I spoke to half a dozen different HVAC providers and had 3 of them come to her home to do an estimate. Of all of them, Mike Greives of Dead River was the only one who took the time to explain the pros and cons of oil vs propane and what was the best solution for this home and her situation. Also, the price quoted from Dead River was the cheapest of all of the quotes I got. Not by a lot but it was the best price quoted of the three. When the time came for scheduling the service they worked with us to book the chimney person, the junk hauler, and took care of all of the details (which a few other companies told me I would have to arrange for!). They also accommodated our schedule since the work was done in the summer and was not an emergency call. On the days of installation, I have to shout out the professional work and wonderful attitude of Dale, Joe, and Dustin. They explained all of the details and left the space cleaner than it started! Even better because 3 people were sent they completed the install in 2 days instead of 3. I just happened to see Mr. Cressey's trailer parked somewhere, and got the number from that. His estimate was quick (within 7 days of initial contact), which is not always the case, and was in line with the other quotes I had gotten. I had already pretty much decided I wanted to go with Mitsubishi because of my research, and the recommendations of others. The reasons I went with Cressy were: a) he is a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor, I'll talk more about that later on. b) He is a Master Electrician, so I was reasonably sure that the installation would be professional, and c) I just felt his honesty right away. Being a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor means several things. a) he gets put at the head of the line for supplies. b) he does all the registration of warranty and everything himself, which saves me the trouble. c) he gets an extra 2-years on the factory warranty. He installed everything himself, with one helper, he cleaned everything up to where it was before he came into the house, and he finished the installation within the timeframe promised. All in all, very happy with him, and I would recommend him eagerly.

The past two times we've been here, we've done their guided wildlife kayak tour which includes a stop on Ram Island with snacks. This summer, given the COVID issues, they are unable to offer any guided tours but you can go down to their dock and rent stand up paddle boards or kayaks (single or double) and they will provide you with waterproof maps of the harbor so you can paddle to various locations and explore on your own. They also provided us with waterproof sacks and life vests. It was all first come first serve (I couldn't reserve the kayaks ahead of time) but they have so many it's not an issue. They said they do have more demand for paddle boards from time to time. We rented three double kayaks and wore our masks, as did the staff, until we shoved off the dock. We did the recommended kayak path to Burnt Island and walked around the island a bit before we headed back around the bay. In truth, two of our party decided to just float in the bay in their kayak and didn't paddle anywhere. All in all it was a wonderful and different way to experience the bay by kayak than the guided tours and at the end, they gave each of our teenagers/young adults a Tidal Transit Kayak sticker for their water bottles/laptops. I tried to pay for them but they gave them to us for free - and we will gladly advertise their company for them!
