We rarely make it down to Miami for a flight, but West Palm is usually worth going north to that airport for a flight. We planned a weekend trip to New York last month and with a bit cross checking, Palm Beach International Airport had the best flight based on flight time and cost. It is nice to be able to just walk into a airport that's not crazy at all. within minutes after walking in we are almost always gateside. They have a quick TSA area, and once by the gate there is always spot to grab a bite or drink. This last trip there was a open space bar in the middle of the rotunda where we could see our gate and about four others, so it was easy to time our check grab and getting in line for our flight. We generally fly out of Fort Lauderdale, but when its close to a tie which to go with, we got Palm Beach.

Flying home, my flight was delayed but there were plenty of places to sit and I was able to use my laptop and charge my phones. There were places to eat and drink, as well as newsstands for snacks and sundries. Not a ton of options, but plenty if you're there for just a brief time. I can't fault it. If visiting Florida is your thing, this is a good gateway.

There is pickup and drop off parking on the street in front of the station. It was busy, but we got there early enough to find a space. We were picking up friends arriving from Fort Lauderdale. Outside, there's seating and a bicycle rack. Inside, downstairs, there are a couple seats, and a sanitizer station, and bathrooms. Also inside downstairs, is a posting with all the trains for that day organized by direction and routings. They also tell you whether the specific train is on time or not. When I came in to check out the station, I was immediately greeted and welcomed and offered assistance. Those that need help are directed to the customer service desk. To access the trains, you need to go up the escalator right next to the service desk. Inside, everything was spotlessly clean and comfortably air conditioned. It was suggested that you download their app for the easiest convenience. Our friends liked their trip experience so much, that they plan to take Brightline to Orlando sometime.

Again, this is one of my favorite airports to fly into when flying on a private jet. They have free…read moresnacks and drinks, and the staff is very friendly. Lots of large cushioned chairs and couches to relax in, free computers and wi-fi to use. Restrooms are clean and have all the freebies such as mouthwash, cologne, mints, etc in them. No TSA lines, no security checks, no lines, no bag searches or x-ray machines, just approx a 100 foot walk to your private jet, board, and fly away. The pilots always check your passports before you leave the ground, which only takes about 5 minutes. The best way to fly, but of course its very expensive depending on where your going it can range from $1,000's to $10,000's and more. These private executive airports rarely have more than 5 customers in them at a time, because once the customer arrives, the pilot already has the place ready and you leave within about 15 minutes of arriving to the airport. If you want to be treated like a movie star, fly this way, ha!

I found the experience exquisite as it was very calming sitting in one of their comfortable leather seats looking out the window without feeling people crowded on top of my person. They usually have a spread out for picking on small plates. I was there around breakfast time so I enjoyed mini cinnamon sugar waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties as part of the options they had. I enjoyed those and the hot coffee. They have a nice bar in the back that also includes a small ice cream fridge for ice cream bars and treats. It's very chill and relaxing and a good way to kill the time before catching the flight. So long as you are a AMEX Platinum member and flying out that day, you are welcome to embrace synergy. Synergy.

I used the Escape lounge this morning. I was there more than an hour. It is a fine alternative to…read morefull-on Amex Centurion venues. There are other lounges -- the one at STL in particular -- that are terrible, hardly worth the privacy relative to sitting at the gate. The Escape lounge was spacious, clean, comfortable. The staff were courteous. I had eaten already at the motel. I had second breakfast, my favorite meal. It consisted of a waffle with the maple sweetener (you can request it plain; I heard another patron do that) and a sausage patty. I drank a tea and a glass of water (which you have to request from the bar). They start serving alcohol at 7am. Three guys ordered hard liquor. I am not one to judge, and I have imbibed early from time to time, such as a Bloody Mary. I am reporting to compliment the servers who poured the drinks, and they helped one guy who had been seated for some time, waiting, five minutes prior to the scheduled start. He seemed to have sniffles. I believe he made a hot toddy -- I am just old enough to remember parents giving kids a thimble worth of whiskey for sleep or using it on gums for teething pain, practices which have fallen out of favor. They also had an advertisement for something I'd try. It was liquor infused ice cream, almost 5% ABV. There is a tiny issue. They have a puacity of power outlets. I got one. I saw another guy searching. The bar has USB ports underneath. Note if you are using the Amex app, you cannot rely on the location detection to identify the correct lounge. It gave me FLL instead of PBI. The receptionist was familiar with this tendency. You just cancel the QR code and try again.

The flight attendants, are friendly and even will be funny sometimes depending on the crew you get. The planes also are typically clean, and I've never had issues with the in flight wifi. I'm a person who likes a Bloody Mary on a flight, and it was southwest who introduced me to lime crystals which is a lovely addition to a Bloody Mary, and I personally think the snack mix is tasty as well, it's a great combo/assortment. I will say, it pays to be in the A Group since they do have an open seating policy. I travel a good deal, and will continue to use southwest if I'm traveling to an area that they fly to

Absolutely the only way to fly…read more.. Booked a flight to Ft Lauderdale from Austin a couple of weeks ago. Had trouble getting a rental car so so I thought I should reschedule the flight. Called customer service less than 24 hours before my flight to change it. I was able to make the change with no extra charges or fees. $167 rt When I got on the plane there were two women seated in the 1st row so I sat in the middle seat. First time in my life that I was the first passenger off a plane. Why would anyone fly with any other airline? Free checked bags, great friendly customer service, no charge for changes, credits and points no longer expire. Southwest you raise the bar for air travel!
