommend. read more
