The staff is very knowledgeable, professional and attentive to the needs of each of their patrons. The community is a group of fun, already fit-minded individuals who are ready to get the work done. The workouts are structured in a series format which I love with evaluations at the beginning and end of the series so you can celebrate your success. Most importantly, the mindset is yes challenge yourself but make sure you work out smart so your injuries don't prevent you from working out and reaching your goals. The staff knows how to give you the proper modifications and there is no shame in modifying your w/o. Ya gotta start where you are. The place has a great sound system, it's clean, spacious, organized and there is even a cute dog there to play with before the workout begins. Lastly all the exercises are explained clearly! The coaches are experienced and knowledgeable, and the classes are small enough that they can give each member plenty of attention. They spend a lot of time going over fundamentals to make sure that each member is performing the movements in a safe, effective way. I can't say enough about the members! There's a great mix of young and old, novice and experienced, men and women... and they make anyone who walks into the gym feel welcome! Getting started with Crossfit can be an intimidating thing, but that feeling fades as soon as you meet the smiling, welcoming faces of the members there!

I've had three shoulder surgeries, breathing issues, and back issues. In dealing with these issues, EmPower has been by my side, on my side, helping me get strong again. Carla Beam, who is the General Manager at EmPower, has worked with me through all of my challenges, by altered my personal training sessions to meet my needs. She has worked with my physical therapist to ensure my workouts are helping my body and that I am not doing things to extend my recovery, which I probably would have if I was going to a 'normal' gym. As I write this review, we are three months into the COVID pandemic. Most of my friends are struggling to keep their strength training going, but I am actually getting stronger. When this all started, EmPower did not let their members miss a beat! Josh and Carla quickly started brainstorming and came up with a plan to keep members engaged and working out in their homes. They have offered live Zoom sessions many times throughout the week that have been awesome! I have been working out with EmPower about three times per week since this started, and I am amazed at the quality of every workout. I have very little equipment at home; however, Carla has come up with alternatives to using your typical gym equipment. And, every single workout has been different! I was doing Crossfit for a almost a year before I started at Crossfit CDI, and I left in better shape and stronger than I came in. Darren is an excellent coach who can help people of all skill levels. He is an extremely active coach who will help make sure you are using the correct form while simultaneously pushing you to be your best. With Darren having a background in physical therapy he knows the best way to avoid injury and will provide you with additional stretches and movements to help stay loose and active. Lastly, the environment of the class is very welcoming and everyone will introduce themselves. Crossfit CDI has built a great community that you do not find at many gyms and it makes going to the gym much more enjoyable.
