Thai Boo is located right at the town center, with a big dining area and easily recognized signage. Parking can be challenging, because the street is so busy and the area has lots of restaurants goers. Some of my favorites include its chicken wings ad pineapple fried rice. For some reason, I didn't know Pad Kee Mao means Drunken Noodles. Ah, so happy they offer drunken noodle! The prices add up quickly. Haven't been here since the new ownership. The food is completely different and not for the better. The pad thai used to have fresh light noodles and now they are saturated. The rice was mushy, defiantly not cooked to order. The fresh rolls were very good. Never seen (or at least the old menu) asking what level of heat in rice and pad thai. Very loud music and atmosphere. It's a small place and tables are close to each other so not much privacy. A man asked "table for 3?" we said yes then he disappeared into the kitchen where we could see him through the window cooking. Weird. Then after a couple of minutes a woman came and said we needed reservations though their website did not say that. We agreed to a table "for an hour." Even knowing this the service was rather slow. Went here to try Thai, as it is getting harder and harder to find Thai restaurants outside the city of Boston. Ordered Thai chicken wings, these were good, but ambience wasn't something like most Thai restaurants that add carrots and onions on the side. Ordered pineapple fried rice with chicken, was very good and tasty. Ordered pad, Thai with chicken, also delicious and very good. Ordered pad Kee mao, this was my dish. The other dishes were all the restaurant goers at my table. This meal has a pepper next to it for spicy, if you order it, it will be three out of three spicy, if you want lighter gold, one or two. I must say this was an amazing dish had all the great flavors, yes, it burned my mouth out and I sweated to no wind. But it was so amazingly good and euphoric, it is rare that I use that term " euphoric" to describe how good something taste, but there is no other word for it, I would highly recommend this dish. Spices were just right and they can make anything spicy depending on the level of spiciness that you would want it. This spot offers some pretty amazing curry. Certainly the best Thai spot in town. The staff can be a little bored snd looks depressed but who wouldn't be in this climate and times. I recommend almost everything on the menu. Stay away from the apps, kind of overpriced and a bit of a rip off. One of my favorite items is the papaya salad, but it's pretty spicy so not for the tame; you must be a palate adventurer. Sticky rice? Yes please. If you don't get the curry you should be slapped around like you just robbed a child. It's so good it's like on Seinfeld from the soup Mazi, where you need to sit down because one bite makes your legs wobbly. Really. We did not enjoy our dinner last night. The food was not cooked well and had zero flavor. The fried dumplings were worse than a bag of dumplings from Costco, these were barely cooked because you can still see the skin wrap was white with the flour. The tofu drunken noodles / pad kee mao were soooo good. The tofu soaked up the sauce really well. The papaya salad was ok to me, not the best I ever had. Clean, nice atmosphere. Plenty of street parking. Food portions are small and their Thai food are decent. Doesn't seem like they get busy, if at all. Waitress was friendly (and it seems like she was the only one working). If you have any food allergies, please let them know especially if you're allergic to nuts (always bring your epipen!!!). Came here with my family to celebrate my moms birthday and we were all very happy with our food and service. My mom loves Thai food so coming here was a big success because they had everything we wanted. We ordered three appetizers, the Crab Rangoon, which oh my goodness we're delicious! If you are coming here and like Crab Rangoons from Chinese restaurants then you will love these because they are much fresher and authentic. These were by far the best Crab Rangoons I have ever had. The second appetizer we ordered was a plate of edamame, you can't really go wrong with this one. And the final appetizer were got was 2 of the fresh rolls with shrimp. This dish was probably the only one we didn't all go crazy for. I've had a lot of fresh rolls in my lifetime and these weren't anything special, nor as good as ones I have had before. They were still very yummy, we were just expecting more because of how amazing their Crab Rangoons were. Most of us ordered different curry dishes as our main meal and they were all very delicious. Their curry sauce has to have been the best curry sauce I have ever had, which is saying a lot because I love curry and have it whenever I can. The only disappointment I had was my salmon was a bit over cooked. Other than that, the service was great, the food was amazing, and the environment was very nice as well, very clean and tidy. The owner and also our server even laughed at my stupid joke when I ordered "iPad Thai Beef," which was fresh and tasty. Ordered spicy, and they delivered. We tried the Thai Boo Platter for 4. My favorite place for Thai!! Boo's Crab Rangoons are the absolute BEST. No one make them like her. Everything is clean & fresh.

