Addison location. I bought almost $200 worth of food for Christmas The mandarin oranges (pre-bagged mesh) were rotten. I had to throw 3/4 of the oranges away. Parsley was nasty the next day. I bought 2 containers of spinach dip, it tasted like poison. I was so embarrassed when I saw my guests faces as they were eating it. I brought the spinach dip back and was reimbursed but because I threw out the rotten fruit and Parsley, they wouldn't reimburse. I will not be shopping at Caputos any time soon. Besides the above, the cherry on the cake was after my bank & I concluded today that the debit card I used was hacked. Where? Caputos. DONE read more

From first impressions, the store was clean, gigantic, and had a large selection of everything. The pizza area on the right as you walked in looked pretty bad so I skipped the slices. I ended up grabbing a take and bake pizza that was on the Friday special. The dough was par baked and kinda stuck to the cardboard on the bottom. The cheese was terrible and was more gooey and not stretchy, but the sausage on it was really good. The overall taste of the pizza was pretty bland. The tiramisu was more of a cake with traditional tiramisu flavors and was actually pretty good. It's like tuxedo cake but tiramisu flavors. Sometimes lady fingers can get too soggy and mushy if not made correctly. The overall shopping experience was great. The person at the bakery was very helpful and friendly. The only problem was an incompetent manager that rang up the Friday take and bake pizza special wrong. I was overcharged and she didn't even accept her wrongdoing. It would've been a 5 star visit if it wasn't for this manager. read more

I bought cod there. The clerk wrapped it super tight in a few layers of plastic. When I opened it at home, it was the worst smelling fish I ever encountered. When I complained to headquarters, they were rude and unapologetic. When I returned it to the store, the clerks nearly passed out from the odor, and gladly refunded the cost. I gave it another try a week later, went to buy fresh Italian rolls in the unwrapped bin when I was greeted by a gigantic bug. I didn't bother calling headquarters or complaining there, didn't do any good the first time. I was nauseous to think I ate that bread 100 times before. I bought a half gallon of the fresh orange juice for $8.99. I opened it this morning & it was terrible. It did not taste right and was fizzy! I called to ask about a refund & they informed me that I have to have my receipt. I am not going to dig a receipt out of my garbage for $10!! So much for customer service! To whom it may concern please. My name is L. C . Recently I bought 12 cases of Merlot grapes and 12 cases of Tempranillo grapes. I was told that the case has 36lbs net weight . I wanted to put them on the scale in the store. Louis said that if I experience problems to call the store , to me the cases seemed lighter than expected. I got home and put them on an accurate scale and to my surprise every single case was under 36lbs . the empty case was 1.45lbs so each case+grapes should have been 36+1.45lbs , that is almost 37.5 lbs. All my cases were between 1lb and 7 lbs less than expected. I am missing at least 70lbs of grapes. How do you let that happen? This is outrageous , I called the warehouse in Carol stream and talked to the manager , a lady , and left message for Vince. I called the Naperville store where I got the grapes and left message for Dustin , all that happened Saturday . Up to now I did not get a call back. I make my wine based on the weight of the grapes and now I am short considerably . This is not right . Pls help to get two more cases of either merlot or Tempranillo, prefer Tempranillo , they looked much better quality. And those cases made of plastic had all the walls filled with water to make them heavier with water, not grapes . Not cool ! I need to trust you . My friend who also got grapes from you, experienced the same issue , warned me, and the store did not want to put them on the scale . No wonder. Please solve my issue as soon as possible since this is a timely process and I would like to have the right amount of wine . Supposedly we are going to get an Angelo's out in Orland Park so we had to try an area store ... and we certainly liked what we saw. We visited the Angelo's out in Naperville, and all we can say is we can't wait for an Orland Park edition. Angelo's is a bit like the Pete's Fresh Market that we visit in Broadview ... they have all the usuals, they include a number of ethnic offerings, and they don't miss any of their customers wants and needs with a nice selection in a clean and commodious store. The Naperville store is a large layout with a central section offering a lot of the general selections, with a number of side rooms - around the central section - that contain the specialties ... like a bakery, a fish and seafood store, etc. Really liked this layout as it made it easy to maneuver once you got the blueprint down. Angelo's was a very nice grocery store, filled with all the modern wants ... give this place a try and you won't be sorry. read more

