I came in here a little while back to have the piercer remove a captive hoop from my nose (nostril) and to put in a temporary stud. I'll keep it succinct- The guy who was supposed to do the work was clearly high on something. He was stumbling, had slurred and disjointed speech, etc. I should have walked out right then, but against my better judgement and due to a time crunch, I stayed hoping he'd be able to get the job done. Needless to say, it was pretty unpleasant. He did a pretty good number on my nose, more blood and discomfort than there ever should have been (aka, none. The piercing is over a year old and was not bleeding prior to this). To boot, while he was trying (and failing) to get the temporary stud in, the guy drooled on my shoulder. Yes, you read that right- Drooled on me. At the end of this experience, the hoop was removed and the temporary stud was put in backwards at my request because it was pretty apparent that the guy was not going to be able to get it in from the inside. Figured I'd cut my losses. I let the owner know and he told me that the guy was coming from getting a tooth pulled, and might have still been impacted by anesthesia. Extending the benefit of the doubt... maybe that was the case. But regardless, a tattoo artist or piercer should not be working on clients when impaired to the extent that they can't maintain their balance and they're drooling on clients. On a positive note, I can say that the owner was very pleasant to speak with and was very receptive to the feedback I gave after I left; he seemed genuinely concerned and said he'd go check on the guy. That said, there are far better places to get work done. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR A TATTOO! They spelt our tattoo wrong after putting the stencil on. They then made us drive 25 minutes to show them what went wrong, then told us to come back in 2 weeks. No apology or concern for the mistake!!! So rude. read more

I have been here before in the past and was tatted by two different employees and had awesome service and loved the work they did as well as their personalities. It's been awhile and last night I was back for another tattoo. You know how it is if your a person with tats. Sometimes at the spur of the moment you get the urge! I went to get my tongue pierced today, there was a guy standing outside asking me what I'm getting done and he seemed a little high, his eyes were kinda shot and he asked me more questions i asked are the piercer? He said yeah we walked in didn't make me fill out any paper just said fuck it just show me your ID. I showed him my ID i wasn't sure if he was high on drugs or maybe just had an issue where he couldn't stand straight or really talk right. I went there last night and the tattoo artist Jeff is a complete thief. He charged me 200$ for a tattoo that took him 30 mins and on top of that is crooked and he drew it on my arm didn't even stencil it. I went here to see if I could get a septum piercing and I agree with other reviewers. The piercer was 100% high. It didn't look like good old maryjane either. He nicely told me he doesn't do septum and recommended someone at another shop and I was so relieved bc there was no way I was letting him pierce me like that. read more

We took my 14 year old daughter and niece to get their belly buttons pierced last weekend. We were a little nervous for them and ourselves, worried about after care and pain etc. Carmen was our piercer and wow was he amazing. He reassured us and kept us and the girls calm, talked us through everything and answered every question. I didn't think of it as a family outing but with his great attitude and personality he made it an enjoyable time out together for us. The shop is amazingly clean and sterile not like others where there is crap everywhere, it was bright and airy and cleaner than most doctors offices. If you're thinking about a piercing I highly recommend their services and Carmen! We will def be back for our belly button piercings soon as we drop this "baby" weight. read more

I left a review for this place like 2 years ago but they somehow deleted it? I went to get a belly piercing and the guy was high on something. Could've been pot but I'm thinking pills because you would have to smoke a whole lot to get to the level he was on. Walking in slow motion and when he tried putting the jewelry in a little cup of sanitizer he completely missed. Pierced it wayyyy too high too like it's a surface piercing above my belly button. Definitely xans or something but stay away from here. I took the piercing out after a few months of being in denial of it rejecting lol. After talking about getting a tattoo with my best friend for years, we finally decided to go and get them done on a saturday afternoon. We didn't make an appointment but did call ahead to see if we would be able to get it done that day. When we got there, they explained the shop minimum and had to fill out a sheet with our information. We met with Tracy, who took our idea to make a draft upstairs. She came back down with the draft for us to approve and then made the template. We then went upstairs to get our tattoos and Tracy made sure we were happy with the placement before she began. Overall, it was a pretty painless experience and tracy was super friendly. In between our tattoos I was impressed at the cleanliness and how everything was switched out. I am not sure if I'll be getting another tattoo again soon, but if I do I'll definitely be back here. I highly recommend Jersey Devil if you're getting your first tattoo or getting another one! read more

