I just need to say one more time that she is amazing. I purchased a 3 session package. The first time, we didn't even end up doing formal hypnotherapy. We just talked about my life and history. At one point, I broke into tears because she was so connected to me and was able to offer so much insight into my life. She recommended a book - Earth Angels by Doreen Virtue. I had seen the book before, but passed over it not thinking that it would have anything to offer me. Well, I was very wrong. I will read any book Marcella recommends to me! My earthly oddness makes total sense now. During my second session, we talked and then I was formally led into hypnosis. I went really deep, really fast. Towards the end.... I don't remember what was happening, but I sought out a spirit guide and he came. He has been with me every since. He's great! She is also a great note taker. Fast and accurate. When I came out of hypnosis, she was able to tell me what I said. She also had visions that corresponded with mine. I wonder what the term for this is. During my third session, we talked and then I was led into a light state of hypnosis. I talked the entire time. It was an amazing session. The results were unexpected and delightful at the same time. I have also had Reiki I training with Marcella and her colleague Marylynne. Marylynne Norman who's office is also at the Living Well Center is also amazing! I wasn't too familiar with reiki and did not believe that I could feel into energy, but all of that has now changed. One of the participants in the class drove 2.5 hours just to train is Marcella. WOW! Marcella has changed my life and has helped me to be a better facilitator of change in my life. Now, I am better equipped to help others create change in their own lives. The most recent book Marcella recommended was Second Sight by Judith Orloff. It's in the mail. Can't wait to crack it open. Depending on your needs, my recommendation is that you see Marcella for at least 3 two-hour sessions. She is equally skilled talking to either your conscious mind or subconscious mind.

Let me explain: I saw her for a hypnotherapy session and it was pleasant. But if I wanted a little "quiet time", I could go take a nap. No deepened state of consciousness was induced, no subconscious feelings addressed, just a nice chat with some attempted visualization. And I left all of my preconceived notions at the door. So my conclusion is that if you need someone to talk to, and if you are not capable of meta-cognition (thinking about what you are thinking about), she might be a good person with whom to have a chat. But if you're even moderately self aware, I'd recommend you spend your time and money elsewhere.

I recently participated in a plant medicine ceremony led by Alex in which we leveraged IFS tools in the context of the medicine during a beautiful hike along the Sonoma coast. IFS is a powerful technology, and I find Alex's skillful approach to IFS makes it even more effective and accessible. I previously tried to work with other IFS therapists, but none worked for me until Alex ran an IFS exercise in men's group. I ended up tapping into my inner family and laughing out loud while speaking with a particular part. From there, I sought out more IFS therapy directly from Alex. Through my work with Alex, I've gained more awareness around how I experience and react to my own emotions and the phenomena around me. For example, when I start to criticize myself or doubt myself, I am now able slow down, listen, and turn that interaction into more of a dialogue and less of a battle. I am learning to better manage and listed to my various inner parts, particularly those who I have ignored or neglected in the past. With Alex's guidance, I have been able to meet young, vulnerable parts of myself that I am now fostering stronger and more loving relationships with. Through our recent medicine journey, I gained new perspectives on where certain anxieties and burdens came from, how my parts feel about being overwhelmed and spread thin, and how I can work with my inner family to change how I operate - to give those parts, and ultimately myself, more comfort and ease as I create, relate, and move through the world.

The group was powerfully transformative. Two+ years later, I was again in need of help: a new job promotion with more responsibility and stress; recovering from a surgery; and confronting long-present issues in my marriage. Before my time with Kugler, my internal tools were not supporting me, and when I finally decided I needed help, I did not want to start shopping for a new therapist.
