Starting with Dan Thelen, he provided all options and cost of product details. There were no surprises. The install crew I understand has been with Total Exteriors from the start. The day of my roof installation Zion and the install crew showed up well before the planned start time and rocked it out. Their attention to detail, teamwork and final cleanup was more than what I expected and exceeded the experience that I had 23 years ago with a previous roofing company. The next day the crew returned for gutter and downspout installation. Also, I'd like to give a shout out to Jason who takes quality to the next level. Great job! My new roof looks great.

Our house has a complicated driveway and parking situation which their crew was able to work around seamlessly. Our HOA had its own approval layer on top of the city permit, and Sun Vault Roofing helped us navigate a two-week back-and-forth over approved shingle colors (side salad: ridiculous that HOAs have this kind of bureaucracy). Despite the complications, Sun Vault Roofing kept us updated through every delay and milestone without us having to chase anyone down. That alone was worth the price difference. The crew showed up on time, worked two full days, and left the yard cleaner than they found it. The roof has now been through 2-3 major storms since installation, including the crazy hail in April and there is not a speck of damage. Everything looks sharp and clean. You can tell was done right all the way from the street. If you're getting multiple bids for a roof replacement in the Madison area, make sure Sun Vault Roofing is one of them. But, even with all his knowledge, can not justify the cost of this small project. My mistake for using them, please, not make the same mistake!!!!!

My roof was in really bad shape ( especially the roof over an addition that wasn't installed…read moreproperly and included 2 skylights that were leaking) and I contacted 3 roofing contractors to get an estimate. One contractor told me he didn't think his guys were experienced enough to correct the roof problem over the addition and didn't give me an estimate. The 2nd contractor wasn't sure what he would do until his crew took the old roof off and then they would come up with a plan after they saw what they would be working with but he did give me an estimate. The 3rd contractor was S and S Roofing. The owner, Cary Kroll, came out and told me exactly what would have to be done and provided me with an estimate after he explained how the addition roof would have to be rebuilt and 2 new skylights would be installed to fix the leaking. Cary also advised that his crew nails the shingles by hand and that prevents the nails from going thru the shingle which can happen when you use a nail gun. I liked that as that was part of the problem with my old roof as the shingles had started to slide down. The estimate included complete tear-off and clean-up and I considered the estimate to be reasonable for the work that had to be done. The work was done in about 4 1/2 days and the roof looks great. My wife and are checked for any nails that might have been missed during clean-up and found none. We are completely satisfied with the look of the roof and the expert workmanship by Cary and his crew.

They did what they said they'd do, in the manner they said they would, in a timely fashion during a time when customer service has seemed to be a lost art and quality products don't exist. Even having to reschedule due to the extremely cold temps and knowing the temps wouldn't properly allow for proper cure times when we were initially available, they worked with us to find a suitable time that worked for all. Tim, Brad and Jake were great to work with and Stephanie make coordinating easy. Would highly recommend and will use again.

I called to have them come over and give me an estimate to repair my roof and gutter. It took them…read morea while to get to me before they came over. I signed a contract with them to get it completed by a certain date. They never kept in contact as to what day they were actually going to come over and do the roof. They showed up and did the roof part of it, but not the gutter part. I didn't hear from him for over a week a week and already past the contract deadline completion date. I also asked him for a quote to do the entire fascia around the house. I never got one. By this time i just wanted him to complete the project. He finally got ahold of me and explained that he had family issues and that's why it wasn't complete. As a costumer, I don't want to hear about your family issues. You're the owner of the company and have a project manager that works for you. If you don't trust the project manager, why have one. Have him earn his money and reach out to costumers if you can't. I was told serval times that they would be out today to finish the job. They never showed until 2 weeks after the deadline. He stated that we just got the materials to finish the job. Again, not my problem. Communication and customer service should be the first thing that needs to be done if you want the customer to recommend your company to other people looking for any roof repairs. Sorry that I have to write a review about this. The owner is a nice guy, but young. Get your project manager more involved in the company and have him reach out to costumers if things are going to be late or problems arise. If you're looking for a company to not call, communicate, or go over the contract deadline. Then use them. I'll go someplace else.