This review is for the online shopping app and service ONLY. Caputo's food is generally good; however, the online shopping experience is quite bad. My suggestion to Caputo's is to copy the online shopping app for Target. They have mastered the experience where it is excellent. It is updated in real time so there are no surprises because you get to pick your replacement for out of stock items. Here, consistently, I get home and don't have what I ordered, they replaced it with something I didn't ask for, and generally so many mistakes in filling my orders. Consistently bad where I'm going to have to try other grocery stores in the area. One would think this app would have been refined and perfected during the pandemic; I guess not. read more

I've been wanting to get to Naperville for years. The list included a stop at Caputo's. When you walk in it looks like a modern Italian Whole Foods. But the design was a little overwhelming for me. The outer circular Floorplan is like a maze with pods of different sections and I found it difficult to maneuver and cover all of it thoroughly without backtracking. Didn't find any great prices like I usually do at other locations. The deli had two sides to it and the one side we were waiting on didn't have any staff nearby so we had to go to the other side to order items on the unattended side. Bakery was rather small compared to other locations and the bread was not constantly fresh baked such as Lake Street. I did not see one employee during the entire visit to ask questions. They are for a very expensive made to order deli sandwich, which didn't make sense to me when you can just buy all of the ingredients and make your own sandwich for much much less. The checkout was also quite confusing as we were standing in one lane which appeared to be not a lane at all. So we got into another lane and by the time we got to the front we realized it was 12 items or less and had to move to a 3rd lane. Now I know other locations are much more user-friendly and fun to shop. Perhaps this is how they cater to the clientele in Naperville and what they're looking for possibly. read more

In the Naperville store, Elise manages the floral department. Her arrangements are absolutely beautiful! She hand paints the vases and her creative talents extend to how she creates colorful and artful arrangements. Compared to other floral purchases I've made in the past, I feel the the arrangements by Elise at Caputo's are a very good value. Elise is a pleasure to speak with. I actually really liked the store, but that has changed. The last two times including today 12/09/2020 the same older gentlemen butcher was wearing his mask around his neck. His mouth and nose were not cover. The other person did not have his nose covered and did not wear glove when hamdeling meat before giving it to a customer. Not happy with Caputos delivery. I had delivery with them today. 10.00 delivery charge and nice tip for driver. They left off half my order. Not happy. Called Corporate office and they said I spoke to CEO, and he ended up hanging up on us. I have to wait now to get my money back. Buyer beware!! Ive had many rude interactions with the front end worker karen. Perfect name by the way. This lady is known to complain and argue with and about customers when they enter her checkout line, ask a question, and other basic dialogue. She ends each interaction with a snarky "yeah, GOODBYE". It made others in the checkout line uncomfortable. She is often seen wearing a dirty uniform. This is terrible service from the front end... aside from this lady, the store is extremely choppy and difficult to navigate. Id rather drive the extra ten minutes to walmart. I love Caputo's! We drive the 40 minutes to shop here mostly every Sunday. The selection of food is amazing and they have a lot of things that you cannot find in other supermarkets. My favorite is their homemade bread crumbs and their homemade fresh noodles (the spinach noodles are divine!) We always go to the little cooler in the corner of the deli and buy the cheese and meat ends and my husband and I eat them on the way home and try to guess what each meat and cheese is. One thing I must give attention to is the sausages in the meat department are the best I have ever had! The hot giardinara sausage is outstanding and if you catch them on sale you can't beat the price! The only downs to Caputo's is the last couple of times I've been here, the people at the deli are very unfriendly and the wait times at the registers are long.Other than that, this is my favorite market around! read more

