The food quality here has gone so far downhill, it's not even worth smelling. I spent the last $83 I'll ever spend here the other night. Hell, I won't spend another penny at Jing's. I had to throw most of the order in the trash. I don't know how to describe how awful the product is. The meat was tough, the flavorings were all wrong, it was all just inedible! One of the worst things was... They coat the jumbo shrimp with a thick, sticky, flavorless breading that sucks the juiciness out of the shrimp! I'm not talking about the appetizer, I'm talking about the shrimp in the MAIN DISHES! I ordered both Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and Kung Po Triple Delight ($17 dishes, most expensive on the menu!) and they were RUINED by this GROSS COATING! It's too bad! I love this place! After moving to this area after living in Boston and Newton, I didn't think I'd be able to find good Chinese food...but I was pleasantly surprised. I love their pan fried dumplings and the fried rice and lo mein dishes are great! The people are very friendly and the take-out orders are always made quickly. Terrible experience - both service and food. Went for lunch - egg drop soup tasted like warm bath water, zero seasoning. I got the chow mein lunch special and it was a pile of "vegetables" that consisted of onion, bean sprout, celery, and carrots. With a side of crunchy noodles, the type you should spread on top of Asian food. I've never seen any chow mein look like this. There were no noodles. I visited the restaurant with an elderly guest. We ordered the lunch special. The first course (soup) arrived and was cold, not just warm but actually cold. I asked that it be reheated and when it was returned to the table it came with our appetizers and entrees - so much for pace and timing. Like the soup, the entrees were cold. I put my finger in the rice and discovered it was ice cold on the bottom and warm on the top. The meal was a disaster. The poor waitperson seemed to have no leverage with the kitchen and seemed unwilling to ask them (or the absentee manager) to remedy the situation. Alas, I paid the bill, tipped the young lady and continue my search for decent Chinese food in the greater Walpole area. read more

I am keeping my 5 star rating but would like the owners to know that the food I received on 12/31/18 was the absolut worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. New Years Eve is always one of the busiest days for any Chinese restaurant, I get that. This is what I ordered Crab Rangoon. Good,but cold Chicken Teriyaki. Dry Egg Roll. Ok This is where is gets bad. Fried rice with curry and Chicken. What I received was steamed rice topped with nasty curry sauce with frozen peas and carrots. So bad I'll probably never be able to eat curry again. Spicy Eggplant. Congealed sauted eggplant in an unpleasant sauce. Nobody liked this atrocity. Shrimp Shumai. 6 tiny pieces of frozen dumplings for $6. What a joke. I have had very good experiences with Jing Gardens, but not this time. read more

So bad I had to leave the same comment on here as Google+ Avoid this place is terrible Nice host. Only reason I went there the additional two times and in hopes that the food would actually taste oriental. I've probably been to 100 Asian cuisine restaurants in my life (I'm young) and I can say this is ranked at the very bottom. Food tastes bland and easy dishes like beef and broccoli tastes awful. I really don't know when the last time I went out of my way to post something negative about a restaurant, I actually don't think I ever have... If you want Asian cuisine I suggest you travel an extra two miles for real food. read more

Worst service ever. There were only two other parties in the restaurant and no one came to take my order for 15 minutes. Only 3 out of 25 wines by the glass listed were available. We live in Medfield and like to support our local businesses. After a take out order on Monday evening we won't be going back. Third time they have incorrectly filled a take out order. Three strikes anyone? This time it was a double order of Lo Mein and a forgotten order of an entree. The spring rolls were over cooked and greasy. I have only eaten here once but I feel I can do a review on this restaurant because I will not be eating here again. The prices are high(like everything in Medfield) and the quality of the food here is so poor I'm shocked there still open. The restaurant in clean and well kept so they have that going for them. Nor to the portion size ide say small to medium portions. Chicken fingers are overly batter think strips. The chicken wings are the worst I've ever had chewy and seemed under cooked with no flavor. Spare ribs were dry strips of over cooked pork. Beef teriyaki was very tuff I had to use a steak knife. Egg rolls have very little filling but they tasted good. Ordered on line. They do not accept Credit cards online. I knew this so I always call my cc in right after. Busy signal for 20 minutes. I added a note to my order to call me for a credit card. No call...finally I get through. She says she didn't have time to call. Fine...people get busy. 1 hour and more later...still no food. I call to cancel because at this point I am STARVING! She says my food is leaving now special delivery and it is cooked. Keep in mind this is 10 minutes away. 20 minutes later I recieve completely disgusting undercooked food. The Tsao chicken is doughy, the salt and pepper shrimp is pale and barely fried and the pan fried noodles are hard as a rock and completely not pan fried. The only decent thing was the pan fried ravioli. Needless to say over $60 later I have lots of trash. Never Again. They clearly rushed the food and I would have rather have been able to cancel. They lost my business trying not to lose a buck because they clearly were not trying to salvage my business. They said they would give me noodles 1/2 off but I could not even eat any of it. You typically suburban Chinese food. Exactly what you'd expect in the menu and it's just as advertised. Like the Egg rolls a touch greasy and slightly over cooked - probably from sitting there waiting to be ordered. Solid place for take out or serves as the local dive bar. My husband and I go here fairly often. We usually get a couple Mai Tais and have Crab Rangoons before ordering the rest of the food to go. It's friendly, clean, and yummy. I like how we can ask for non-spicy hot dishes to be hot. read more

