Jim's is a kinda out of the way spot in a strip mall off the main drag. The inside has a diner feel. Sandwiches are served in plastic baskets with red checkered paper. The Gyros are awesome. I wouldn't call this a Greek restaurant. I would call it a sandwich place that happens to have gyros. That's okay if you're expecting it and not hoping for things like falafel or hummus, which is not on the menu. The food itself is fine. The fries I got are clearly old fries that have been sitting out for a while so they're not great but the gyro (which comes either dressed the "Greek" way, with tzatziki sauce, feta, and tomato, or the "American" way which is dressed like a cheeseburger) is fine. A little heavy on the feta for my taste, but you take what you can get. The staff seemed nice though and generally the place seemed fine for a quick lunch. Just maybe don't get the fries unless you know they're fresh, and check the menu before coming so you know they have what you like. read more

In a town overrun with fast food options... Jims Gyros is a true gem! They serve up delicious gyros and I live for their greek salad! Place is small and tuck away, was busy in the late lunch hour. Ordered the gyro with everything and the gyro salad. The salad was big and well stocked with meat - satisfying to both myself and wife. Gyro was interesting as it was served with lettuce and taco cheese (the everything portion). Noticed others having the same and putting hot sauce on them. Perhaps a Nebraska flair on the taco. People just driving helter skelter. Small place and I got in before the lunch crowd. Staff all in masks. Same can't be said about all the customers. I went for the big Jim combo which was like a Greek burrito (large gyro). I suggest the hot sauce to give it a little kick. Fries were large crinkle cut and they had Pepsi products at the machine. We did have high expectations coming in but we were a bit disappointed with the flavor of the meat and Taziki sauce. This place is set way back off of the road. Missed it the first time. Small casual place, clean, there were no dirty tables and several of the tables were occupied with diners. Several types of gyros on the menu. I went with the beef and a side of pita & hummus and tazikie sauce. Got it to go. Got back to the hotel and was surprised at how much meat was on the gyro. Really really good fries. The baklava I tried was a bit underdone and didn't have that great baklava flakiness and was slightly doughy, but tasted heavenly with just a touch of cinnamon. The gyro was really good. There was a nice crust on the meat they seared on the flat top after shaving it off. Nice sauce. We live in Hastings and took our daughter, her husband, and three grandchildren, who are visiting us from Little Rock, AR., to Jims Gyros, in Grand Island, yesterday. We arrived a couple of hours after lunch time so had the whole place to ourselves. We placed our orders and everyone got exactly what they ordered. The gyros have so much meat in them that I asked for another Peta bread to put some in! The place (even the restrooms) was clean and the staff and service were great! All the way home everyone said how much they enjoyed the gyros and want to go back again! We have more family members coming from Colorado for a visit to see the eclipse on Monday and we plan on taking them to get the best gyros we have ever had! read more

It's a little small restaurant with delicious tasting food. I've always gotten the philly gyro, it includes mushrooms, green bell peppers, onions, steak and cheese. Jim's is a great gyro place. I have lived in several states and Jim's is one of the best gyro places that I have ever been to. The Phillies are very tasty and a favorite at our home. I would have given 5 stars but the fries are almost always overdone. Go to Jim's but don't bother getting the fries; I get it to go and get fries somewhere else lol. read more

Called them about 4 times every 15 mins from the time that they opened to place a large carryout order. They never answered the phone and I let it ring until it disconnected me. This place has really gone done hill. The food is good but the customer service is awful. I'm not the only one that has this problem. For someone who's business is supposedly not doing so good the owner isn't doing a very good job at making it better. I definitely won't be trying to order from them for meetings at work ever again. New owner is driving the business into the ground. Such a shame. read more

Gyros are the best I've had any place I've lived in the Country! Need to try the Greek and regular salads, they look delicious. Small, homey atmosphere where you can watch the cook (Jimmy) prepare your food. Employees are friendly and polite. Only negative I have is the side orders of fries or rings are very small in size/portion. read more
