The problem was that I gave my contractor several checks for various services he provided. Chase put a hold on these checks and wouldn't release the funds he needed to buy materials to complete the job and tried to withhold the funds for the full ten days, delaying completion of my job. They required me to go to one of their branches with my contractor. I did so and the person identifying herself as the assistant branch manager kept us at a teller window conducting our business in public instead of taking us to a more private location. I provided the requested two forms of identification but she couldn't get me identified. After 15 minutes of this nonsense, I took my credentials back and left. She was rude.

It has two ATM drive thru lanes and a bunch for actual tellers. It is a tad difficult to enter and exit (Enter from Clearview), but there is a red light that will help. I arrived at the drive-thru a few minutes before 12:00 noon and was behind a white pickup truck. When I pulled up, the truck appeared as though it was about to leave, but instead the driver placed the vehicle in park and remained there for several minutes. After 12:00 noon, the driver then sent an empty canister to the teller. When I pulled up immediately afterward, the teller refused to respond or assist me in any way. This was extremely frustrating, especially since I was present before the noon closing time. I then contacted customer service to report the incident. I waited approximately 20 minutes to speak with a representative, who showed little concern about what had occurred and did not seem interested in documenting or addressing the issue. This experience was unprofessional and unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is not the first negative experience I've had at the Elysian Fields Avenue location, and it has left me seriously considering moving my banking elsewhere. Chase bank's app and signage in their branches really try to position them as a bank for the common person. But their emphasis on "private clients" - who apparently have more status than the "common man" - and their emphasis on "wealth management" give me concern that they actually are primarily a bank for rich people Today Tenesha offered me a perfect combination of very polished and professional presence with natural friendliness. She told me that she is beginning to move from simply being a cashier to also being a banker. I like the model at Chase that has people switching up roles. I could see her being a wonderful banker. When I asked to get the card for one of their bankers, so that I would have personal numbers to call when the 800 number lets me down - as it has on occasion - she gave me the card of Jennifer Martin. I am going to be in New Orleans for another two or three months and have business dealings in the Audubon Park neighborhood.
