I needed push rails and a full harness installed so I could run my Boss V-Plow on my new 2024 RAM 2500. Jay knocked it out of the park!From the start, he was super responsive. I was honestly a little nervous about the install (new truck and all), but when I emailed my concerns, Jay quickly replied, "This isn't my first rodeo," and he was absolutely right. He knew exactly what he was doing.The work was done professionally and surprisingly fast. All the wiring is clean, tight, and neatly routed - no messy bundles or loose ends anywhere. He even mounted the plow/truck control switch in the perfect spot where it's easy to reach but out of the way.Couldn't be happier with the result. Truck looks great, everything works flawlessly, and I feel confident heading into winter. If you need plow installation or wiring work done right, go see Jay - top-notch service all around! I am a big believer of supporting local businesses....always have been. Unfortunately, my experience with JL Custom Fab, Inc. was a BAD one. Sarah's rebuttals are incorrect.... on a number of items ...... JL Custom Fab, Inc NEVER offered a full reimbursement...they wanted me to come in and talk about it. The "extra work" they did when I came to pick up my trailer was because the electrical work they did...DID NOT WORK. Imagine (stupidly) spending $350. to have a $29. light installed and all the electrical connections (including the new light) not work. OMG! It was awful! Justifiably I am (still) the laughing stock of the surrounding towns. Please! If anyone has questions or concerns contact me and I will give you the whole (and true) story. read more

I'm just a homeowner with a plow. I plow my own driveway. I bought my Boss plow from Jay about 5 years ago. I recently had a problem with the power ground cable just before another big snowstorm. I think they went out of their way to replace the cable and get me back on the road again and they did it at a reasonable fee. I'm more than happy with how I was treated but I wasn't surprised. Established in 2005.

JL Custom Fab was established in Bowdoin, Maine during the Spring of 2005 by Jay and Sara Lacharite. Jay originally was employed by Coastal Metal Fab in Topsham. Beginning as a production worker, Jay spent the next 9 years perfecting his welding abilities, gaining customer service skills and eventually became a Service Manager, in charge of installations and custom welding jobs. Always dreaming of owning his own business, Jay began the ground work on Route 201 before the snow was even melted. He spent the summer constructing the shop with the help of friends and family. By November 2005, JL Custom Fab was officially open for business. JL Custom Fab strives to provide services that are hard to find in the area. With the ability to weld all types of metals, we can repair or build just about anything the customer desires.
