There were four different backgrounds set up for the event. Thankfully, two of the backdrops were located inside. Jamie's communication with us during the shoot was amazing. She was clear with her directions and got our small family of three into over a dozen different positions in the short fifteen minutes. Our son was nervous before meeting Jamie but quickly warmed to her. It wasn't long before she had him smiling, giggling and playfully posing for her. Correspondence from the very beginning was top notch. We received an email confirming the appointment, a reminder email and shortly after the shoot another email with information on how to access our pictures. Questions that I emailed were addressed quickly both by the staff and Jamie. I truly feel blessed for having met Jamie. She is a beautiful, talented photographer that I would highly recommend to anyone.

They make you feel as you are their long time friends. We only met with Andres and knew we wanted him to shoot our wedding! Pictures are extremely important and we couldn't have made a better decision. My fiance (at the time) being a big football fan, we really wanted to do our engagement shoot and Giants Stadium. We told Andres and he was excited! Unfortunately, we were not able to get in due to events during that month. We were stumped on were to go. Andres came in to help out and gave us some ideas and picked a perfect location. He made us feel extremely comfortable in our engagement shoot. After the shoot, we went to a great dinner with Andres and Kim. They got to know us a little bit better. They really make an effort to get to know you before your big day so they capture YOUR love story. It came to our big day. Andres and Kim were at my home early to capture all the details. There was another photographer at my husband's house. They made me feel calm even in a little moment of crisis. Again, we tried to take our wedding pictures at the stadium and again were denied due to an event. Andres was great at picking out another location. The pictures are fantastic!!! I do not feel my review is misleading, as I am honest with all my reviews However, perhaps I am blunt, but I tell it as it is without fluff. First off, I am aware of the wonderful photos in their portfolio based on reviews from yelp, their website and wedding wire. That is the reason why reached out to Dove Photography for a price quote. Yes, they were one of the cheaper ones, based on the quality of their photos, but honestly, why wouldn't you look to see what bids you can get before deciding on vendor? As a business owner, Scott should have asked what type of event it was and what type of shots I wanted before offering a price. Yes, it does sound extravagant when he says it was a wedding reception, but honesty, I only hired him during cocktail hour for 1 hour. In regards to timeline and saying I mislead him. Here is the timeline: 11/20/17-I reached out to get a quote for my event on 12/30/31 and received a quick response that same day from Scott saying he had availability with a price and asked for more details on what type of event I was having and types of shots I wanted. 11/21/17-I told him I would like to book him for the event and provided this info: "We'd like some family photos and candid photos during the cocktail hour." I felt at this point it was very clear there would be poised photos of people and not just candid shots. Note that no contract was signed yet. 12/5/17-Scott sent us the contract. Delay was due to the thanksgiving holidays and he was on vacation, which were aware of since he gave us a heads up early on that he would not be available for a week, which I was ok with. My husband had a question about the contract and Scott did answer us promptly. Nowhere on the contract did it say no poised photos and only candid photos. 12/24/17- My husband and I were proactive and sent Scott a list of group photos, detail shots and candid shots I wanted. As you can see, Scott had a few opportunities to ask for a higher price for the session if it was not what he expected, and I would have been fine with it, but he did not. As for arrival time, I am a stickler for people arriving on time. I am 100% sure they were not on time, as I was waiting around for a while and checking my phone every few minutes at our agreed upon time. My husband was upstairs paying our venue at the time. Perhaps they did arrive 5 mins before the scheduled time, but were in the parking lot unloading gear. I had just assumed the full hour we paid for were for photos and not set up time. In regards to the angle of the photos, I had a wall available for our group to stand in front of, that I actually had the restaurant clear tables for us. However, the Doves suggested they take it with a view of the restaurant for better depth. Which I agreed to, because they are the professionals and do this for a living. Plus, Scott had disclosed in previous emails that he was familiar with our venue as well. However, not only myself, but most of my guests agreed the photos were unflattering angles of everyone. This is just giving an honest review of my thoughts on the photos along with my guests' thoughts that they had shared with me when they viewed the photos. Overall, I thought I was pretty honest and clear with my review and generous with my 4 stars. My recommendation to the Doves and future customers is maybe clearer communication in the beginning so both parties would know what to expect in order to get the great photos that are on the Dove Photography website.

We found Dove Photography through Yelp, when searching for a photographer for a small post-wedding…read moredinner near my hometown this past December. Dove was reasonably priced (we only needed them for one hour) and local, so we booked. Scott and his wife were punctual and arrived sharply dressed and ready to work on the day of our event. They had actually photographed at the venue before, so they had a rough idea of where we should pose. They used the list of photos we wanted taken and were very good at remembering people's names and lining up everyone. The photos came out very high-res (the ones of the cake looked really good, and I liked the ones with my family), and were delivered via e-mail right on schedule (Scott advised they'd be ready end of week, they arrived late Thursday). My only small comment is that I wish they could have taken some of the shots at a higher angle; my wife and I were just a tad bit let down that we looked a little unflattering in some of the shots (I should have asked to check the first few pictures to make sure they were not too close up or low). Oh well--the quality, timeliness, and professionalism of this company overrules my small comment. Book with confidence! If I do another event in NJ, I'd use them again.

The photos were elegant, and sharp, and he truly captured the feeling, and crowd, and the fun of their wedding. When we started planning our wedding in 2013, I didn't even research other photographers. I got in touch with John, first, hoping he could work with us, and would work with us. He got back to me immediately, and even remembered us from the wedding in 2012--of course my husband was the best man, so it helped :-)--and although he was working on a project in Africa, he was happy to talk to us about our needs, and the estimates and dates, etc. We actually wanted something a bit unique in terms of a wedding photographer, and a special type of package. He was so happy to accommodate, and work with our needs. Being so busy before the big day, it was wonderful to receive an email from John confirming the when and where's. On the day, John was early, and immediately went to work capturing every second, and interesting visual. As the bride, I didn't even feel him there, although when I saw the photos, he was EVERYWHERE. And captured every moment...so many more moments than I could have ever been aware of. There were some photos that were so amazing of guests at the wedding that we had them printed and framed for them. Of course there were so may wonderful portraits of us, the bride and groom, and the family, (although let's be honest...always a bit scary to look at so many pictures of yourself...:-) that we are still realizing that we need another printed, and another, and another. After the wedding, we received our photos and package from John within a few weeks!! It was amazing! I feel like we were a bit luckier than most, because John is a multi-purpose photographer...commercial work, magazine covers, large events, and we were able to snag him for our wedding. I would recommend him, and have recommended him for all important events, and even family portraits, or special events. He was so enthusiastic....and his work so beautiful...that I made a mental note in case I had any need for a photographer in the future. When my husband turned 50, we decided to host his extended family of 26 people ranging in age from 1 to 91 at a local hotel named Mohonk. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture our children with their cousins and all 6 of their grandparents. In an absolute stroke of luck, John was available the Saturday I needed him because he was shooting a Friday night wedding that weekend. John brought a lovely assistant, who also had a camera and took beautiful shots from angles very different from John's. He met us at 3 pm down by the beach and took casual, fun and lively pictures. Then after a brief break to clean up, we all met for the more formal pictures. He came up with some really creative ways to include the physical beauty of the resort into the pictures. There are pictures on the balconies, throughout the gardens and even spread out within the garden taken from up high. After we finished the formal portraits, he stayed to take candids at a cocktail party, lobster bake and bonfire. The pictures are beyond stunning and he was incredibly fun and easy to work with.
