At first I didn't understand why anyone would just "throw away" a lump sum of money to a person who would just show up the day of and execute what was already a beautifully organized plan. And then it dawned on me: there is no way to get everything you need to happen when and where it's supposed to happen without someone running the show, and that person CANNOT be the woman in the big beautiful dress. I interviewed about 10 different coordinators (did I mention I'm a perfectionist?) leading to yet another excel sheet of pros/cons for each potential hire. When I narrowed my list to the top 3 Courtney really stood out. While everyone was easy to talk to on the phone, she seemed the least like someone who was trying to up-sell me on "my big day". She also didn't put hour limits on the package, which showed that she really was just going to be there to help in any way possible, not to nitpick over one line charges in a contract. During the first meeting we set up with her I still had my reservations, but by the end of the conversation I was happily writing a check. At the walk-through she agreed to also come to the church and was on top of every picky detail I requested. At the rehearsal she helped navigate a tense situation when I was 20 minutes late. She also exerted herself when necessary among a pushy priest and uptight church coordinator. My maid of honor said that Courtney won her over when she overheard her say to me at the rehearsal: "Is this the way you really want it, because if you have doubts tell me and we'll get it done." On the morning of the wedding Courtney was waiting for us with multiple things already underway. She gave me quick calm updates and brought me in whenever there was a decision to be made. If I told her it didn't matter she would quickly take care of the problem on her own and I wouldn't hear another word about it. If I had a strong feeling on the matter, she made sure it happened my way. When I told her I was concerned that some family member's criticism would shake me up before the ceremony, she politely steered them away from me whenever there was an issue. When the church coordinator got snippy with her she was overheard saying: "I was hired by the bride and groom to make their dream wedding come true, and doing things your way was not part of that plan". Meanwhile, she was completely professional, kind, and welcoming to everyone. The wedding party loved her! She was also dressed stylishly (and in heals!) for the wedding, which makes a difference to me. Your guests are going to see someone following around the bride all day, you don't want them to be wearing slacks and an over-sized button down. Courtney handled a million big and small details for me the day of, but one that stands out is something I hadn't fully thought through. At one of our meetings I mentioned I was going to have some decorations ready to set up in the honeymoon suite for us to come back to. While this was a great idea, it just kept getting moved lower and lower on my list, and I never got around to setting anything aside. Since we were up until the wee hours of the morning I didn't think it would matter, but when I went to my room to change I was blown away. She had taken small extra flower arrangements and candles from the reception and arranged them beautifully all over the suite. There were flower petals leading to the bed, and my veil beautifully draped over the arm seat. Food and candles were waiting for us on the table and all the extra boxes had been tucked away. It was beautiful and an amazing end to a perfectly-executed day, all thanks to Courtney. I could write endlessly about every little detail she did, but instead I will say this: Hire Courtney, it will be the best decision you make.

Renee was on top of everything throughout the planning process, making arrangements, coordinating vendors and offering wonderful advice. The day of the weddings Renee and Allison hit the ground running. She was onsite while the girls were getting hair and makeup, coordinated and pick up food for the girls and the guys at a different location. She is the absolute BEST! We planned and had two weddings within 6 months, during the pandemic. Renee talked us all off of the ledge a few times and was my voice of reason often. I can not say thank you enough to Renee for all that she did for us to coordinate our weddings. I highly recommend hiring Renee. "Events by Renee" was worth their weight in gold.

Overall Impression: This was not a good value for the money spent. Our daughter's wedding was not given any significant priority, even the month of the wedding. Note that Ms. Rhinehart, the owner of the business, works part-time in this business and full-time developing partyhosthelper.com. We were not privy to this when booking. Pros: * Day of Support good; the Planner worked long hours, even helped with clean up * Taping job for bride's wardrobe malfunction excellent, stayed in place * Help with bridesmaid's dress also very good * Flexible with some last minute/late changes (changing three lights to two on the tables, changing plans to attend the AA tasting) * Helpful in acting as the bride and groom's witness when they applied for their marriage license * Picked up favors and stored centerpieces for the bride Cons: * Planning missed a lot of important details throughout planning (wedding date, etc.); does not take notes at meetings * Did not feel like personal service as requested in the initial interview, not enough time with bride. The bride missed dates to do things because the Planner was not in regular touch with the bride. The MOB had to step in to actively plan the wedding. * Very difficult to contact except email, even to schedule a meeting which had to be during business hours * Vendor search limited to one vendor, even after MOB mentioned the one vendor did not work * Planner not flexible to redo the vendor search after COVID rescheduling (extra fee for this), resulting in MOB, bride doing their own vendor searches for some vendors * Not budget-oriented as requested in initial interview in terms of purchasing additional services, resulting in going over budget continuously with nearly every vendor hired * Forgot that we were out of town in planning the wedding * Did not receive payment notifications when things were due or adequate budget spreadsheets * Nearly all communications (mostly emails) left something to be desired, resulting in lots of wasted time for the MOB, FOB, and others * Lack of timely response to many inquiries * Knowledge of venue not adequate (overstated in initial interview) * The Planner did not know the correct order for a Jewish wedding (where they stand at the altar) and directed incorrectly. This resulted in bride's family not seeing her face on the video. * Suggested lots of add-on fees for things that should have been included even though we paid for the premium service plus extra for planning additional parties. * Two special requests from MOB (a search of more than one vendor for chairs and welcome bag assembly) were handled mostly by assistants, resulting in uneven results. * No support given for times the planner was not available (her honeymoon and maternity leave)

