Be very careful of Cedar Valley Exteriors. They promise you a new roof and that they will get your insurance to pay for it. But they do not do roofing; they help with insurance claims then they out source the roof job to a different company. Colton and Ernesto of Cedar Valley Exteriors (CVE) came to my property with a company truck and assured me that they are a long standing roofing company. After filing the claim, then they disappeared for several months with intermittent contact just to assure me that the extra time was to find and get the best roofing product for me and my roof. When the estimate was finally completed four months after the claim was opened, and the job should be scheduled, no schedule came; only a request for tens of thousands of dollars as a down payment. I was feeling uncomfortable with this process and the company (CVE) who I learned knows little about roofing and especially about cedar roofs, of which I have. So I canceled. I understand that this was a blow to them so I gave the sales rep, Colton, $750.00 for his time and drone work because I felt that he had been counting on the job. Within days I received an invoice for a $20,000 estimate-cancelation fee from them. I also received texts and phone calls from the other guy Ernesto even though I told him I would keep my communications with Colton. Ernesto kept pinging my phone which I began to see as harassment. Also, I sold Colton a $20 product from my own home business and he said he would Venmo me for it, but he didn't. When I brought that up, he said he's not paying me because I "stiffed" him. No pulled permit, no materials ordered, no work done, no start date, and I gave the kid $750.00 for his time. I apologized a lot too because I felt so bad about canceling but I don't trust their roofing. I do not believe the representatives of CVE are honest or informed and look what happens when you cancel. read more

Roofing was done in 1 day. Two layers removed, some sheathing replaced and a beautiful blue roof added. It was a hot day, but they got it done and all cleaned up. Dumpster/trailer was removed the next morning. They had inspected the roof prior and insurance has covered the majority of the bill. Customer service was responsive to questions. read more

Well it's been over a year now, and I'm still waiting for the work to be completed. We signed a contract in May 2024 ( then made to sign anther in September 24)they received their first payment in June 2024 then they started lying promising my roof would be done in four weeks that would be in the middle of July 2024 fast-forward to me, complaining and complaining and complaining I got a roof October 2024, then needed it repaired November 2024 due to Shady workmanship They damaged the downspout on my house that was bolted to my house ripped it right off as well as leaving over a pint size container, full of nails all over my yard and driveway which they never came back to clean up like they said they told me in October they would be back in two weeks with the interior guy Then of course something came up. I'm still waiting for the interior guy. Meanwhile, they have sent me invoices and invoices wanting $1200. They have received three payments from me that was from the insurance company. I've emailed them several times telling them. I am not paying until the work gets done. Offered them a deal. I will paint it myself and fix the damage. They snuck on my yard fix the downspout not even well and have yet to be in contact with me to do. The interior today is July 16,2025. Now we have a collection agency going after everybody but me the company has my email and my husband's email. That's the people who live here. That's the people who signed the contract. They contacted my son who doesn't live here and has nothing to do with this. I saved each and every one of the email and text messages for my proof. They also did not send out the required amount of shingles and did not supply the wood needed. Making it a 2 day process.. You can definitely get a roof cheaper somewhere else done in a timely manner and FYI, Cedar Valley doesn't do the work they hire somebody else to do it.I would like to add that I am fully willing to pay my part, once the work has been completed. But to me they broke the contract after waiting a full year for interior work to be done. The work they have not done yet is painting 2 ceilings. Also in my contract they said I can't bad mouth them online. But it's been well over a year and people should be aware. read more

Second update: We managed to get Cedar Valley Exteriors to return and fix the leaky roof that they installed. They added flashing at no additional charge (though we still will have to pay to fix the water damage the leaking caused of course). The roof doesn't leak anymore as far as we can tell and the work seems solid enough now. When they came out here, both before and after fixing the roof, they have continuously insisted that the roof flashing is not technically part of the roof and therefore they had no reason to add it, or even tell us that it was needed to prevent the brand new roof from leaking. They said we should have known and added it ourselves or had someone else do it even though we knew nothing about roofs before this and had no idea what roof flashing even was until they finally added it for us. I am personally not fond of this approach and feel that keeping things like this from a customer was bad form. Regarding the rest of the roof, they inspected it and deemed that all water damage to the ceiling was from before they replaced the roof, though due to a miscommunication on our end, we were unable to do a hose test to verify that the new roof was not leaking. We plan to eventually have another roofer come by and check the roof to ensure they installed things right. As promised, I will improve my review in light of their corrections, but they still caused a massive mess by removing the skylights without tarping underneath (including letting debris fall on me as I frantically tried to clear and tarp the space under some of the skylights as they worked), they still put a foot through our ceiling, and they still failed to even tell us that roof flashing was needed to prevent leaking in one part of our house, letting us believe that replacing the roof was sufficient to prevent future leaks. Three stars, though I would not hire them again or recommend them to any friends or family. read more

We were persuaded to replace our roof and promised that it would be completely covered by our homeowners insurance. We ended up having to come up with 18000 out of pocket mainly due to the unnecessary replacement of the decking on the entirety of the house and garage. This created a huge mess in our attic destroying items we had stored there as well as a mess in the garage which took hours to clean up. There was also damage to some house shingles and trim. I reached out several times to try tto speak to someone about the whole situation and never got a response. read more

I would highly recommend Cedar Valley Exteriors! In 2021, the roof of my house was damaged by wind. Cedar Valley Exteriors came highly recommended to me by a friend. I called them to take a look at my house and they met with me the next day. Upon reviewing the damage and when it happened, I was informed that this might be covered by my home insurance. Cedar Valley Exteriors did a comprehensive assessment of my whole house and dealt with the insurance company directly on my behalf. They also pointed out the damage to my siding from the wind blowing off the aluminum flashing and cracking the siding. They sent a piece of my siding to match for repairs. Upon review on possible matcfhes there were no suitable replacement vinyl siding. My insurance company agreed to not only pay for my roof but to reside my whole house.
