Chronically slow and/or understaffed. Today I sat behind a car and ran the stopwatch from the minute it drove over the bay until I pulled in for service. 35 mins for the car in front of me- granted no way to tell what service they were getting. I get the sense there are two or three employees here that bust hump and take pride in their work. I'm thinking I can find somewhere else that functions closer to average speed for an oil change. Usual spot(s) were busy and I needed to bang out a quick oil change for a very impromptu road trip. All of my interactions with the staff were quite positive and I appreciated being able to hang out in my car, particularly with Delta going crazy these days. They did a nice job of clicking right along and offered me a couple extra services, which didn't really make sense considering I chose not to leave the car (kind of like grocery stores offering me samples to consume when I'm wearing a mask LOFL), but it's part of the gig. Definitely go online to get a coupon before going, though...they also did not try to upsell me (other than for a totally useless tire rotation, which I did not have time to do, in any case) and were generally both swift and efficient. I don't know what else I could have asked from them, really. Very solid and it's nice to have a backup to my usual spots. read more

They went ahead and changed my oil without telling me, then tried charging me almost $70! I get they may have to charge a higher price, yet that should be discussed beforehand. Two of my cars have had to been fixed by someone else because jiffy lube did not offer a good service, the recent one left me in the middle of the freeway because the oil tab was misplaced and the car basically ran out of oil because of it and the engine won't work, don't ever come here for anything, even a basic oil change, also I changed my brakes oil, and the brakes wouldn't properly work after that, so I had to pay someone else to fix it. This location is amazing. I've been going here for years and this last time they especially went above and beyond. You always get the standard kindness of walking you to the wait room, opening doors for you, explaining everything they did and what options you have. They don't try to up sell you or pressure you into anything. The wait to get in is usually quite short and they are very efficient about getting you taken care of and on your way. Last week I went I was there for a simple emissions and registration renewal. They were about 10 minutes from being done and I said, hey is there any way you could tighten that squeaky belt? Turns out that I had a bolt broken off and they spent an hour muscling it out and replacing it- FOR FREE. About every 15-20 minutes they checked with me to let me know what was going on and showed me what they were doing. Each time I said to not worry about it and I felt bad and could take it somewhere else. They insisted it wasn't a problem and were so gracious and kind. I was floored. They bring new meaning to the phrase "going the extra mile" The waiting room isn't fancy, but they have water and coffee and candy machines and TV, everything you would need in these smart phone times of life. Speaking of the TV, I was there over an hour like I said, and it didn't repeat it's loop once. I know this is minor but I really appreciated the thought that was put into that. If you gotta be waiting a while, it's nice to not hear the same thing 50 times over like some sort of audio torture. Anywho. Take your car here. read more

This location is close to my home and work, so despite some bad experiences I have come back. This was the last straw. I was getting a safety and emission on an old Porsche, where it has been inspected before, and was told it would be just a few minutes. With that in mind I decided to wait rather than walk across the street to my office. An hour later some belligerent guy just says, the mirror "won't hold an adjustment" so it won't pass. I tell him it is the same as last year and he says that they should have had me fix it then. Get outside and the mirror is practically hanging off the side of the car. No response from them on how it happed. With no solution other than, "go have it fixed and bring it back for inspection". While waiting I heard them try and scam multiple people into things they did not need. Should have just gone to a good garage (Millers, Plowgin, Regent) in the first place. I got new break pads & rotors on all 4 of my tires at the beginning of 2019 and it was a job well done, no extra charges. I go back here Feb of 2020 dealing with an ABS sensor malfunction, after they diagnosis what is going on they found and fixed a deeper issue with my car and charged me much less ($4-$500) than it would have been, even at my dealership. I am super impressed with Tim and happy with Kenneth's work. It is these two guys who sold it and make this particular location worth the while. Be very careful about this place, they tried to scam me out of a serpentine belt saying mine was split in half and was about to come off and they said they could replace it for $100 but I said no cause I can just buy my own for $20 and do it myself. When I looked under the hood the thing was basically brand new, not a single crack anywhere and they even stated on the receipt it was "split in half" I do have a small squeal from time to time but I think my tensioner is going bad. Always have them take a picture of something they say is going bad and show you when it's actually still on the car cause I wouldn't doubt they would've had a split belt laying around to show me if I agreed to have mine replaced and just left the one on my car still. Please be careful about going to this place for more than an oil change, I wouldn't even trust them to rotate my tires properly. read more

