Their flights are amazing. I always take them when I have the opportunity because I know what I am going to get. I figure it is going to take me a day regardless where I go so I might as take an airline which I have good success in the past. We did sit out on the runway without moving for an hour. This just happens. It is part of the travel process. Something usually goes wrong so this is just part of travel. American does have fee WiFi as well as a movie library to select from on their app. Just remember to bring the ear plugs for sound. Please add non-stop from Boston to Palm Beach! I love those biscuits they give out on the flight. They get my vote. read more

American Airlines is a horrible and poorly run company that employs people that could care less about you. On our recent return from Milan, our plane experienced a supposedly software problem only after all passengers were aboard and ready for takeoff. They kept us on board with almost no communication regarding the status for over 5 hours. We were not provided with any food, water, nor fresh air and barely any updates. After 5 hours they decided to cancel the flight. We were herded onto a bus and brought back to the terminal. We were then bused to a hostel quality hotel Best Western (The Hub) outside of Milan. We were told dinner would be included and that we would be rescheduled for a flight out the next day. Dinner was horrendous and inedible. The Hub hotel refused to serve us dinner in their dining room even after we offered to pay for it ourselves. The food delivered in trays for dinner was horrible. We were told we would be picked up by bus the next morning after breakfast at 11:30 for a flight out. Only after speaking with other stranded travelers did we find out the bus was leaving at 10:30 instead. The staff at the Hub Hotel provided mo info nor updates unless asked. Had we not spoken with other travelers about the rescheduling, we would have missed the bus and the flight. Having to go through passport control, baggage check yet again, the flight left late but we were happy to finally be on our way home. The food and service on the flight were lousy. Same crew as the original one. If you have any choice, don't fly American Airlines. They are the pits. read more

I'm happy to say that I had a delightful experience recently with American. I am not elite status, I should say. The flight left on time. The flight attendants were courteous. The bathrooms were clean. The snacks and the drinks were fine. My luggage arrived promptly and in one piece. The people at the airport were helpful as well. Re-train your employees on how to be nice. This review is intended for AMERICAN AIRLINES. South Florida, Palm beach international airport. This morning I had the unfortunate experience of meeting your employee Antoinette, she was working the bag check in this morning when I arrived around 7am. The conversation started nice until she asked me if I had any electronics in my bag. I stated I had a phone charger. Apparently miss antoinette had never heard of a phone charger because when I said that she said "I'll repeat this again, do you have any batteries, e cigs....that whole speech." I said "no, just my phone charger with a dock to plug in." Here's the best part, she said "sir I don't know why you're being difficult I don't know what that is." Now, I've worked in the service industry before and this is no way to treat a customer. Her attitude sucked, she was rude, condescending and quite frankly she smells like moth balls. She's an old white lady with a little boys hair cut. She sucks and needs her attitude checked. read more

I fly approximately twice a month and have for years. I have been an Elite Member of their Frequent Flyer Club since they acquired U. S. Airlines. Since January 1st, 2024 I've taken 12 round-trip flight on American Airlines, and every flight has taken off and arrived LATE! EVERY FLIGHT! The delays lasted from 20-minutes to more than an hour, and these delays were not due to weather, but: * Mechanical issues; * Waiting for Missing Flight Crew; * Waiting for the plane to be cleaned; * Unruly passenger; and, * Too many passengers, not enough seats! The last flight I took from DFW to PBI was the topper! The excuse - too many passengers and not enough seats - was the absolute end! It seams a family of five (5) boarded the plane with only four (4) boarding passes! They tried to claim their seven (7) year old child - wWho was seated in a stroller - would sit on a family member's lap during the flight! Not only is that dangerous, but it's illegal. Infancy usually ends by the time the child is two! This was just B. S.! To compound the problem they didn't speak English! So, instead of removing the family from the plane, we sat for almost a hour waiting for this fiasco to resolve itself. And what they ended up doing was removing the last arriving passenger. - a Standby Passenger - from the plane! And the removed passenger didn't want to be removed. American Airlines - like most of the rest of the rest of the Travel Industry - is less concerned with Customer Service and more concerned with making money regardless of the impact on the Flying Public. There's no excuse for putting Greed above the comfort & concerns of the Flying Public! The family should have immediately & quickly been removed from the plane, and we should have left on time! read more

