The highest…read moreis a very well known gutter company in town, and I'm sure their quality of install would have been fine; however they were big on the upsell for "the better hanger", "this doo-dad to guarantee your gutters will never fall off" etc. The other company that was much closer in price but still higher than Austin Seamless Gutters (ASG) didn't give me any warm fuzzies at all; I asked leading questions expecting some kind of substantive answer and got not much in return. They might have done a wonderful job, but you would never know it from talking to the person who showed up. And that's when Neil walked into the picture. Neil is the owner, and came out to review the job and provide an estimate. Since I work for a company of 240,000+ employees I can definitely appreciate someone who still takes such a "hands on" approach with their company 30 years into it. Neil had the right balance of giving me information, listening to my needs (we were hooking up to two 1600 gallon rain tanks so the engineering to get the water from the entire rooftop to them was not insubstantial), and being concise. He gave me a quote, I discussed it with my wife, and we agreed to have ASG do the work. We scheduled and one of Neil's employees showed up when he was supposed to. Because of the long runs to the rain tanks we had a mix of 5" and 6" gutters so he had to do the job on two separate days, but that was to be expected. He was efficient, easy to talk to (I have a habit of wanting to know everything about everything ... I'm working on it) and did a fine job on the install. Since the job spanned two days I had the opportunity to talk to a neighbor who had the "well known" more expensive company do their gutters. Just as an aside - they were not happy with what they got for the price! I discussed a "spacer" that the other company sold to them to put behind the gutter about every 2 feet; with the long runs we had going to the rain tanks I called Neil and asked him about them. He said that there is no need for them and they are just a way to pad the bill. He reminded me that he warrants the gutter workmanship for 10 years and the materials for 50, so if he thought there was a chance they would fall off he would have sold them to me! Since he's been accredited with the BBB since 1989 and still has an A+ rating I'm going to believe him. Great experience, good value for the dollar and just all around good folks to do business with. Wish there were more companies like this out there ...

I ended…read moreup choosing Austin Seamless Gutters (ASG) for four reasons, and it turned out to be a great decision. 1- Almost half the price of the big boys--about $1000 less. 2- Experience and guarantee.--The proprietor (Neil Greinert) has been around for many years and guaranteed a good job 3- Wait time--While the other guys would take weeks to come to my house, he was able to come do the job in a couple of days from when we contacted him. 4- No unnecessary salesmanship. While the other guys wanted to give me fancy presentations and really sell their service, Neil was very to-the-point with his estimate and service. When the work was complete, which took under 1 day, I was very happy with the result. Everything was to my specification and the quality looked just as good as what I would have received from the competition. But I paid a lot less, and that is value. Highly recommended.