First, they wanted to put in the wrong weight oil for my car and I had to point out the correct weight per the owner's manual. Then came then upsell for the synthetic oil. After three times of saying no, they finally gave in. It's a 2013 Ford, regular oil is fine. Then, I need a new air filter. Really? I replaced it 5 months ago. I've been taking my car here for the last year to get oil changes and haven't had any issues. They're pretty quick and I've never had any real problems. Last time I brought it in they suggested I get a tire rotation and I thought it was a good idea. I paid something like $20 to get the tires rotated and they didn't bother to check if they were balanced. I wasn't aware the tires weren't balanced until I took my car on the freeway. I ended up having to drive about 70 miles at 55mph that day. I took the car back a few days later and expected an apology and a quick balance. Turns out they don't have a balancing machine and basically told me off for asking to get my tires balanced. I thought maybe they'd give me a refund for their mistake but instead I was told to go somewhere else to fix it. After taking my car into a tire shop they told me two of the tires were on backwards. I'd never recommend anyone go here after this experience. I'm still shocked they allow people to pay them for half of a service. It seems ludicrous, but I guess that's the car repair industry in a nutshell. read more

I paid for both only to be told that they couldnt pass me on emissions because they could not find the place to plug into underneath the drivers seat.. (I checked and it was there, just hidden). I would never use this place again. I went in because I had a bunch of gift cards from Costco and needed my brakes redone. I thought that would be a good way to use the gift cards. They asked if I wanted just the pads or both the pads and rotors. I told them just the pads and they said they didn't do that. So I told them to do the pads and the rotors. They did an estimate on the pads and the rotors and gave me an estimate and said it would be 2-3 hours. Flash forward 3 hours and they came back to me and said they didn't have the parts to do my front breaks so they had to go get them. They said that it would be another 30 to 45 minutes. Well, another hour and a half later when I demanded an update, they said the brakes were done and they had just started the emissions so it would be another 30 minutes. I was in that place nearly 5 hours for a 2-3 hour estimate. Then to find out, they had added services. They also decided to change my brake fluid and charged me $80 for it. I never asked for the service and certainly never would have had them do it since it had already been done a couple weeks before. If my service wasn't bad enough, during my 5 hours in the waiting room, there was a woman who came in to pick up her car. After about 10 minutes in the waiting room she popped her head into the garage and said "I'm here to pick up a car". Some mechanic said, "We'll be right with you." About 15 minutes more of waiting and she just walked out the front door in frustration. I hope she had another key and just drove off because they wouldn't let her pay and leave. Eventually they did come in to help her, but she was long gone by then. Avoid this place. They will make you wait. They will rip you off. They won't even care. read more

I stopped in for an oil change. I instructed the tech that I had a Groupon certificate for a discounted oil change for $30. He said that they would take the coupon at check out. After getting my vin they pulled up my account. I said to do the regular oil change as before. Once they had pulled my car into the bay another tech came to me and said that if they used conventional oil that it would void my warranty. I argued with him and said that is not a true statement. He even said that all cars built after 2010 had to use synthetic oil which is a blatant lie. They were trying to up sell me Purely for additional profit. How many people do they do that to on a daily basis? Wow. I told them that I would only accept conventional oil. Then at check out they said that I owed them $72 and that they didn't accept Groupon, after doing the work. I demanded to see a manager but there wasn't ont there. They then charged me $50, I paid and exited. That is fraud, pure and simple. Please beware when using this facility. I am still shocked at what was said and what transpired. read more

This location stripped the drain plug on my BMW and let me leave telling me that everything was good. The tech had the manager go down under the car and after a long time they said everything was fine. Of course it leaked. I had to pay a shop to remove the oil pan from the car and repair it. Then install a new plug and gasket. read more

So I initially posted a 1-star review due to the safety check I had concurrent with my oil change. The oil change was fine but Jiffy Lube found a minor defect with the ball joint on my car which they initially issued a "rejection" code for my safety check. I was upset as there was no communication as to the issue during the inspection. When I went to pay, they simply handed me my "reject" letter and said I had to get it fixed. I would have preferred a little communication ahead of time telling me there was a problem and advising me to go to a facility where they can both execute the safety check and facilitate a repair option. So why did I change my review? Shortly after my first post when I was unhappy with how the safety inspection transpired, I received an unsolicited call from Tim - the manager of the Sugar House Jiffy Lube. He wanted to set up an appt with me to double check the work. I have to say the fact that he even bothered to follow-up was impressive. Tim was not working on my initial visit but, from what I saw at the follow-up, he is running a tight ship from a service perspective. He changed my mind. read more

My car started making the most horrific metal-on-metal sounds out of the blue, late on a Saturday afternoon. Of course the sound went away before I got to the local Jiffy Lube, but the manager took it seriously and went above and beyond to investigate and determine that the car was safe to drive. (It turned out the problem was the guard behind the rear rotor somehow started rubbing on the rotor.) I've always had great service at this location. read more

Desiree was great! She greeted me promptly. I told her about how my tire sensors were being weird and I didn't know how to check them or add air to my tires. I offered to pay and she said she'd help me. Within a matter of minutes she had me pull into a stall, checked and filled all my tires... and get this she even offered to teach me. She showed me how to know the amount, where to check it, how to fill/remove air, and explained how the winter weather impacts my tires. I offered to pay her again but she said it was free of charge. How wholesome, I was in and out within a matter of minutes. Thanks for giving me peace of mind as I was super nervous to drive my car. I imagine she didn't have to help me, but she did.
