There were four different backgrounds set up for the event. Thankfully, two of the backdrops were located inside. Jamie's communication with us during the shoot was amazing. She was clear with her directions and got our small family of three into over a dozen different positions in the short fifteen minutes. Our son was nervous before meeting Jamie but quickly warmed to her. It wasn't long before she had him smiling, giggling and playfully posing for her. Correspondence from the very beginning was top notch. We received an email confirming the appointment, a reminder email and shortly after the shoot another email with information on how to access our pictures. Questions that I emailed were addressed quickly both by the staff and Jamie. I truly feel blessed for having met Jamie. Let me start off by saying that I should have done more research on this woman before hand,…read morehowever, I had a month to plan my wedding and this is what happens when you plan last minute: some things turn out nice and some don't. This is one of the latter... It's been a little over 2 years since this happened, but I remember it vividly, and have always meant to write review... well I finally got to it now lol. First, while we did take just a 3 hour wedding package, that does not mean that the job should be in anyway ill-treated or rushed. Well it felt very rushed, and very half-a$$ed. She had no sense of angles, or artistic sense towards my photos. At least none that were apparent in the photos. I literally (and luckily) had better pictures taken by a guest at the wedding (and for free). Not only was she rushed, but we had to give her all of the ideas for the pictures!! On top of the stress we already had! She never took a picture of me alone with my dress or my husband alone. that saddens me, since it was my wedding! To boot, she took just 1 picture at my reception, only because I begged. Mind you, when we first arrived to the city hall, we were busy with paperwork issues, and didn't take any pictures for the 1st hour, so technically she only worked for 2 hours...at a whopping $600, which she demanded we pay in full right there in my reception!! Since I was just married and in a good mood and all I made the mistake of handing her the money... Then we had to wait...and wait....and wait some more...until we were finally able to reach her. She mad some excuse that she couldn't meet us, and gave our picture CD to her doorman!!! WTF! Since I was leaving abroad, I didn't have time to do anything about it at the time, but really who does that?! She couldn't even give us the courtesy to face us! Anyhow, I took the CD home and when I viewed it, I was disgusted. The pictures were RAW, she didn't even take time to correct flaws, such as red eye, or ill lighting....something that can easily be done from any home computer in a matter of minutes!!!! Out of roughly 200 photos, there were maybe 10 (being kind here) that were nice enough to re-touch and fix (which I had to do). I don't know how she handles her other work, but I would definitely NOT recommend her for WEDDING Photography.

They had the aesthetic we were going for, more light and airy, and their book was gorgeous. We had our engagement photos with them at Skyland Manor and I was so blown away. We are super traditional and did not want a first look, they definitely tried to sway us into one, but understood in the end and left us alone about the decision, lol. I am very very thrilled about my photos and I am so excited to post them here. They were very quick which I appreciated as we wanted to get to our cocktail hour. There is also not a single photo I dislike, genuinely. Luis was our photographer and he also did our engagement shoot so we were already very comfortable with him. He has a dry sense of humor which I enjoyed, and we had no issues feeling comfortable with him and posing, etc. He also knew I didn't want a ton go group shots because we had a massive bridal party and again, that cocktail hour was calling our name, lol! I love getting photos taken, but my fiancé, now husband, is not a natural at all, but having had the engagement shoot behind us, he was relaxed and comfortable, and i think the photos look really natural and showcase us so well! They also caught a lot of the details I worked so hard on, which was a huge plus for me as a DIY bride without a planner. Sarah offers several tiers of service - we opted to have her add a second photographer - and that was money well spent since we had multiple venues throughout the day that needed coverage. On our wedding day she and her 2nd photographer were friendly yet professional, I honestly didn't notice them at all during the entire ceremony and they got some great natural shots without blocking anyone or distracting from the proceedings, which I know can be a challenge.
