If you're staying near the Clifton Hill area, shopping at Jim's No Frills is the best way to save money when you on vacation and don't want to buy every meal out. Jim's is a short driving distance or bus ride (Red Line) from the Clifton Hill area to Lundy's Lane. Unlike everywhere else in the area, parking here is free and there is plenty of it. On this visit we picked up some canned corned beef, English muffins, raspberry jelly, a variety of coffee, cookies, energy bars, potato chips, and bananas. Some items were priced at a great rate; however, some like egg's were astronomical, I think they were like $12 here and converted to $8 and change; probably an issue everywhere in CA right now. The store is very clean and organized, all of the staff are friendly. The store sells a bunch of diverse food and seasonings I don't usually see at my local grocery back home like Pork loin cornmeal thirds, pain grille a l'ail, Naan, mincemeat, Ketchup flavored potato chips and much more. If you are on a budget and don't want to spend $20-30 per person every time you eat near Niagara Falls, you can definitely save a few bucks by purchasing some groceries at Jim's and making yourself a sandwich or other snack Togo. read more

One of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've had. I was shopping with my friend, who was helping me carry a case of 24 bottles of water while I carried a case of 12 sparkling water. We went through the self-checkout, and I paid for both items. I even left with my receipt in my hand. As we were walking toward the exit, the cashier near the self-checkout loudly called us back and told us we needed to pay for the items. We both turned around completely confused because I knew I had already paid. After an awkward silence, another customer waiting at the self-checkout spoke up and explained that the unpaid items belonged to a different self-checkout and had nothing to do with us. It took another customer to point out the mistake. What disappointed me most wasn't the mistake itself--it was how it was handled. Once the cashier realized she was wrong, there was no apology, no acknowledgment of the embarrassment of publicly accusing a paying customer, and no concern for how the situation had affected us. She simply continued serving other customers as if nothing had happened. We were left standing there until I finally asked, "Are we good to go?" before being told yes. Mistakes happen, but customers should never be accused before the facts are verified. A sincere apology would have taken only a few seconds, yet none was offered. I have already contacted customer service because I believe this situation deserves to be addressed. I hope no other customer has to experience what my elderly friend and I did. read more

Anywhere we go we love to go to the local supermarkets. You find what you need at an affordable price. This supermarket in particular had funny signs up. I posted one I loved the most. They have a variety of produce and items in the store. The store is a good size and the cashier was super friendly. They use reusable bags it was 2.50 Canadian similar cost to the US reusable bags now. I liked this supermarket! Definitely recommend if you are in the area. It has a friendly vibe to it as well. Great grocery store only minutes from Clifton Hill and Niagara Falls. Plenty of parking. Everything you need for a quick shopping experience. We came here to get some items for our Airbnb that we were staying at. Prices are higher in Canada than they are in the States but we were able to get just about everything we needed. Although some things were cheaper a bag of chips was only a $1.50.! And they were oh so good.. But Eggs were. $8. Always best to get off the beaten path to find the deals. read more

NoFrills is becoming the worst grocery store in Niagara Falls. The store is outdated and cramped. We usually do most of our grocery shopping here for the past 15 years. After the way we were treated today and the lack of common sense policies, we won't be back. The parking lot is a mess. Walking to the entrance is dangerous. You have to see it for yourself. Cars turning, stopping to pick up people and most drivers trying to be cautious because of the store entrance location make it hazardous. When you go inside it is cramped. You can manoeuvre the aisles slowly as they are always difficult to pass other shoppers and staff that really don't make an effort to get out of your way. If you need a raincheck be sure you use the right register. We have had all our groceries scanned only to be told we are at the wrong register to get issued a raincheck. We now have to stand in line at the proper register for it. There is no sign up showing which register to use. Recently NoFrills put a huge sign at the door showing a "T" to look for on products that have a tariff. I looked all over the store for these products but didn't see any. I guess the sign was to keep people angry about the US. And we all know this was just a ploy to inflate prices.Gouging. They tried adding some self serve registers and it really hasn't helped. Now they only allow baskets at the self serve hmachines. We had 5 items in our mini cart and you couldn't even determine who was in which checkout lane. Again because the store is cramped and with only a couple of buggies in each lane and five or six carts waiting to even figure out what lane to be in. Three self serve checkouts were empty and no one was in line to use them. A blond woman employee very unapologetic made it clear that only baskets were allowed. CLOSEST NORMAL GROCERY STORE TO NIAGARA FALLS/Clifton hill. It is only 4 traffic lights away straight down on Ferry's street that turns to Lindy's lane, about a 29-min straight walk. It's a full local, not touristy, grocery store, with everything you typically see in a grocery store. I walked here bc we needed some fresh fruits & quick breakfast for the next morning. Good variety of prepackaged baked goods & pastries, but no freshly made baked goods or meals. Pretty good, basic selections of frozen breakfast (waffles, egg bites), ice cream, frozen individual meals, pizza, pasta, & other typical easy frozen foods. They also have prepackaged juices, canned goods, typical "American" chips, sausages, deli meats, cheeses, yogurt, TOFU, & vegan items. Got a package of chocolate wafers, 3 Sunkist oranges, 2 bananas, a pack of 4 glazed donuts, & Pringles for $10.68 CAD total! Only a fraction of the $20 pp buffet at at hotel! There aren't many grocery stores to choose from in the Niagara Falls area, but this worked out perfectly for what we needed. Very well stocked and had just about anything you could want. Didn't notice a ton of name brand items, but they were mixed in. We were just happy to get our case of water and some ketchup potato chips! :) read more

