75 percent of these employees have zero customer service skills. Im not sure whats going on. The deli is nice and the clerks at the deli are friendly but the cashier was ridiculous. Almost as if she wasnt aware of her surroundings. I thought she may have been on drugs or alcohol but im not sure, she was a middle age hispanic lady and for some reason, when i asked her about a price, she asked to see my phone. It was so odd, i was taken back but i showed her and she grabbed it from my hand and started scrolling. Finally i asked her for my phone back and she kept typing something on my phone... it was so weird. She then handed my phone back and the jewel app was closed and my gallery was open. I asked her what she did and she said i gave you the dollar off. I dont even know what she was talking about. I took my groceries and left. I should have spoken to a manager but i had things to do and this was a couple weeks ago. Anyways, never hand your phone to a store employee... i dont know what she did or was looking at... everything was closed on my phone except the gallery and pictures of my wife and kids. More often than not have to bag own groceries. Frequently numerous out of stock items and restocking people everywhere blocking aisles.

I shop here OFTEN with my sister who is a manual wheelchair user (so I push her and pull the cart) there is NOT one day that is good to shop to be able to get down the isle. They have their stock people in every isle leaving their carts or the app shopping people leaving theirs. Isle are absolutely blocked to maneuver through! On top of that if we do try to go down them we get nasty looks from employees like how dare you get in our way! I believe businesses have to be handicap assessable which getting in and out are but shopping is so stressful! I live 3 min from this store and now will be traveling to another town to shop very sad! read more

No attention paid to soup counter. Coldest day of year so far and soup was barely out before lunch but no crackers. No utensils. Asked for a spoon and when I got to the checkout only self checkout and express lane open and both were backed up. I only have a half hour for lunch so I returned the soup to the soup counter, left and went grabbed something somewhere else. Very disappointed! read more

If we were to talk about the floral option, there is quite the variety for a good price. As a florist of 5 years, working in the heart of Chicago to working in South Carolina. I am pleased to say, that as someone who wouldn't be knowledgeable about floral whole sale, would be getting a good deal. And for 15$ for 3 bundles you could potentially create a wonderful bouquet. However, I feel even doing 2 sets for 15$, being 6 bundles of flowers, would even show your expertise and skills. In the last 60 days, I've ordered two cakes from this location. One was for a bridal shower, and the other was for a birthday. The ladies at the bakery helped me pick out the designs, cake-type, frosting type, and filling. Both cakes were excellent, and everyone who tried them enjoyed the flavors. Real fruit filling, not canned jelly you get from other bakeries and the whipped cream frosting was NOT the over processed stuff that tastes like chemicals. read more

The worst location I've been too... I used to work at jewel, my sister used to work at jewel, and my mom currently works at jewel (not this one). I just moved to yorkville and I was so excited there was a jewel so close to me. Yeah, no. Everytime I go there, they are out of something. Anytime I want fresh food, they have an attitude. Their chicken is the worst I've ever tasted, and I love jewel chicken. Do not get your prescriptions at this Osco! It doesn't matter what time I go through the drive-thru it's at least a 10 minute wait. Today I went through and they questioned me about my current address as well as an old address from 2 years ago to verify information. Trust me no one else has my name. The Jewel in Yorkville is pretty much the same as every other Jewel I've been to. Decent prices, clean, and a decent amount of things in stock. It also has the above average customer service Jewel is known for. The one thing that sticks out for me at this Jewel though is it's location on Rt 34. It makes it easy for me to quickly stop in and grab something to eat on my way back to the office. This Jewel is A-OK. read more

Very unhappy with the way this store is operated. First of all, I have to say I have been shopping at Jewel for many many years and am sad to say I will not be returning to this location. The customer service was extremely RUDE and no one wanted to help. I could not locate a particular item and asked if someone could help me, I was told to wait and someone would come help me....I stood there for 10 min before someone even returned. I immediately asked for a supervisor and the supervisor was WORSE! Attitude, and acted as if I was bothering her. All I can say is STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. read more

Jewel Yorkville used to be great BEFORE it was bought out a few years ago. The employees cared about their jobs and made it a point that the customer could find things. Now even on weekdays at busy times you have to maneuver around pallets because they'restocking shelves. Even while standing at the checkout, employees complain with baggers about their jobs. I continue to do limited shopping there because I like that they employ people with disabilities. I do most of my shopping down the road at Aldi. read more

Let's just say the only options are target or Walgreens because I will never in my life return to this jewel. The employees are rude and a Bald manger guy with glasses is even ruder. I am a frequent shopper at the Yorkville Jewel location at Route 47 and 34. Almost every week they are always out of a couple to few items on my shopping list; doesn't matter what it is. I always end up having to shop at multiple stores just to get what I need. The deli needs better service. This week, there was only one customer being served, and meanwhile, I stood there for five minutes waiting, while the four other workers were standing further down the counter by the chicken. The customer service has gotten a little better in the past few weeks, but there are still some employees that don't care to give a smile or be helpful in any sort of way. Because of limited grocery stores in the area, it's either this Jewel location or the one off Orchard and 34, which often does a better job keeping things stocked and you never have to wait at the deli counter, or even long in the checkout lane. This location needs to step it up in service and keeping things stocked. I shouldn't have to worry about what day of the week to go to the store, or even a certain time of day, to ensure they have everything I need. Very frustrating!!! read more

Maybe the only way they can tolerate the torture of working in a negative environment. The new self service check outs are a disappointment they tried it once before. Lame.... aldis is much better. experience today was a last minute run for snacks late at night (11:30). one cashier with self checkout turned off due to the late hour. overall the experience was better than average. would recommend ditkas meat sticks (friend bought 17, they were that good). the cashier looked exhausted as one would on their last 30 minutes of his shift, but was still courteous and professional. the man locking up, however, (while very nice and welcoming) wasn't wearing his mask and had it on his chin. would also highly recommend using the jewel osco rewards/couponing app for the full experience - i got a whole cake and an arizona tea for 8$. restroom was squeaky clean and even offered a large bottle of hand sanitizer for customers to use. only took off a star because i feel the cashier needs a raise. we saw him walk back to his car and as he pulled down his mask it seemed like it was the only thing holding him back from crying. we appreciate you brandon. read more

The pharmacy is such an unpleasant place to go for your meds. They've had my sons prescription for over a wee & I had to go into the store to only be told it was never even pulled to be filled. Then she tells me to be back in an hour for pick up. Only to call and be told it's still not ready but she'll call me when it's all set. I get a phone call that it's ready but when I get there I get questioned about my son & they refuse to give it to me til they speak to his Dr. Who by the way is closed now. So I tell them just give me the meds so I can go & she refuses. She tells me to get out of line. To which I say no I'll wait since you've made me wait this long. She decides to threaten to call the cops on me. So I said please do. She doesn't but I can hear her in there the whole time complaining about me. I live in Indiana and I was shocked by how unkempt and unwelcoming this store was compared to mine. I joined a family member who frequently shops here and asked her, how?? To her defense unfortunately, it's the nearest convenience. Limited product choices and apparently inventory management is not important. I walked into the restroom and walked right out. Should've known better given the uncleanliness of the store. Lifeless employees added onto the unwelcoming feeling shopping through the store. The overall unsatisfactory level of operation made perfect sense after being assisted by the store director. She made us feel as if it was a chore to give us a few moments of her time. Unfriendly, impatient, disinterested, and basically rude just to name a few. I've never been so dissatisfied with the professionalism of a store director before.
