*Updated Review* In my previous review I was talking about how great the staff were during reservations but now the event has taken place and I am an even bigger fan. I had never been to this park before my business, Picnic Potential LLC , was hired to set up a Mothers Day brunch and it is a great location. The picnic area is nicely shaded, plenty of garbages and it is clean! The people in the park were friendly families they have nice clean bathrooms and a cute playground. I will definitely be referring this location to my picnic clients. read more

Five fabulous public tennis courts and a practice box. Very nice and qualified instructor Frank for lessons. Family friendly environment with kid's playground. Boyle Park is a first class place to play tennis. read more

This is a great park, and me and my family have fun there often. The playground is great and the field is huge, but there is one issue. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting! It is like they are hardly maintained. There is no room in them either, so you have to wait a long time on a busy day to go. The parking lot also has limited space, as you will also have to park far away if you drove there. Other then that, it is a great spot! read more

Great park, we found it among our route when we ordered food to go and wanted a place to sit and eat. The grassy area was nice for dogs to run about. Lots of balls around in case you forgot some for your own dog. There is a creek that runs along the edge of the park which is a nice touch. Bathrooms are available and clean. There is a playground for the kids. The only thing that I would say With me the little More care are the Picnic tables and benches. They look Pretty old And splintery... Be careful! read more

They say that "it takes a village." And this was indeed the case when it came to Boyle Park's recent makeover. A number of Marin residents raised money and resources to make this project happen for the community. Mission accomplished! They did a wonderful job resurfacing the tennis courts and landscaping the lawn/picnic area. Pros: - very family + dog friendly - recently resurfaced tennis courts (and they have nighttime lighting) - they offer tennis programs for kids during the summer - they have decent restroom facilities Cons: - parking is somewhat limited - no snack shack to purchase drinks or food - children's playground is a bit underwhelming All in all, Boyle Park remains a downtown Mill Valley treasure/institution. We're lucky to have it in our backyard. read more

We were going to be in the area, and yelped some pizza a few blocks away. Having a rambunctious 18 month old at the time, I wanted to get the food & have a picnic somewhere, so while driving down E. Blithedale Ave, I saw some tennis courts, hoped there might be somewhere to sit behind them, and went for it. I LOVE this park! One, it was totally dead. Maybe the time of day? (Friday around 1pm) but there were about 5 people spread out through the whole place. First we sat at the end of the field in the shade at some picnic tables, located next to some seriously old metal BBQs. We played with some doggies that were running in the field, and then headed to the playground, which had the best swings ever. 5'6" tall me, I could sit on one, and my feet didn't touch the ground! So we all played around for a while. Then we headed across the bridge. There is a beautiful stream. I'll put up a few pictures of it here. On the other side, is the baseball diamond. And the coolest hollow tree! We sat down inside and chilled for a while. Read about the Egg Hunt (happened last Saturday, we missed it) and took the slow walk back to the parking lot. Only negative, I'm pretty sure that lot is where our rental car got dinged by someone's car door, causing us $367 in freaking damages. But I would definitely go back here again. Beautiful place, it was so peaceful & serene. Actually right as we were leaving, it was becoming flooded with school kids. But that is true of any park! read more

love this park! it is so darling and sweet. one problem though, there is so much dog dookie on the grass. I could not walk. I stepped in turd five times within one hour. you would think they would have staff to clean the feces! I don't know how anyone can go there! Let me tell you I will not be going there again until someone cleans the poop! read more

I love this park when its not overrun by children's birthday parties with inflatable jumpers or little league baseball games. There is; however, a major trash problem at this park due to overflowing trash bins and trash bins that do not secure properly and are emptied by rats, squirrels and crows. Mill Valley seems to have a MAJOR crow problem and is desperately in need of better trash receptacles to mitigate the problem at all parks, especially this one, and Old Mill Park too. It would also be helpful if those attending baseballs games did a better job of cleaning up after themselves as the area around the bleachers is always filled with uncollected trash and trash bags after games. More trash bins, larger trash bins and trash bins with lids that secure to keep the crows out would help. read more

Love Boyle! Why 3 stars? Off-leash dogs and mucho dog poop on the grass. The fenced sandy play area is perfect for toddlers (they can't escape) and a great place to meet other parents. Climbable trees, good swings, and the cutest Little League fields in town. The drinking fountains usually work and hey, two sets of bathrooms? Great! There's a bouncy-friendly area, too, and permits are relatively inexpensive through Mill Valley Park and Rec. But!! The signs clearly say "No dogs off-leash," but this is completely ignored by many. Don't get me wrong. I *love* dogs. But I don't like dogs that run and jump on me or my kids and I really hate cleaning poop off our shoes. I have had more than one ball popped by dogs (those soft bouncy-balls); the owners shrugged and laughed. ("What can you do? Dogs will be dogs!" Exactly my point.) Most of the dogs are well-behaved and adorable, but if they are off-leash they belong at the dog park. read more

Noticed some recent reviews basically calling Boyle Park the Central Park of Mill Valley if you know what I mean (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Park). Boyle park definitely fell off. It used to be fun when my homies worked at the snack shack and would give us hot dogs for free, but now the whole area is basically gentrified (thanks a lot, google). In terms of the swings, there's usually a wait but you can get some decent air if you push off really hard. When it comes to parks in Mill Valley Bayfront is a much better choice, just make sure you bring a helmet if you're going to the skatepark. Overall if you're looking for a chill spot to kick it on Friday and Saturday nights in MV you're much better off going to the burm or the depot. read more

This park is tucked away and sort of hidden, which means you always get a table... There are several picnic tables with BBQ pits - some are covered by the trees some are out in the sun. Get there early for the tree covered tables. The large grassy field is perfect for a friendly game of Frisbee or even soccer. There are bathrooms that are pretty clean but much better than hiking through the brush to find a good bush to pee on. The playground is nice and the perfect size for any child to lose themselves in. I've come to this park several times and each time I like it more than the last time! So many great memories here!! read more

I really dig Boyle Park. There is something here for everyone - tennis, baseball field, open field for off leash dog play (not sure if this is legal or not). The bathrooms are a little antiquated, and the playground is broken up into several sections which makes it hard to keep an eye on children of various ages, but the park has a certain charm to it. When I used to live in Corte Madera, we would often head to Boyle Park on a summer's day to pop into the foggier side of the hill and get out of the strong heat just north of here. It can still be very sunny and hot at Boyle, but often more bearable than at Corte Madera. read more

Pretty good park. Not the best park I've been to. The swings are a bit underwhelming as it's hard to do underdogs on them. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge sandbox guy but the one at Boyle just doesn't do it for me. Those are the two biggest detractors from Boyle. I come for the ambiance, not the swings or the sandbox, sometimes on early dismissal wendsdays me and my boys will head over and toss around the pigskin (football) around and that's what Boyle is all about. The baseball fields are top notch and I spend most of my Saturday's and Sunday's chilling playing stickball before and after my games on the majors field. They also do this really fun thing if you catch a home run ball you get fries for free :). Boyle is prob the best park in mv just ahead Hauke Park. read more

One of my favorite local parks for families - always sunny, hence typically warm even on the nastiest winter days. Baseball fields, tennis courts, enclosed playground for toddlers and a bigger open one for older kids, and lots of green green grass for you and your doggie to run around. Why not 5 stars? Bathrooms are so-so... some people can so-so as well. read more