America airlines canceled my trip 3 times after being on the phone for hours each time to rebook the same flight the same itinerary they told me it was a computer error the first two times the third time they said someone canceled it therefore I couldnt rebook. so I just lost 2500 dollars for all the tickets on my itinerary they told me they couldn't rebook I had to buy new tickets!!!! they were rude and not caring. I didn't ask for refund I was just worried and anxious about our family trip that became a disaster. I bought the plane tickets for a big family reunion in March and June the cancelations began. our trip was planned for July. they didn't care they didn't even try to help with a solution the only wanted me to buy new tickets the same exact itinerary american Airlines canceled. how is that fair! worst airline ever! spirit has better service and solutions. then I was told a refund was pending. Had a flight out of PBI to Hilton Head this morning and there was a layover in Charlotte NC. This morning my flight was delayed over 45 minutes because an attendant was driving in with under an hour until flight from Martin County. Not only was the distance he was coming in from a lengthy one, he was stuck in an accident on 95. Due to all of these, I missed my connecting flight and am currently stuck in NC waiting for the next flight that leaves at 4:30 pm. American Airlines is in a deceptive arrangement with Opinions For Miles, a data collection company that says they will award AAadvantage miles for completes surveys. However: American Airlines is partnered with a company who is defrauding people. "Miles For Opinions" is stating that they will award American Airlines Advantage Miles for completed surveys. AFTER COMPLETING the survey, the message says "the survey's have already reached the customer's required limit. So, in essence they have received my survey answers and not honored their commitment. If the limit of surveys was already reached, and if the company was not scamming, then Miles For Opinions should not allow the survey to continue. American Airlines needs to put a stop to this company's ability to offer Advantage Miles!!! read more

The gate agent on duty yesterday for the noon flight from PBI to DCA (Tracy) could not have been lovelier when I was unable to board at the last minute because of illness. She helped me rebook for the next day and went so far beyond what I could have expected to follow up and make sure I was covered. I felt like I encountered a Christmas angel. The ticket agent the next day was wonderful as well. All it takes is a little humanity and great customer service to bring a little sunshine to the day. American Airlines was recently declared by the Wall Street Journal to be the worst of America's major airlines -- worse than Frontier, Allegiant, and even Spirit. Even the pilots who work for American Airlines deride this flea circus of a business. My recent experience with American Airlines stamps in stone that indeed American is the worst of all of America's major airlines. I flew on American from West Palm Beach, Fla to Charlotte, NC, on 7/31 and then to Akron, Ohio on 8/1. My experience was horribly bad from start to finish, and the worst part is, the airline's employees could not have cared less about any of the issues I suffered. I've never seen a more callous, unfeeling,unhelpful, miserable bunch of sh*tbag employees anywhere. All of these people should be fired. On 7/31 at West Palm, the flight scheduled for 2:55pm was delayed for 3 hours while they changed 2 tires. Yes, routine maintenance was performed when a flight for that plane was scheduled. At 4pm, they rebooked my connecting flight from 5:50 to 8pm but because we took off 3 hours late, the flight arrived at 7:40 and it was not enough time to make it to the connecting flight. I was the first one out of the plane and I RAN FULL SPEED through Charlotte Airport from terminal B to Terminal E carrying a heavy bag and missed my connecting flight by 5 minutes. My gate in Terminal E was 36, the LAST GATE possible. Yes, this is what crapass American Airlines does to its customers. They run very late and then land the plane in a Terminal far away from your connecting flight, which forces you to run like an animal to the next gate that even an olympic sprinter couldn't make in time. I am 57 years old. And at my age, American Airlines expects me to run to my next flight like I am some 18-year-old who just got out of Parris Island basic training. C'mon now! My heart was pounding to the point that I literally thought I was going to pass out or die of a heart attack. I am not embellishing. Imagine now if you will running like a crazy person for nearly 20 minutes and finally arriving at the gate just to find out that, ALTHOUGH THE PLANE IS STILL THERE AND HAS NOT LEFT YET, I cannot board. Are you fkn shi**ing me?????!!!!!! They outright refused to get on a phone and get permission for me to board. So now I am stranded at Charlotte Airport because that was the last flight to Akron. I find out I have to go to customer service and get rebooked for the next available flight -- Saturday, August 1st, 9am. I end up having to spend the entire night in the airport and I have no food and no water and the food places close early. Yeah, I know....NIGHTMARE SCENARIO. The next morning, I am at the gate and we board on time, everyone is on the plane and then, IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IT, at the last minute the captain announces we are delayed because of some mechanical issue. Folks, you can't make this stuff up. Another flight delayed because of mechanical issues. Luckily they solved it quickly and we took off about 20 minutes late and I finally got home around 11am when I was supposed to get home the previous night at 7:20. I was in bad shape from this horrible and unnecessary ordeal. So I would just like to say... THANK YOU, AMERICAN FLEABAG AIRLINES, for a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience. Rest assured, I will never, ever fly American Airlines again. I'll friggin' walk first. read more

