I was in need of replacing one valve in my irrigation system and was quoted $488 from the company that installed it 3 years ago. After getting a recommendation to call Jimmy, I am so glad I did. This service used to be good, but no more. They seem to hiring cheap labor -- workers show up hours later (if at all) and show up drunk -- incapable of doing the work. Big mistake to sign seasonal contracts with them too. Once they have your money, they could care less about the service they provide and don't know how to return calls either. They even claim working sprinkler heads are broken just to charge more. Stay away from this company. read more

We used Jimmy last year and the service was great. Prices were fair, work was prompt. Since we were happy with the service we signed up for spring and fall annual services. This spring we didn't hear from the company so I called. After no response I called again 3 days later. After 6 days I went out and carved all of my sprinkler heads out myself. 2 hours. The next day, after the work was done, Jimmy calls back. Out of respect for our contract I told him he could still come and check the valves and boxes. I was extremely clear about telling him I had already gotten all of the heads popped out. He said he was coming on a Saturday at 11:30 am. Fast forward to Saturday morning 8 am and some random guy I've never met is walking through our backyard unannounced. I went out and told him he should at least knock when showing up 3 hours early. I went outside ten minutes later to talk to Jimmy's employee about a leaky sprinkler head and the guy was gone. I looked at my heads and saw he completely shredded about 2 inches of soil all the way around - even though I had gotten them all working already! He then left large clumps of ripped up sod allover the lawn. When I called and told jimmy what happened all he had to say was "so what do you want me to do?" I said I expected not to pay for the visit and asked for him to come back personally for future visits since this guy just roughed my lawn up and didn't fix anything. He said that was fine. About 2 weeks later we opened an envelope in the mail from Jimmy. It was our check back for the full season's work (spring and fall) and an obnoxious post it that said "put this towards the cleanup." My wife texted him, thanked him for the check and asked if we should be looking for someone else for the fall blowout, to which he never responded. He was suggesting that we should put our own money towards the cleanup of his employee's miserable work. The way the entire situation was handled was rude and unprofessional. I would give no stars if I could! This company came highly recommended by a co- worker and since my husband and myself are from Long Beach, we figured we would give them a call. I called a little over a week ago and spoke with Lori. She was quite pleasant. She said next available for an estimate was 5/19/22 at 5:30pm. I booked it even though both my husband and myself would need to leave work early. She said there were no Saturday's. I called earlier in the day to confirm the estimate but never got a response. Here we are at 6:30 pm still waiting. How difficult would it be to cancel. It shows a complete lack of respect for our time. I still have many friends and family in Long Beach and will spread the word that this company does not value their potential customers. read more

The reason why I'm giving Jimmy's Lawn service this rating is because he and his entire crew are excellent at what they do. I tried on many an occasion to "fix things my way". How hard could this be---- I used to install MRI machines for a living. While in the process I managed to break three sprinkler heads and cut one of the main lines. I was trying to save a few bucks. That was about 5 years ago. Jimmy and his team are always polite and respectful. They show on time and are very reasonably priced. read more
