It is about 1/2 mile walk through a very serene neighborhood. It's clean and fresh atmosphere with play equipments , climbing rock sculptures, a stone bear in a sandbox and picnic tables. The creek offers a burbling sound while traveling along the beds over rocks and tree roots. A lot of trees surrounding the park give the park a feeling of a rain forest. A Tepee jungle gym and a canoe offer a make believe Indian scene plus a full size sculptured bear lurking steadily on a sandbox. Stand up Hoops that serve as water sprinkler with a push button during the hot summer months for fun.

Plenty of parking whether you park in the lot or along the road. It gets quite busy as a number of kids extracurricular activities happen here on evenings and over the weekend. I like coming here to walk with our pup, as there's plenty of grass and space to sniff. Some other dogs we see are off leash, but most people we see are good about keeping their dogs on leash. There are plenty of trees along the park, and a cute path that leads to the neighborhood further up the street. Also, the grounds are kept quite clean, and I seldom see any litter on the ground. Definitely appreciate people keeping our local park clean!

There's at least 3 play structures for all age groups up to 12 years old, plus a…read morepretty decent bouldering (rock climbing) wall, a tall swingset, a tire swing, a pretty good size sandbox with a rock feature in the middle, a medium size grassy area, and an easy-to-miss paved bike track for the tikes that circles half of the whole playground. Two tiny picnic tables are under a partly shaded canopy. Benches are dispersed throughout. When we went, there were ample porta-potties and portable hand-wash basins just outside the fences, and there are permanent bathrooms at the tennis courts nearby. Besides the fenced-in playground, there's a larger park with ample grassy areas, tennis courts, a baseball field, I think a soccer field, picnic tables with barbecue (BBQ) pits, and a small pond with a walking path around it. There's ample parking for cars and a couple of bike racks too. If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!

Once you park in the large parking lot, it's just a few steps to the side of the Creek. It's a large creek with a lovely view of the landscape and a short trail that runs parallel to the lake.

I had never been to this park before my business, Picnic Potential LLC , was hired to set up a Mothers Day brunch and it is a great location. The picnic area is nicely shaded, plenty of garbages and it is clean! The people in the park were friendly families they have nice clean bathrooms and a cute playground. I will definitely be referring this location to my picnic clients.

I admit however, it was a bit odd that when I arrived, the "forrest" was about 1 block long. It's literally a bunch of trees in the middle of suburbia which I'm not complaining about, but it just caught me off guard. For those that need or want shade, this is the perfect place. More shaded areas in this playground than I've ever been to at any other spot. This place is littered with trees all super tall. Safety is all about access and the perimeter. The backside is surrounded by a tiny river. Frontside is surrounded by a wood fence which is quite fitting for the environment. Yes, there's a bathroom. Nice that the play structures are separated into a few play areas. This is good for separating children of different ages, but also keeps it from getting too crowded. Picnic benches too. Very nice "feel", that I can't quite explain that I've never felt at any other park. Truly a unique place. It may seem odd that the play structures are metal amidst nature, but the colors and design still go well with the environment. Funny that one of the play structures mimics a treehouse. Mulch everywhere which is great. Sand is so 1900's. Although parking wasn't tough, I think I got lucky. The street leading to this place is quite narrow. You'll find yourself taking turns w/folks coming towards you in the opposite direction b/c the street is just that narrow. This place is definitely worth visiting despite what could be a challenge with the parking situation.

Can't have some strange animal for example just coming up and invading a kid's soccer game. That wouldn't be good. If you have to keep on saying to people that your mutt is friendly then perhaps you need some reflection and a moment of skepticism there. Wouldn't say that a lot of the folk who go here are particularly friendly. Had an awkward guy come up asking about covid restrictions as if he was soap boxing or politicizing about something ...huh? Come on. This is just a park. However, yes, you do get a good view and there's volleyball, though not sure if you can just join or if there's a lesson arrangement or something, would happily do that. Unfortunately, the city is pushing a large scale affordable housing development project which is being fast-tracked by donating public land. Affordable housing is a laudable goal but not at the expense of ruining this heavenly park. If, God forbids, the project comes to pass the adverse consequences will haunt us for generations to come. How amazing and quaint Marin truly is. Enter Hauke Park: located close-by to lots of apartments, condos, and homes, this local park has loads of green and lots of water nearby. Pretty pocket of neighborhood. Gentle sloping hill street to the north of it, this has to be a very popular spot when the sun sets a little later daily, and when the bite of the winter evening slowly starts to depart..... So nice a find.
