When I explained the situation over the phone, Amy at Colvins was tremendously pleasant and helpful--what a great asset to the company to have such a welcoming, professional voice to assist customers! On the day of installation, the work crew showed up on time, talked me through what they would be doing, and were very efficient in getting their work done. They swapped out our 20+ year old dinosaur for a super efficient Rheem two-stage furnace, installed an easy-access air filter replacement door, and installed a new digital thermostat (bye-bye antique dial-type thermostat). But in full disclosure, the install was not entirely flawless. While ascending our attic ladder to check a whistling noise in the ducting, the attic ladder was broken by the work crew, but I appreciated that they were up front about the accident, and they encouraged me to call the store to make arrangements for Colvins to assist with the cost of replacement--and, of course, Amy was exceptionally accommodating in this respect when I shared with her what had happened. And to top off the experience, a couple of days after the job was finished, I received an unexpected gift in the mail--an overnighted package containing a tin of cookies with a note from Colvins thanking me for choosing them. Well, thanks right back at you, Colvins! All in all, my experience with Colvins was very positive, and I would confidently recommend their work.

Also the plumbers not colvins are cheaper and honestly did a better job. To point out i had already used colvins for a repair on a furnace called them back for the same furnace in 1 month and a dryer gas line install and got denied because i didnt want the guy that made original repair. Randy was hired to replace my stand up shower, which had been leaking and had ruined the flooring…read more After Randy completed the job I noticed that he had put a hole through my bathroom door and instead of telling me, he put a blob of caulk on it and spray painted my door to try and cover it up. I also notice he had not removed the flooring under the shower lip , which was clearly rotten. I stopped payment on my check until he came back and replaced the subfloor. At that time I paid him in full. I had to hire another contractor to fix the drywall around the tub and install tile. This contractor pointed out to me that Randy had cracked my shower in multiple places because he neglected to predrill the holes for the screws. A shower shelf was also cracked. Additionally, Randy cut into all of the studs around the shower when we was cutting the drywall and he cut into my plumbing vent pipe. I wrote a formal complaint and sent it to Randy, but he never bothered to follow up.

My contractor called Beardslee plumbing, hoping they be able to swing down to our area in Roscommon. They were here within one hour and figured out which pipe was frozen. We have been trying to figure this out for months. Beardslee plumbing is prompt, professional, and reliable. Fifteen years ago our heat went out one night, and Beardslee Plumbing came within an hour and fixed it. I can't say enough positive things about this company.

An admission that they couldn't (and wouldn't) help us service their own product. One of the techs told me they don't install many Maytag furnaces; now I know why. Seems they should be able to support what they sell. We had other problems with them 4 years ago during the work on our build - essentially lied about timelines and were slow to respond. In my view, they're too big to care about residential customers.
