Chamma Auto Sales - Early messages reporting gas smell and check engine light -- no response

DO NOT TRUST CHAMMA AUTO SALES - SELLING UNSAFE VEHICLES & MISLEADING CUSTOMERS…read more I purchased a 2020 Toyota Yaris on May 25, 2025. Same day I filled the gas tank, the car began to smell strongly of fuel, and the check engine light came on. I contacted the dealership immediately. They responded once, then went silent -- despite me sharing photos and asking for help multiple times. I took the car to Town & Country Toyota, where they diagnosed: * EVAP system leak (fuel vapor leak, dangerous safety issue) * Brake fluid contamination * Bad drive belt * $940 repair cost paid out of pocket, with nearly $3,000 in total repairs recommended. The dealership now claims in this public response that I "was not ignored" and that the issues were "normal wear and tear." That's false. They never acknowledged the EVAP leak -- the most dangerous and expensive issue -- and their messages abruptly stopped when I provided photos and Toyota's assessment. I filed complaints with the South Carolina DMV, BBB, and am taking them to Small Claims Court. I've also missed work since the car was purchased for Uber but is unsafe to drive. I have full documentation, photos, text logs, repair receipts, and proof of income loss. This is a pattern of neglect, avoidance, and refusal to take responsibility. They are trying to cover their tracks now -- don't fall for it. Look elsewhere. These people are not honest. I'm also pursuing this through Small Claims Court. Let's see if they ignore that too.
