This company did an amazing job on a bathroom remodel, put effort and work into it, quality and at a cheap price. I will use again!

Chuck is your guy…read more In short, I had water damage from an 2nd floor condo from her laundry washer that malfunctioned. Under those circumstances, I arranged for 3 quotes. Price important, but quality was the driving factor. I was very impressed with him, personally, as he actually does the work - not a sales person that hasn't actually done the work. His explanation of work required was clear and concise. Based upon other Yelp reviews, I KNEW his quality would be outstanding. A delightful surprise was that his pricing was also very reasonable. Chuck is a true professional. He did a great job and, as a result, has earned my strongest possible recommendation. Well done!

I had a 9am appointment and he arrived at 8:55am with a pen and notepad in his hand. We did a walk through of all the items I wanted a quote on; if he was unable to do what I ask then I'm glad I was notified upfront. He also provided a time frame of the requested work. The quote was sent via email the next business day and he followed up a few days later to see if I wanted the work done. I prefer to pay more through a company instead of someone using YouTube and no skill. He also pointed out a few items I needed to take a look in the future so it doesn't get worst. I honestly appreciate the work and will be using in the future.

Greater Home Services is remodeling company. They just finished a project with us, and GHS and…read moretheir owner Gary Grabowski did an outstanding job. We had a unique situation, with a new construction home that had defects needing to be fixed. I found Greater Home Services through a Google search, and reached out to Gary not knowing what to expect. The first time I spoke to him, he was very interested and intrigued by the project, and he explained he's a Mike Holmes (TV personality on HGTV) type of guy that is going to fix it right. Before even coming out to our house, he wanted to do as much research as he could about our defects based on the information that I shared with him. Gary did not want to come out to our house unprepared while wasting our time. He worked with his resources until he had some ideas for what was wrong, and then came over to look for himself, and share his solutions. Gary walked through his quote and when we decided to proceed, I asked if he could give us a schedule of when things will happen, as we never had a schedule when our house was built. He pulled out a white board and put together a schedule that we would keep at our house. Knowing things could move based on what was found, we would see any changes right away. Gary did an excellent job of coordinating all of the work that needed to be done, and gave us a daily report at the end of each day explaining what was found. He was always willing to meet in person, or talk over the phone if there were any questions. Gary's tile guy did an excellent job and wanted to make sure everything was done perfectly (no shortcuts) with his 30+ years of experience. The rough carpenters he works with, made sure plastic sheeting was on all of furniture as well as use a negative air machine to keep dust to a minimum. Like the tile guy, no shortcuts. The project was finished on time and on budget. The quality of the work was excellent and the attention to detail was evident in all aspects of the job. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering remodeling and we will most definitely consider him on any future projects.

They just completed a total master bath handicap access remodel in my condominium. I am delighted beyond my expectations. I not only wanted a safe and highly functional bathroom, but I wanted it to be lovely also and I feel that is exactly what I received. I obtained more than one bid for this remodel and accepted owner, Gary Grabowski's (CR, UDCR), proposal, knowing "you get what you pay for." Gary was very professional and highly knowledgeable about equipment and installation methods that would make my home-life much easier for me while keeping in mind my personal current and potential future needs. He was always concerned about and respectful of my budget. Once the plans were agreed upon, I had to wait a short while for my project's turn. What I liked was that once his crew began my project it was as though I was his only client until completion. All projects have small "hitches" which are insignificant when looking at the scope of the entire project. Gary and all of his workers were so highly skilled, hard-working, trustworthy, and always pleasant and courteous. They were careful as they went in and out of my home, kept things as orderly and neat as possible with a major construction job and even seemed to enjoy my dog! As Gary became familiar with my abilities and needs, he made other suggestions for other areas of my condo. They are continuing to do some smaller projects inside and outside and I will continue to use this company to do a few larger projects in the near future.

At this point they have brought out their architect for some design options and provided me with a quote that was very reasonable for the project. They did have a charge associated with having the architect come out that was very small. I can't remember what it was, but it will be baked into the ultimate project payments. Did I shop around? Well... no. These guys have done a lot of work on my house. They have amazing integrity, good pricing from my past shopping around, I can trust them with my dogs and we are mimicking the amazing front porch design they created for me so it just makes sense to stay with a company I trust. Highly, highly recommend.

Everyone i met associated with the project were pleasant and did their job well. A ++ on communication - everyone showed up when they said they were going to or called if running late, which i really appreciated. I was very impressed with how their payment plan was structured - it made me confident that the job would get done. There were a few things i asked for a change on and they completed the change without too much fuss. Overall good experience with the company. The new bath is definitely the favorite room now; we might have to upgrade the rest of the house to match.

They covered all of our floors leading up to the bathroom (remodel). The completed job matches our original plan. They were able to make adjustments when things were not going according to plan. They were able to obtain all the materials we picked out. Anytime we reached out to our Project Manager he was able to respond and give us information in a timely manner. Since we don't have a garage, they were able to provide us with a trailer which held all of our materials on site. Negatives: They gutted the bathroom as planned. When they laid the floor, they never covered it with paper so they continued to remodel the bathroom walking on the newly installed floor. Seems like not a big issue, but it's winter and they were dragging in dust, snow, ice and salt onto our new black floor. All of the debris was falling onto the new floor. Due to the fact that multiple people are working on multiple jobs, mistakes were made and workers had to come back out to fix errors made. Part of why we went with Detroit Build is because they had a design team. We were still required to go out and find the materials on our own. Our assumption was they would take care of this step. While our Project Manager did get back to us, we had to reach out weekly to get updates. At the end of the project the only cleaning that was done was construction cleanup. We were disappointed to find out that they did not have a cleaning company to take care of this job. It wasn't a clean and pristine feeling that you would expect with a remodel. We had to call and get a "deep clean" on our newly remodeled bathroom.

Detroit Build remodeled our main bathroom and delivered a good job; communication before and during…read morethe project was excellent; towards the end of the months-long project it tapered off a bit (probably because the contractors got used to us working from home and somebody always being there). A slight miscommunication occurred likely in the quoting stage already, where I may not have picked up on a bidet seat being installed where I wasn't expecting that to happen. But that would also explain the higher re-quote that I approved, so there's that. We came to like it anyways and are happy with it. Kevin was a great Project Manager; whenever I saw something that needed improvement, Kevin took care of it. Their Showroom in Royal Oak to pick designs / tiles etc. is definitely a plus. The job was billed exactly as quoted; if there is something I would recommend doing would be a formal, final walk-through at the end of the project. There are a few very minor things I would have wanted to at least discuss or have some advice on. Overall I'd highly recommend Detroit Build and would work with them on a future job any time.