During our outing for dinner at Thai Boo Cuisine out in Norwood, I hadn't expected a walk down memory lane. Turns out that while the predecessor to Thai Boo was Smile Smile according to Candice B.'s review, I had been here once (actually, several times) before, when it was the restaurant formerly known as Bistro 712. I actually yelped about it a couple of months after I first established my profile back in 2008. It was my 17th review. But now it is a Thai restaurant, with a smiley, friendly server handling about 12 tables - of which two were occupied upon our arrival - all on her lonesome. A Groupon deal had led us out this a ways, and to order an appetizer, two soups/salads, two entrees, and a dessert between the two of us. Except we made it two appetizers, and upgraded the 2nd salad to the larb by paying the $2 price differential. I loved both appetizers. The light and crisp scallion pancakes dressed with the yellow curry sauce dotted with diced potato was a warming textural sensation at $7.95 for the Yellow on Scallion Pancake. The Thai Coconut Shrimp $8.95 arrived as five butterflied creatures well battered and fried to a meaty crisp with tasty coconut shreds - yum! I'm so glad we decided to go with both! The seaweed salad $4.95 was a very good restaurant portion for the price. The Larb $7.95 (minced chicken, with mint leave, cilantro, scallion, onion and rice powder tossed in lime juice) was tasty, but at mild it was still much too spicy for me. Thus I ended up drinking two Thai Iced Teas $2.50 - and those are not free refills! The server, however, was kind enough to offer to have it remade for us ~ though I suspect that they just tried to doctor up the portion we had initially since it seemed to have come back on the same plate with the mussed up lettuce. And it was still on the spicy side, but we made do. Our entrees weren't quite up to par relative to the apps and later desserts. The Pad Thai with mixed veggie and tofu combo ($9.95 for one or the other, but not sure how much it was for the combo version) were of good texture and good still crisp colorful vegetables, however it was a bit on the too salty side of things. I asked the server to let the kitchen know so that hopefully they would be aware of it for the future, and she offered to have them remake it, but we didn't want her to go to the trouble. The Roasted Duck Curry $19.95 mild was a goodly portion of veggies with meaty crispy half duck. We added an order of brown rice for $2 with which to soak up the curry sauce, but it was unfortunately a bit mealy when consumed that way. The dessert menu came with photos of each in a tri-fold holder. Quite smart! To help us know our options, it was declared right off that the Thai donuts were not available that night. And since it wasn't mango season, our server kindly recommended that we forego my first choice in dessert. We ended up getting the banana spring rolls $4.95 with the scoop of ice cream $6.95 and it was yum! The ice cream had evident bits of ginger within the cool and creamy scoop. The spring rolls arrived as 3 rolls cut in half on the bias on a pool of honey. It was warm and light and crisp. A great way to end the meal! We managed to find a parking spot right on the street, but I spotted a sign pointing down Day Street for those who need a public lot. *** 8/2014 *** Head's up - they have a gluten free menu. It isn't huge, but it has all the most common Thai dishes in gluten free form. We got both a gluten free and a regular version of your ubiquitous Pad Thai - the gluten free version arrived darker, so they definitely do something different to them. read more

LOCATION: can't beat -- right off town center, easy access to/from R1, walk to/from train. DECOR: running on the fancier side, not a bad departure from the hole-in-the-wall kind of place. LAYOUT: the whole place has about 10-15 tables total + a tall-back booth that sits 6. it's quiet but cosy, and tables are not too close to one another. may get tricky w/large group walk-in; it may be wise to call ahead so they can put the tables together for ya. FOOD: good; many mildy spicy, as Thai food is. the portion size on the entrees (only had noodle dishes) are a bit on the smaller side. one of our noodles (i.e. pad thai) was a bit...bordering on gluey -- almost like if it was cooked w/too much (or too little?) water -- it was a bit sticky and did't separate at ease. STAFF: very friendly and polite; their English is a little efforted. VALUE: 2 appetizers, 2 noodle dishes = $40 + tips. not a bad deal. though, we added shrimps to a salad (for extra $), there were 2 shrimps -- a little cheesy. they have this frequent customer stamp card too: 5 visits = 1 entree free (up to $10)! but i hope this is not their last struggle to get people in there. coz last time i got one of these cards from another place, it was out of business quite shortly afterwards. @__@ would totally go back more frequently if i were still living in Norwood. why didn't i find out about this place sooner? Crab rangoons- lots of filling and very tasty. Beef Pad See Ew- big portion great for sharing. Tom Yum Noodle Soup- got vegetarian. I called Thai Thani a tiny restaraunt in downtown Norwood that we really enjoyed last year and asked if the were open yet. The lady says open 2:30. I said excellent and we drove to Norwood with much anticipation. Upon parking and entering at 2:45 was told they close at 2:30 and reopen at 5. LOL miscommunication. Still craving some Thai we found Thai Boo down the street. Very nice, clean and spacious interior, simple wood tables and chairs, a small bar and not another soul dining. Was greeted and seated by very polite waitress. As always I ordered the vegetable fresh roll which came sliced into 8 pieces with a light and tangy peanut sauce. They were chilled crisp and refreshing for an opener. Next came fried rice which had tofu and some cashews. The main entre of duck in yellow curry had pineapple and a just a mild spice factor. It was very good over the rice and I ate it all. Only complaint and the reason for the 3 rather than 4 was that we prefer crispy duck and they dont so that. The duck was too fatty in my opinion to enjoy. It also wasn't that generous a portion. Also I had a desire for fried ice cream but they don't do. Overall we enjoyed the experience, left full and content when we left. Might come back and if I do will try some Yelp suggestions, but most likely we will try and come earlier to make it to Thani. read more