Susan and her team are SO organized, SO professional, and SO lovely to work with. For starters, we delayed our wedding by two years because of COVID...so naturally, there were certain details I just totally forgot about. Fortunately, Susan didn't. She'd remind me of whatever comments I'd made two years prior, follow up on things I didn't even realize we'd talked about, and keep my family and me on track when we needed it most. She came to as many of our appointments with other vendors as possible, asking smart questions and helping us make strategic decisions along the way. On the day of the wedding (which we had at the Fillmore in Fishtown), every single member of her team was ON, helping us squash little issues and stay as much on schedule as possible. Her team was quick, attentive, and lovely all-around. They're exactly what you want in a wedding planning team--they're kind, yet firm. They're cattle herders, but with a friendly touch. And most of all, they know what they're doing and make you feel like you can relax and let them take care of you and your loved ones on your special day.

While the bride and groom live in Philly, both sets of parents are out of town, so this was a destination wedding for us and most of the guests. Thereby we knew we'd need very experienced "boots on the ground" to pull off the caliber of wedding we envisioned. We figured the best place to get verifiable wedding planner recommendations was to ask wedding coordinators at the venues toured: Lauren James Events was the first name suggested by most, and after our initial telephone conversation it was easy to see why. Jamie is delightful; knowledgeable, professional, experienced, well-connected, warm, and easy to talk to. Honestly, she left no stone unturned. Although our wedding was a year and a half out when we hired her, and in the beginning she had clients with more pressing needs than ours, we were always made to feel that we were a priority. Our wedding was on a holiday weekend and Jamie helped us to secure some of the city's most highly sought vendors promptly so we wouldn't be closed out. From the get-go, Jamie worked with us in establishing and organizing our parameters - number of guests, style of reception, and met with the bride and groom to talk about their vision and expectations. She listened so well that her recommendations always were spot on. She created meeting and planning timelines with our vendors, and maintained a meticulous spreadsheet of expenditures. She attended vendor meetings along with us, taking scrupulous notes, and worked with us to negotiate contracts. She advised us well as to where we should be spending money and did not hesitate to steer us away from the things we didn't need. She established wedding blocks at the most central hotels for out of town guests and kept track of the bookings, so we knew who was staying where. She also assisted in planning the other events for the wedding weekend. In the week leading up to the wedding we were talking several times a day to tweak additions, guest cancellations and ensure that everything we expected came to fruition. She produced welcome bags for out of town guests and delivered them to the hotels. She surprised the bride and groom by having their room upgraded to a phenomenal suite. When a few glitches arose that week (as they inevitably will), she resolved them and only afterward told us so we didn't have to stress over details. On the wedding day, Jamie never left our side - arriving in the bridal suite beginning early morning with the bridesmaids, orchestrating our hair and makeup people, the photographer and videographer, lunch delivery for everyone, rode the wedding trolley with the bridal party to the bride and groom's first look and off-site photo sessions, at the venue for formal photos, managed the catering staff and band so that the timing of everything ran smoothly. We actually had to beg her to take a break and eat dinner (I still don't think she ever did: we owe you dinner, Jamie!) . Throughout our entire process, she never once lost her cool and as a result, the bride and groom and their parents were able to relax and completely enjoy our family's special day, stress-free. Weddings are highly emotional occasions, but thanks to Jamie the only emotions we experienced were total elation and tears --of joy. It is truly money well spent, and we cannot thank her enough