Everything's bigger in the burbs, and Naperville is the leader. Leave it to Angelo Caputo's Fresh Market to take lead in the grocery store sector. Gosh, huge fruit/vegetable selection, international products (aisle by country!), luxurious bakery, large deli, central cafe, $1 aisle (my favorite!), liquor section and the aisles keep going on and on. After all, "fresh is their middle name" and this is obviously. Not to mention that I love the parking lot cart parking with simple curbs. If only Caputo's was closer to where I live they would make grocery shopping much more enjoyable. Oh and my partner's family often orders food for their humungous family from here for family functions. All their food is delicious and reasonably priced. It is not handicap accessible at all the way they have it laid out. Worrying too much about form over function. There was displays blocking aisles everywhere and the main aisles were too narrow for people to pass much less account for the self absorbed Naperville A@@holes who don't pay attention to anything around the,. I was there with someone who needed assistance with a scooter and they spent the whole time sitting in the corner out of the way while I ran from dept to dept to get the food. I can, and have spent hours here! If it's possible to be in love with a store, I am! Huge selection, quality name brands, tremendous variety to choose from in each section, lots of organic and gluten free products and more choices and significantly lower prices (in my view) than Dominicks or Jewel. If there is a drawback it's navigating through the throngs of people who are there on the weekends. I've found it to be a much more relaxing shopping experience to go on weekday evenings. The deli is awesome! To correct an earlier review, the deli DOES carry Boars Head brand as I was there today and purchased some of their product. For health reasons, I've gone organic and gluten free and there is a wide selection of both, much more than you'll find in the mainstream grocery chains. At Jewel or Dominicks, I don't struggle at all to spend $100+ when I go there, even when I'm trying to keep costs low however, I've left Caputo's on several occasions with a cart load of groceries that cost me $60-75 dollars that I know would have cost over $100 elsewhere. There are only two things keeping me from giving Caputo's a 5 star rating. 1. Two separate recent trips to return fresh cut fruit that didn't taste right. In both cases, Caputo's cheerfully refunded my money, no questions asked. The service I received was terrific but having to make two trips in a week to return bad fruit was an inconvenience. 2. For the top quality they carry in the other departments, I was less than impressed with the quality of their beef. Much of it appears to be of low quality that no doubt allows them to price it low but the beef department doesn't measure up to the rest of the store. The fresh fish is fantastic however. I highly recommend the fresh Salmon and Tilapia filets from the counter. When I need more than a couple of items, I make the 20 min ride to Caputo's. It's well worth it! read more

This isn't my regular grocery store, but I love coming here when I have a little extra time, need something special, or want the best deli and Italian food options. The last time I paid Caputo's a visit was a couple weeks ago. I was looking to put together a nice gift basket of goodies for my Italian grandmother for Christmas, and totally hit the jackpot here. These are some of the delicious items I bought... - Salami - Italian soups - Italian cookies - Crackers - Chicago root beer - A snowman mug with a plant in it It was great! So many things to choose from. The deli here is my favorite. It's huge and they have tons of meets and cheeses. Plus, they offer fresh pre-packaged snacks and meals like lasagna, soups, dips, and more. The bakery is great too. Lots of delicious sweets and breads to choose from. Some other standout features include a wide variety of fresh salsas, a snack mix bar, great produce, and an awesome wine and beer selection. They also have aisles divided by cultures, so you can easily find Indian food, Asian items, Polish snacks, or whatever it is you're looking for. I wouldn't come here for household items though, only because you won't get the best deal or have as many options as a typical grocery store. In the center of the store they have a coffee bar which is a nice touch. I personally love enjoying a coffee while browsing the store. Service is always fast and friendly too. My only complaint about Caputo's is the layout. It's not easy to browse at all especially with a large cart when it's crowded on the weekends. It's hard to find things too if you aren't used to the store, so I just wish the layout was more accommodating. read more

Great selection of produce (except organically -- a very weak spot) and reasonable prices on desirable brands but marred by absolutely terrible deli service. It's almost as if they're actually trying to be slow. There is almost no one here in line yet I'm at the counter on minute 24 awaiting my turn. I think part of the issue is the meat locker. It seems every order requires a trip to the fridge which, to the best of my guessing, must be in Oak Brook because it takes so long when you hear those dreaded words. And, hilariously, I was just served and the guy has to go to the locker for Boars Head hard salami. Status quo. I'm very hopeful management addresses the wait issues. We always loved Caputo and travel (a 40 minutes trip) to buy their products, especially their produce. Sorry but I have to write this! Two weeks ago my husband who loves "Red Haven" peaches, went and bought 20 lbs., planning to eat, freeze, etc. The peaches were "Bad...nasty" they did not taste like peaches!!! My husband was upset non only for the long ride, the wasted money but also for what he thought were Red Haven" My husband he is a really nice person and said I will let Caputo know about this, so they can do something about other customers. Forget it! He wrote, on their website a brief note about the peaches. Nothing from them! The only thing he wanted was a call or a note saying: Sorry for your incontinence, hope will be better next time, thanks for let us know". That was not the case, so no more Caputo for us! But after we ate even just a little pieces which we throw the rest out, both my mom and I got severe diarrhea later.
