We purchased a property with house and barn and took out homeowners insurance with Allstate…read more Included in the homeowners policy is full replacement cost of roofs for the house and the barn. When this policy was put into place on the barn roof had previous patch repairs made by the previous owner. After our purchase of the property we sustained further damage to the barn roof due to winds. We made temporary patch repairs with new shingles to the barn roof ourselves in order to protect the structure. This was done as a temporary solution while we got replacement cost estimates. When our house roof also lost shingles due to wind we contacted Allstate Insurance to place the claim for both roofs. The time span between sustaining the barn roof damage and the house damage and placing a claim was about 4-5 weeks. Allstate will only cover $149 of the cost for the barn roof, stating that the barn roof had previous repairs. Yet Allstate insured the barn roof for full replacement with previous patches already in place. The shingle patches we placed were purely a temporary solution while we got estimates.

When I arrived, there were three or four others ahead of me in a small office, yet I waited no more than ten minutes to be called. Jim prepared my taxes and was thorough in both reviewing my previous return and pointing out flaws from a certain other high profile national tax prep company and in getting me all the deductions I qualified for. I went in thinking I might owe at least a small amount, and ended up with a considerable refund. He is clearly very experienced and up on all current and even future tax issues.
