Used Jim's Blinds to install blinds throughout our home and again a couple of years later ton install blinds in our sun room. Was sold on their product and lifetime warranty which is advertised on their website. One of the blinds failed so we contacted Jim's Blinds and was told it's not actually a lifetime warranty, but a limited warranty and our blind wasn't covered. Was then quoted a high price to replace the blind. We were actually looking to replace the blinds in the entire home soon and would have used Jim's Blinds but will now go elsewhere. I expected far more from this local company in business for 30 years. It was the worst experience ever. The installers did a good job installing the wood floors, however, they left dirty hand marks and glue all over the place and the wood floor was filthy. The quarter round moldings were cut at different angles which I later paid someone else to correct. I also paid someone else to correct the carpet on the stairs where they forgot to cover the backside of the top step. My neighbor and supervisor for the install said they took many breaks during the day socializing with their girlfriends in our driveway. The last day she came over to check on the job and found the worker's girlfriends relaxing on our living room furniture with their McDonald's drinks...extremely unprofessional! When my wife dropped by Jim's Flooring Depot in Lake Hamilton to pay the bill, the owner/manager was very rude to my wife. She wanted to hold back $500 until she had a chance to see the completed job and he said he would put a lien on our home if she did not pay the full amount right then. He literally snatched her charge card from her hand and ran it as debit and then refused to change it to a charge as she had requested. It was the most upset that I had seen my wife in many years. I should had stuck with the original price quote I received from another company in Lakeland which was $500 lower. But, I made the mistake of trying to keep my business local in this case. Would give a zero if possible. Hired Jim's to re-do a shower for me approx 30x30 ". Charged $1500.00 for this. People came out to do the work, looked at it and left. After a week or so one came out, looked and left. Another week or so passed and after many calls he finally came back and started. The job was finished finally. Wasn't too bad. However, he presented me with a bill which was $500.00 more than quoted. I called the salesman and told him I would not pay the overcharge. Originally I told him I wanted the original tile removed and the new tile installed over the mud base. After being told it would be nearly impossible I went along with installing the new tile over the old tile, which, by the way, saved them, many hours. Not only did it save them money but to try to charge me $500.00 more lit my fuse. Don't know how this business stayed in business for so many years with service like this. We got a beautiful high quality laminate floor, as well as gorgeous carpet in our bedrooms, and all ahead of schedule. When my wife and I started our remodel, we encountered obstacle after obstacle with contractors, scheduling conflicts and high pressure salesmen. At Jim's it was the exact opposite, they LISTENED to our wants and needs, found product that fit them, and our budget all at the same time. We were ready to buy before we even left the store, and when it was all said and done, it was a nice way to end an extremely stressful remodel. I highly recommend this company! read more

I recently had new laminate installed by Jim's Floor depot. I have never been so appalled by the lack of respect Jim, who is the OWNER, has for his customers. Rudest owner I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Very arrogant and wanted us to thank him for not installing laminate that was faulty and recalled, even though his manager, Micah, tried to have it installed anyway and it was the installer, Steve, who refused. A job that was promised to be no longer than 3 days, took 7 full days before it was completed due to the negligence of his salesman, who did not measure my house correctly, even though I told him how much square foot there was.The tile demo was started on the first day and we were unable to live in our home for 4 days longer than planned. Jim, the owner, decided to insult my intelligence when I asked for a receipt stating that I had paid in full. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more
