He required that I pay 50 % up front and I wrote him a check for $1732.00. The day came for him and his crew to start the job and he didn't show up. Contacted him and got the run around so I fired him and asked for a refund. Since then I've gotten nothing but excuses including the classic "the check is in the mail". He told me it would be $500 to remove two sections of chimney and then when he got home to provide the rest of the pricing, he said it was $1100. When I asked why he said because he told me it was $800 (not $500) plus money to fix the flooring, even though that was never even asked for. But the ridiculous thing is before letting him come inside to cut open walls and mess with plumbing, I hired him to do some simple painting on the front porch. As they say a fool with a tool is still a fool, and this fool cannot even use a basic paintbrush. He was completely sloppy, not even painting all of the trim, but leaving a mess on the floor even though I told him I would give him plastic. He said don't worry he'll take care of it. The most ridiculous thing is that he started to paint some of the accent trim on the porch that was not supposed to be painted whatsoever and he painted it only halfway because he was so lazy to reach behind or remove a few pieces of a bush and left it half painted. When I asked him why he would even do this and why he didn't finish he said why am I complaining? It wasn't even part of the job.! Also, I was under the impression that he finished the painting fully and started to do the other project so I Zelled him more than half the money. When he told me none of the other work had been started I asked for a refund in which he responded with a text I'm not providing any money back.! Also, as with the picture, he was supposed to fix some rotten door trim with putty and I think a blind monkey could've done a better job. He slapped it on, not even close to even and simply painted over it.! DO NOT even think to hire this hillbilly idiot.

At every turn additional costs were added. $450 job became more than $800. The tiles were uneven and the grout work was horrible. Additionally I received receipt for materials in of which was a level for the floor which I paid for but mysteriously disappeared. I contacted him about returning it but he said he was out of state and would return it but didn't. Some tools are needed as part of doing the line of work someone is in. This was inexcusable. I ended tidying up after his work. I would not recommend him or use him again. I'm stuck with this horrible tile work. The transition from the bedroom into the bathroom is wood floors that was damaged and there's a hole where removed piece of wood was left to Show the hole. Sloppy work.
