When I arrived I found her space so neat and beautifully decorated! It was very cozy. She took the time to ask me how comfortable I was with makeup (I never wear ANY on a normal day), what I envisioned for my hair, if there was a theme to the wedding and so much more. Basically she really wanted to connect with me and figure out what I truly wanted. I loved that! She started the process and walked me through everything she was doing, making sure I was comfortable and happy. At the end of my appointment I was so pleased with her work! She is so talented! Everyone was friendly and it was a nice looking salon. I have thick and curly hair. The blow-out was okay, but not as smooth as I usually get because the stylist cut corners by drying much of my hair with her fingers instead of working the brush more (i.e., the "lazy gal" method). My hair looked good to me, but not the silky smooth I'm used to getting. I returned to FL a few days later for some color work with my regular stylist. When he had finished blow drying and flat ironing my hair, he said, "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to fix that haircut you just got - it is very crooked." I thought he was just being a stickler, but he took a close up picture of the back of my hair and showed it to me. It was totally crooked. Then he pointed out the sides, which were also choppy and uneven. I was upset because I had paid quite a bit for this hair cut and given the True Colors owner a very good tip. Several of my friends and work colleagues go to my regular stylist. My regular stylist apologized again for insisting on fixing the haircut I got at True Colors Salon, but he didn't want anyone to think he had given me that bad hair cut. I let him fix it. He didn't charge me anything, but I paid him extra for his effort because it took a while for him to fix all the mistakes. I won't be back and I doubt Cindy Lauper would ever go to True Colors Salon.