The first bad experience: We placed an order to go for something like $50 which included chicken wings. Picked them up, brought them home, and found they had been fried so long that they were inedible. Had to drive back and they reluctantly replaced the order saying that there was nothing wrong with the wings. OK, maybe this was just a bad day for them. Second bad experience: We ordered something like $75 worth of food to go. Got home and found that they had not included a item that they charged us for. Called them to let them know and they asked us if we had checked the bag. Really...? Yes, oddly enough, we checked the bag. A total of x3 people checked the bag. I drove back to get my money back for the single item. They asked me if I had checked the bag again. My answer, oddly enough, was yes. Three people checked the bag. They pretty much implied that I must have been lying. I only got my money back (for the single item) after I insisted. Really... Given the amount of money that we have spent over the course of many years, you're going to create an unhappy customer for the sake of something like a $7 item? Well done. Went here on Sunday night first time. We wanted to do take out and waited in the bar area. Place is very clean and people are polite. It was however quiet empty so we hoped it was not the food. We had spring rolls, general Tao and sweet & sour chicken, with chicken fried rice. When we got home they forgot the spring rolls... not too happy. However the Tao and sour chicken were much better than we expected, in fact as good as China Sky where the prices are much higher. They also have sushi and sake, that will be for next time. read more

This was the second time that my wife and I ate a Jing's. We tried it for the first time about three months ago,on a very busy night in which we were late for an evening meeting and could not find a spot in nearby restaurants. We were favorably surprised by how promptly we were seated, served excellent food and on how reasonable was the price. So we decided to try it again yesterday and it looks to us that this restaurant is consistently good. The food is fresh and very good. The teriyaki specialties are worth trying, served on a hot broiling plate on a bed of onions. The udon noodles are also very good. The decor of the restaurant is casual and friendly. It is very clean, the linens smell fresh, much better than the average asian restaurant. Overall it gets four solid stars. Not five because I give five only to places who surprise me with outstanding flavor and quality, which Jing is yet to achieve. read more

I've been to Jing's Garden (formerly Grand Mandarin) for more than 15 years. Friday nights are our Chinese night. I go there for a Maitai or two and order takeout on Fridays after work. You'll find a wide variety of Chinese dishes, along with a good selection of sushi and other Japanese treats. Their beef teriyaki skews are the best in this area since they are grilled not deep fried as most Chinese restaurants do. People there are very friendly. And the bartender is super personal. I give it 5 for the food and Maitai--which is why I go out rather than make it myself. read more

This is the WORST take out I've ever experienced in my 37 years of life. Every single thing we ordered was terrible. The veggie tempura wasn't cooked all the way, still wet batter inside. The boneless spare ribs were all fat and tasted like nothing. The shrimp pad Thai had tiny frozen shrimp, it was dry and was basically just fried rice, but made with rice noodles and had some peanuts sprinkled on top. The egg rolls were greasy and over cooked. Zero! Zero! Zero! Quiet possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. Indescribable how awful this food tasted. The Kung Pao chicken was nothing but low grade chicken bits and way too many soft, soggy peanuts, we asked for spicy and got bland and greasy. The WonTon soup had a slick of oil on the top and arrived cold, I only live two miles away. There wasn't any soy sauce, hot mustard or fortune cookie. Thankfully, I'm sure that would have lacked any flavor. Needless to say, I will never eat here again nor will I recommend this to anyone, in fact I will make a point to review where I can about how awful this food tastes.