There are not many supermarket options on the Niagara Falls area for tourists. But this one fits the bill. They carry all of the basic necessities and while the selection of food brands is not great, they do seem to have everything. They are more like a budget friendly supermarket such as the ever popular Aldi supermarkets. There is no prepared foods section or in-store bakery. But that is fine. They do have your fruits and vegetables. I was visiting area as tourist and you are able to pick up many necessities that you would need. There is a large parking lot. You can access this via the WEGO bus on the red line or it is an easy drive over to the Lundy Lane area of Niagara Falls. read more

I went to 2 other "grocery stores" before trying here. This is the place to get some regular food in Niagara Falls. The No Frills name shouldn't scare you off, it is a full grocery store with what you actually need, it's just not a fancy up-scale store with a deli and wine department. Hey Jim's No Frills, You really need to find a different larger location. The location you are at is too busy on Lundy's Lane, not to mention a dirty unkept store with a pot infested parking lot. You never have the sales in your flyer available 90% of the time. Your produce SUCKS! You need to get more variety grocery's. Went into this location today because it was conveniently located near my work. I was charged triple the price for a wrong item that was added to my bill. I used up my lunch time doing this transaction and therefore it was not convenient for me to go back the same day. I called in to speak with customer service who, after waiting 15 minutes to get a hold of, put me on hold for another half hour. I was so disgusted by this gesture that i will not be returning to this location to shop ever again...especially if i have to deal with their customer service! This incident happenned to me on July 12th 2021 20:05pm. I was in line #2 with my groceries in front of a gentleman who was over-charged for an item so the cashier sent a runner to the aisle to see what the price was and indeed the item was the price the gentleman was claiming and she was arguing with him, hence she processed the item at the correct price because it was the right price the custy was saying it was. So came to the time to pay so he hands her a 20$ bill and she hands him less than she's supposed to, so he goes to her "you still owe me 80 cents", she goes "fuck" and he looks at me a little pissed and to not hold the line for me, says no worries and walks away (I couldn't belive it)! Then came my turn and all my items were already on the roller but the cashier had put an item over my groceries that wasn't mine, so when she begun to scan my items I said to her with sassiness "sorry dear that item isn't mine", she replied RELAX !!!!!!! ......, the whole store turned around and my face when red, I've never felt so disrespected like this in 42 years of living. I payed by mastercard and asked to speak to a manager, a manager well built with a shaved head came and asked me to explained the situation, I explained it like "the" above here and he was shocked himself but said something I couldn't agree with. According to him there is nothing he can do because now they are under a "union" and that is always protecting them apparently.., I said beg your pardon? His explantion to me was that a few times a week this happens and there is nothing he can do as if he is powerless on his employees, it's quite astonishing and I remained speechless in front of him. I cannot for sure speak for this man who was in front of me, but I clearly will never shop in that grocery store ever including all members of my family, this wasn't a first in there, I see mindblowing incidents in that place, I actually blame myself for even going there when there is Food Basics and Fresco which I believe are better but No Frills happens to be nearer my domicile. Another thing I also see when I go there that looks ridiculous and ennoying, is because of all the theft they got during the Covid pandemic, they hired these undercovers in there and there is one in question who's not too tall spanish looking who is always staring at people or hangs on the edges of aisle and stares at you so much I see people feeling uncomfortable like crazy, I once ask him "is there a problem buddy?". They should hire a more competent company for undercover work, this is so mambo jambo of a grocery store, they lost my business for ever and I am there every day if not every 2nd day with my familly but this did it for me, we are a familly of 7 and the revenue we brought that commerce is very high, you lost immense profits my dear Jim, I am pretty sure that gentleman in front of me will never walk in that commerce again, almost 100% sure. It's an old, old no-frills. Not much to say other than that. It's on Lundy's Lane which is a prime location for tourists and potentially the only one in the area for tourists looking to do some grocery shopping. Prices are usually pretty good like most no-frills stores. Parking is also plentiful at this location. read more

Okay so my boyfriend and I were out shopping one day, with his mother, and his mother insisted we go to No Frills. So No Frills it was! We were planing on making mushroom portobello(sp?) and we needed cheese for that. So we grab our mushrooms and Swiss, and pay. 20 minutes after we get home, my boyfriend checks the expire date....BB Aug, 14 2014 exactly 2 years expired on the same month and day. Yucky. I had an issue here last year when the store sold me recalled burgers and my son got sick and their excuse was the computer didn't scan properly as every ar code that is recalled should not allow you to buy. My son was not that bad so I left it alone. Last night I went in to buy canned goods for Project Share for my sons school and the lady at the register (who was not nice at all) I didn't say anything to her cause she was older was so rude and said you can't buy more than 10 items. I said I thought it was for sales items (which makes sense), but she said no can't do it. She gave me a dirty look and I said to her you can tell Ron he has lost more than one customer now and she said OK....did not apologize or care imagine. I will not be going here ever again no matter what. I wanted to add that I spoke with a friedn that works a No Frills in Fort Erie and they do not have this policy, only on sale items. read more