You're told you can have a small carry on which was a lie. Packed so there would be no need check bags. Not to mention I have a medical condition as does my wife. Everything is packed and I was told to unpack if I need my meds as I'm walking on plane. No way to do that. Had hoped American would be better than this. Another crap and lying airline. Flight out of Grand Island Nebraska was scheduled to leave at 4:36 on 2/5/19. After boarding, a tire was discovered to have a split that was determined to be significant. Rather than have a team of techs available, a tire had to be brought from Dallas. That was the first delay of 5 hours. This airport had no one at the desk to explain what was happpening next. We boarded a second plane at 10:50 pm. Once settled, we were told that new plane didn't have an oxygen mask operational for the pilot. Understand safety issues but all we were offered was soda and water. Do NOT fly this airline-would you want every plane have safety issues? read more

They have moved my flight time up 3 times and our seats in the back from the front. This i called and ask them to take care of me the customer and at less upgrade me and my wife to first class for our inconvenience of this all and was told all but to pound sand. If I wanted to arriving at noon I would have. Booked with jet blue that I could have flown for free. But me and my wife chose to pay and fly with yiu fokes. An so far I get a whole lot of I can't. I got him on a flight down with spirt.... his return flight was canceled by the airline. We were not aware they did that ... no notice. My other nephew was with and missed his flight with Jet Blue... DON'T TRUST THEIR NO CHANGE OR CANCELLATION FEES DURING EPIDEMIC!! Ok, so my niece had wedding planned for October 9, 2020 & I was hesitant to book plane flights for me & my husband to attend w/ this covid epidemic. I am in healthcare & deal w/ geriatrics which is one of most compromised populations. I booked 2 tickets in March of this year because I was assured no cancellation or change flight fees. WRONG!! I have contacted airline multiple times & only response is I can change flight b/ will have to pay difference in new flight fees & when I responded, "if I'm going to be hit w/ additional fees, let's just do refund & we'll start from scratch when ready to book?" Was then informed I had purchased a nonrefundable fare? HUH?!? I have also been informed if don't use $s that already paid for tickets by December 2021 I will loose $s? How is that a no transfer or cancellation fee? I realize I am probably already out $s paid to them b/ until I am sure this epidemic is to point that safe to travel, I will not put my patients lives in jeopardy & am appalled by AA guarantees of security until you try & follow up w/.
