What I would not like to see is the floor of this place under bright sunlight. Heck, pale moonlight might even reveal too much. This theater had its day. It use to be THE place to watch a movie. Now it's cheap entertainment for those on a budget or those wanting a night off the couch. Really, the only reason to watch a movie here is because Redbox was out of the particular movie that happened to be showing here. Or maybe you just want to sit in the dark and remember that time you watched The Empire Strike Back for the first time and try to forget about watching The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in there as well. However, there was one faculty member in particular (Dr. Tara Mishra in IT) who freaked many of us out and I have been wanting to complain about him for years, but kept my mouth shut, because he has this way of gagging people via subtle intimidation tactics. If he felt like you were under his spell, he would make disparaging remarks about woman, certain races and faculty members who seemed to be on his perpetual shit list. He would then add humor to his statements so it wouldn't seem too horrible. Regardless it was unprofessional and many of us lost respect for him. He was constantly making bizarre comments about how his computer is acting like so and so in the department, his ex - wife or how the system was as inefficient as the chancellor. Sometimes students heard him howling at people on the phone before he realized someone was outside his door. At times he would try to drag others into some drama he was instigating with other faculty or students. That was way out of line!! If you did not concur with him he would act like an over-inflated peacock and brag about his stellar academic history and position. This would be followed up by tales of his big shot professor brother from Australia who had powerful 'connections' so he doesn't have to worry. I perceived this as if you don't play my game, I'm going to seriously mess you up. Well I will be leaving the country PERMANENTLY, off the grid for awhile so I am taking the opportunity to get this off my chest! If his big shot brother is that desperate to track me down for speaking my mind, he has more issues than 'Dr. Mishra'. Dr. Tara Mishra, Its pathetic I have to use an alias to make this review, because I know he probably would track me down. Future students watch out for this guy! He will try to get to know you by finding out the troubles in your life and offering you saint-like assistance. If you make the mistake of telling him your problems or accepting help from him (I mean other than typical academic advising). He will carefully file all this information away and be especially nice to you. Gradually he will try to reel into some political game he is playing on campus. I have heard of him going as far as coercing people to outright lie for him (even in court). I believe he only does this to select people with whom he's been able to play on their vulnerabilities. I think that because many people who do deal with him have never heard or seen anything to give them a negative impression. If you want to have an academic relationship with him, your fine. He's pretty smart, but NEVER tell him about your sick grandma, your impoverished parents or ANY personal problems. If you do you will be the proverbial frog in water that gradually reaches boiling and become his puppet.