Jersey Devil was the first tattoo parlor I was ever in. I got my first seven tattoos there. That's ten tattoos, three different artists. Apparently they go through artists pretty quickly. My first artist was a woman named Teresa. She was very good and I liked her work. Since they were my first couple tattoos, I really didn't get anything large or too complicated, which I regret a bit because she was so good. But I should have recognized there was something wrong with the place when I showed up to talk to her about a larger, more intricate piece and she was gone and they didn't even have an artist to replace her. A few months later I returned to speak with the new artist. I let him do my foot tattoo which turned out very well... but it was simple and one solid color. After that I let him do my upper arms, one of which I have already covered up. The remaining piece is a mess. He dug too deep and every line feather out to the point that no one has any idea what it is, except me and a few friends. Also he took a smoke break every thirty minutes. I waited until he was fired before I went back to talk to the next artist. The last artist, Gemma, I went to I loved. He was courteous and experienced and HATED it there. I was amazed that I had come across him in that parlor. He was great. He did three large pieces (about twenty hours) on me, each session I learned something more disturbing about the parlor, like how he had just saved a pitbull puppy because the owner had hung it by its collar from the fence out back. That was the worst. As soon as he finished my rib piece he moved out of state to open his own parlor. And I haven't set foot in the parlor since. I'm glad I got some experience. The place was clean and up to code. But it isn't worth dealing with the artist leaving just as you get to know their style. read more

Suzi makes you feel at ease and treats you like you're family. She's super friendly, funny and makes the experience that much better. The others at the shop are pretty awesome too. Even though my canvas is devoted to her, I wouldn't mind having one of the others there do work on me if for some reason Suzi is or was not available. I went there 40 years ago for my first tattoo. I got it touched up there 20 years after i had it done. Today i took my granddaughter there for a nose piercing. He did it so quick the pain was VERY minimal. It took 5 seconds if that! He was very personable and knowledgeable. I got my nose pieced last year at a different shop. It took quite a few seconds to get it through....AND it hurt! I recommend Jersey devil for tattoos and piercing! read more

I never made it here because of how unresponsive they were. They were voted as top ten in south jersey so I tried to contact them. I went to their website where it said I could click on the link and email them a picture and receive a quote. Turns out the email address was typed wrong on the site and my email didn't go through. I called them and two people on the phone weren't familiar with their email address or what was on their website. They gave me another address which I emailed twice what I wanted and asked them to call me so I could schedule an appt. a week later and no response. read more

So I call jersey devil and nicely say "do you guys do lip tattoos?" The guy on the phone goes " ya come on in" I said okay I'm coming in now. I drive all the way from south Philly just to get there and for them to tell me that none of the tattoo artists will do it. I say I'm so confused why would you tell me on the phone ya and tell me to come in if none of the artist will do it now. It wasn't that they weren't available they just refused to tattoo me. The craziest part is the one artist said "that was my boss answering the phone I'm sorry he's old" if he's the boss shouldn't he know what's going on and shouldn't he be in charge? Why isn't he up to date with what his artist are willing to do? He's old not slow that's not an excuse. Such a poor display of management, customer service and professionalism. I will never be back. They kept trying to not only save the sale and keep me happy, so they were trying to convince me to get the tattoo somewhere else I said no I came here for a lip tattoo and that's the only place I want one. The whole reason I wanted it inside my lip was because they fade so quick and because no one can see it. I'm a paying customer I shouldn't have to explain my reasoning to them. They shouldn't have lied to me on the phone and this wouldn't have happened.
