Run fast away from Palisade Pedicab unless you want to hand your money over for absolutely no service.

She picked three places.  The first stop was so full of fun and the winemaker, Justin, took the time to explain about the Grand Valley and the winemaking process.  He was informative and kind and we had a great time.  I've done wine tours before, but no one spent time with us and hosted us as well as this.  Well worth the price.  Our second and third stops were nice as well, with options to choose between iced cocktails on a hot day or the selected wine flights.   Sarah herself was a delight and handled our brand of humor in stride.  At the end of the tour we were sad to say goodbye and were so glad that she was our host.

We were welcomed upon entering the main lodge, the outside and inside of the lodge building was pleasingly decorated, the employee in charge was friendly and laid back, helpful, and very patient with us as we decided on our supper choices and found our table, the lodge was clean, neat, did not smell bad, the fireplace had a nice warm fire going with several comfortable chairs and a couch in front of it, the dining room was spacious, there were several delicious choices for supper (we ordered a Hawaiian pizza!), there were many alcohol choices, snacks, a well-stocked side room with many essentials for campers, hunters, etc., big windows on one whole side of the lodge that afforded nice views of the beautiful Grand Mesa mountains. I planned a surprise 7th wedding anniversary for my wife by going to Palisade/Grand Junction…read more Really didn't have a lot planned for the weekend, but my wife had been wanted to got back here since here bachelorette celebration 7 years earlier, so I thought it would be fun. We knew there were plenty of wineries, but since my wife like trying new things and I didn't know where she had gone in the past, I had her pick the place to go when we got in and she 'randomly' selected this one. We couldn't have been happier. They have plenty of places to sit outside, but we went to the upstairs patio that overlooks the vineyard. It was a great choice. It's very pleasant, the view is beautiful, it's covered (so you're not baking in the sun), and when the breeze rolls through, it's perfect. We were a little taken aback that we had to go "all the way" downstairs when we wanted more wine, but then realized that it's the 'winery atmosphere' (remember - first day in to Palisade). We absolutely loved sitting on the patio and having a couple glasses of wine. We spent the next day visiting a few other wineries, but after two others, we decided to go back to Carboy. Sat on the upstairs patio again and listened to the live music (with a couple glasses of wine). It was amazing. Carboy has an assorted selection of food that can be ordered. We didn't order any, but it looked amazing and the people around us that did order things seemed happy with it. The only thing that we commented on was that when there's live music, we would have loved to have had the option of a food truck. If that had been the case, we both agreed that we probably would have stayed and had dinner there (as it was, we decided to leave and get dinner from a restaurant). If you're in Palisade (and are visiting wineries), I highly recommend Carboy. Personally, I'd skip the tasting 'flight' and go straight for a glass of wine, but that's mostly because the tasting varies from white to red (and I'm not a big fan of whites).
