But they do not do roofing; they help with insurance claims then they out source the roof job to a different company. Colton and Ernesto of Cedar Valley Exteriors (CVE) came to my property with a company truck and assured me that they are a long standing roofing company. After filing the claim, then they disappeared for several months with intermittent contact just to assure me that the extra time was to find and get the best roofing product for me and my roof. When the estimate was finally completed four months after the claim was opened, and the job should be scheduled, no schedule came; only a request for tens of thousands of dollars as a down payment. I was feeling uncomfortable with this process and the company (CVE) who I learned knows little about roofing and especially about cedar roofs, of which I have. So I canceled. I understand that this was a blow to them so I gave the sales rep, Colton, $750.00 for his time and drone work because I felt that he had been counting on the job. Within days I received an invoice for a $20,000 estimate-cancelation fee from them. I also received texts and phone calls from the other guy Ernesto even though I told him I would keep my communications with Colton. Ernesto kept pinging my phone which I began to see as harassment. Also, I sold Colton a $20 product from my own home business and he said he would Venmo me for it, but he didn't. When I brought that up, he said he's not paying me because I "stiffed" him. No pulled permit, no materials ordered, no work done, no start date, and I gave the kid $750.00 for his time. I apologized a lot too because I felt so bad about canceling but I don't trust their roofing. I do not believe the representatives of CVE are honest or informed and look what happens when you cancel.

If you want quality work, excellent communication, and ease of mind, hire Build Pros. We originally wanted to have our microwave vented out (rather than circulating air and grease in the kitchen) and add a second banister to the stairs to the basement to make them more safe for our growing toddler. We were also considering having our spare basement bathroom remodeled. The bathroom really wasn't very functional because it was built in pieces (so the gross tiny stall shower wasn't even in the bathroom). That was a big job, and we wanted to get a quote for all three pieces. The first two jobs were too small on their own, so we hired Build Pros for all three. They were amazing to work with, and the work they did was the highest of quality. The team was extremely communicative, and we always knew when they were coming, what they were doing next, and what to expect. Their spreadsheet system made it really easy for everyone to keep track of what we had selected, costs, etc. They helped us a ton with design decisions, made recommendations when appropriate, and made sure we were happy with absolutely everything before moving forward. Our house stayed unbelievably clean, given the level of work they were doing, throughout the process. Mike and Rouben were fantastic at reimagining the layout of our bathroom, taking all of our priorities into consideration. John, their carpenter, is a master. We went way over budget, but a lot of that was my fault. I wanted a bathroom that was functional, but the more we talked and designed, the more I realized we actually could get a really *nice* bathroom that wasn't just functional, but high end. They did a bunch of other random things in the area too. We just were so happy with their work, and they were already there, so we asked them to fit in a few small things and they were awesome in getting those done too (adding a couple outlets in the adjacent home gym, replacing our outdoor water spigots, etc.). We are extremely happy with the final products. We even had a water problem shortly after they finished. They fixed it swiftly with no charge. It might have been a part issue or a labor issue, and so in the beginning it was unclear whether we were going to have to pay for repairs right away. I would have been very disappointed if they had charged us, and have all the more confidence in them since they fixed it and stood by the work and warranty. The only real negative was that sometimes when we had to make a decision, and the team gave us a quick "off the cuff" estimate about how much a few different options would cost, the estimate was really a fair amount lower than estimated. That contributed to some of our cost increase, but in the end I think we would have made the same decisions regardless. We're extremely happy with the final products. We even hired them again and they're starting work at my mother-in-laws house this week! I'm already dreaming of putting an addition on our house in the future, and we will hire them absolutely if/when we do this.

On the flip side, at one point, the owners/bosses appear. They were typical bosses wearing clean jeans, pointing, and talking. But then they decided to start removing boxes and wiring without asking anyone or considering the consequences, which resulted in the entire house losing Internet access. I work from home and ended up losing 6 hrs pay. They offered to follow the wires from the router to reconnect, but since they didn't know what they were doing initially, this failed miserably. If you hire this company, DO NOT ALLOW THE OWNERS TO TOUCH ANY WIRES!!! They proved their incompetence. Normal folks would simply disconnect the boxes, and reconnect. Beware!!

The employee arrived after 10:00 AM and told me he would send the estimate after returning to the office and entering the measurements into his laptop. I never received the estimate on Monday, May 19, nor during the entire week that followed or the following week afterward. I followed up again on Wednesday, May 27 in the early afternoon and spoke with a sales representative, who stated that he had my estimate and would send it later that afternoon because he was currently in Boston. As of 9:00 PM today, I still had not received anything. At this point, I no longer want the estimate because I do not trust this company. In my experience, the level of professionalism, communication, and reliability has been extremely poor. If the company did not already have online reviews, I would honestly question whether the appointment was legitimate, especially since the representative spent time inside my home looking around even though I was only requesting a new gutter estimate.
