Went to Jimmy's Pour House this morning for breakfast. Server and service was great and very quick. The spicy bloody mary is a must try. The breakfast was very delicious & was a large portion. If you get the breakfast burrito make sure you ask for salsa otherwise they won't give you it. The place is well kept and very clean. They have TVs everywhere and I got to enjoy the dog show on. The music choice was sad country. But played only the best dad country music. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. read more

Enjoyed a nice lunch here on a rather busy Wednesday afternoon. It was a bit loud for my liking but the food was still good. Service was okay, would have liked to see more friendliness from the staff but I know it's tough working with a mask on. Servers were rolling silverware right next to us, not the most pleasant thing to hear. I got a seasonal salad, all romaine lettuce but at least not iceberg. Went in, was waiting for my co worker to arrive, parking was a bit of a challenge as the lost was full and street parking as well. The greeters were polite and a manager actually helped us with getting a booth. My co worker and I were sat and greeting by a middle aged lady who was pretty patient and helped us figure out what we wanted. Drinks took a bit but the restaurant was packed so that's to be expected. Food arrived in a good amount of time and the server remained friendly and helpful the whole time. I didn't care much for the booths, they are really made for bigger people so we had to turn the table on an angle since he couldn't get in the booth and I had a lot more space on my side. ARE YOU KIDDING ME ???? This is ONLY for the wedding banquet I attended there, not the entire restaurant. It was a serene Saturday night, and following a lovely backyard wedding ceremony, we all went to Jimmy's for a celebratory meal. What the ..... ??? We went to the semi private room that was set up for 30 people, reservations were for 35, and there were 32 of us. Who flunked math class?? Stacks of chairs were up against the wall, making it a little crowded and tacky. The plastic tablecloth was tacky too. But here is the best? part : 1 server for all 32 of us. Yes we were there for 2 1/2 hours. We all ordered off the menu. Our gal was great, and moved along as fast as she could, but still, taking 32 orders takes a long time. And of course there were cocktails involved. So no one could get tipsy, as it took so long to get drinks. The Bride and Groom were treated no differently than anyone else. They should have been attended to first and constantly. The food was good and tasty, and they even had my flavor of wine, pinot grigio. No one complained about the food. Or the drinks. My co diner said the same thing happened before when she was here for a banquet. Only 1 server. Really, managers? At $7.25 an hour couldn't you spring for 2 servers? If it wasn't for our gal's knowledge of the menu and focused attitude, we would have been there till closing. My advice is that if you book a special event here, insist on a limited menu and 2 servers. The food is way above average, so don't discount this place. It is, however, very informal. My coworkers and I decided to partake in Happy Hour there and I was happy I came along. Tip: All drinks are $1.00 off during Happy Hour. Hip hip hooray! We rolled in a little after 4pm on a Friday afternoon and the place wasn't too packed. There was a good amount of people there but we were seated upon arrival. I ordered the Strawberry Long Island (it was highly recommended) and my coworkers got beers (they have a nice selection) and appetizers. The Long Island was refreshing and flavorful. It wasn't too boozy and was fruity in nature. My coworkers all enjoyed their tall glasses of beer. Y'all need to buy a basket of their waffle fries. They were perfectly seasoned and fried. My coworkers seemed to enjoy the fried mushrooms and nachos as well. To me, the nachos could have been more even when it came to the topping:cheese:chip ratio. The new interior of Jimmy's is beautiful. They have a new look that suits them well. The renovation was definitely a plus for them and although I had never seen their "old" look, I do like what they have going on now. I use to go to Jimmy's Pour House over 20 years ago. It was a fun, dive bar (cheap drinks, very worn hard wood floors, etc.). It was always a fun place to go. I went there again Friday night for the first time in 20+ years. It is definitely no longer a dive bar. It has been newly remodeled as well as expanded. It is now a place to go with your family for a meal as well as hang out with your friends for a beer. The food we had for a reception there was simple by choice (meatballs, chicken wings, sloppy joes, cheese crackers, veggies), but it was all very tasty. The honey BBQ wings were awesome. (They do have a much larger menu though!!!) The service was very good. They were very receptive without being in your face. We stopped for breakfast/lunch on the way home from Brainerd. The service was excellent outside of a couple of missed requests (no tomatoes on a sandwich, no American cheese). The ambience is like an old time Irish pub but it is pretty clean. I had the "Paddy Melt" and it was one of the best patty melts I have had - and I order them a lot. On this specific occasion though my boyfriend and I decided to try their brunch for the first time. Plenty of choices of libations. We went at lunch time and there were a fair amount of people. We sat down and got service right away. Menu has plenty to choose from. But a burger is what we came for. The Blarney for her and the Dublin for me. Food is very fresh and crisp. No pale colors or bland flavors. Prices are more than fair.
