For a sub that cost $20.95, I would have expected more than 2-3 slices of meat. I loved Jersey Mikes in Ashburn, VA as they didn't scrimp on meat or cheese. Been buying subs here for years. Always excellent. Way better than most sub shops. The staff is always polite and friendly.

This place is the worst. Ordered two subs. One big kahuna chicken and the other a chipotle cheesesteak. The bread on the kahuna was so soggy that it tasted like raw dough and something tasted like it was not good. Not sure if it was the mayo or what. Ended up throwing away a giant sub. My son had the chipotle and finished his only to wake up sick and throw it all up. So disgusted and disappointed. After reading some of the other reviews, it seems like this is just how they are. Totally disorganized and chaotic. Ordered 5 sandwiches 'to go' and three were incorrect when I got home. I ordered my BLT with added mayo and pickle. I received my BLT with only bacon, pickle and mayo on it. The steak and cheese sandwich had a piece of spaghetti on it. The deli doesn't serve spaghetti, so where did it come from? How disgusting!!! The subs here are definitely a step up above Subway, but this franchise needs to get its act together. Pros: - Deli meats sliced when your sub is made - Simple, but fresh, tasty toppings (esp. Mike's Way - lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar, seasonings) Cons: (this is why only 3 stars) - Been twice, dude behind counter that I shall call "Beavis" was pretty much clueless about his restaurants own menu. I had the misfortune of being waited on by him both times, both times I ordered right off the menu; both times he had no idea what should go on the sandwich. C'mon man - how hard can it be, there is just a handful of subs on your OWN menu!!! - Not clean. The meat slicer looked like it had not been cleaned for a LONG time -- a pile of meat scraps lay at the bottom of it. The blade on the slicer was literally coated with meat from prior cuts of who knows how long ago. Beavis seemed more interested in watching a girls softball match on a TV in the shop than worrying about doing his job. Bottom line: I like the concept of Jersey Mike's, but if you are the manager of this franchise and are reading this review -- get a grip and get employees that know the menu, know what good service actually means, and care enough to keep the place clean. read more

Loved Jersey Mike's for a long while. Expensive, but always delicious and service great. We place big orders for friends and family several times a year. The past three times we've ordered, we've had numerous issues. Missing products, incorrect orders, and then on Saturday had the worst subs ever. We will be going to another restaurant. read more

I like a good sub. Was visiting family in Mount Airy and we decided to have Jersey Mikes for take-out. This is my first visit to Jersey Mikes and the locals raved about it! How do these kids manage to screw up 2 of the 4 subs ordered for take-out? It's one thing to screw up an order when you're eating there, you just take it back to the counter. Take out is a pain because you have to put up with the junk they made, OR DRIVE ALL THE WAY BACK. The staff here is great, and the food is solid, especially the cold cut subs. Not as crazy about the hot sandwiches, I'd rather still get a meatball sub from a place with a pizza oven, but not many places make a good one any more, so this is as good as most. It was a busy Sunday afternoon. The employees where completely disorganized making wrong sandwiches, not making them correctly, nobody seemed to know exactly what their job was or who was suppose to be doing what. After waiting in line for 20 min, my wife decided to go next-door and get pizza. ( I should have followed her) I stayed and finally ordered my sandwich. Only to have the cash register crash when I was 3 people from checking out. The young manager couldn't fix it and had to call some one to figure it out. Four stars for the sub. But the owner should spend more time in this place. There were 6 people who were behind the counter and only 3 of them were doing any type of work. The rest were speaking with each other or friends. All the while the majority of tables were dirty and oil stained. And the group speaking with friends from outside made it feel unwelcoming because it felt like stepping into someone's private conversation. Will definitely give it another try. I have gotten food here before and always been ok with it. this evening was the worst experience i have ever had there. my husband called an order in for 4 giant subs on rosemary parmesan bread. my friends picked the order up and paid in cash for it as their online ordering wouldn't work(imagine that). when the food got here we had 3 giants and one regular sub. not only were the sizes wrong but they were all on white bread. There was also issues with toppings on subs being correct. When I called to see what happened I talked to a very young guy who claimed to be the manager. he said they were all out of the bread we wanted but they had no decency to inform us this when the order was picked up so we didn't know until we opened the subs back at home. when i asked why they couldn't call to say that or tell us that when we ordered(20 mins earlier) he said he didn't know but they are out. He also had no answer as to why the girl that took out order had a bad attitude and apparently placed it wrong. after arguing with him he said the order would be refunded onto my card, when we had paid cash and then he hung up on me. When i called back he played it off like he never hung up and that i knew i had to go into get my money back and got shitty saying i was being rude when i had not even begun to lose my temper. Unfortunately places like this seem to be run by all young and unexperienced people who have no regard for the customer. I will NOT be going back to this location ever again. We love the food at most .locations. Have not tried all of them of coarse. Mount Airy has been a little hit or miss latley. Still the food is really delicious. You see adds on t.v. And the food always looks incredible .. So rare to find the food on television and what is purchased-two iuu the same. The issue today was the meat always is overflowing and cooked perfection. All was true however, the steak and cheese was a little shy on the meat. Really looked stuffed until I unwrapped it and the meat was very shy, especially at te ends more then one to two inches bare. Appeared as though they worked hard to make it look full at at top. My husbands cold cut was shy of several items. We know the menu well and have had our favorites often. More times this place is spot on and the best subs in the area. I would like to just let the store know of a small issue easily corrected. Thanks for listening. read more

My family and I have been going to this location since they opened. Unfortunately, the service we receive is always horrible. The only reason we kept coming back was because it is the closest store to us, but something needs to change. Employees are clueless, distracted, and non attentive. Subs are often made incorrectly and mobile orders are rarely ready on time. This weekend I ordered 2 subs on mobile order. I arrived a few minutes before pick up, spoke to the employees, and they said they were working on the order right away. I waited for 20+ minutes and watched THREE more customers get their mobile orders before mine. The store was empty now and all the employees went to the back and were chatting and laughing. I finally lost my patience and asked where my order was and it had been sitting on the counter all that time. I understand things get busy sometimes but employees need to be trained better. I don't think I will be returning to this location anymore as this was the last straw. read more
