I'm a fabric junky and needed to find a fabric shop to browse since Hancock Fabric went out of business. Originally I had planned to shop at the Jo-Ann Store in Louisville. Then an appointment brought me to Frankfort so I decided to check out the Frankfort Store. The night before my trip to Frankfort I checked out Joann.com and found I could search for particular key words and see the fabric selections. Wow, I plunked in "Moose" and found the cutest fleece fabric to make a blanket for my grandson. I was able to check how many yards were available in the Frankfort store. Perfect! Then I browsed on-line for fabric that I could use to make bathroom curtains. Then I checked out fabric needed for Halloween costumes. And the list goes on & on. I printed up a variety of coupons for Jo-Ann's to bring with me. The next day I arrived at Jo-Ann's with my list of materials and quantities needed of each. I also brought my tablet in my purse in case I needed to pull up the specific fabric I was looking for. No need. One by one I spotted each fabric. Both the manager and the sales girl were very nice about climbing ladders to get the bolts down off a top shelf. When it came time to measure and cut the fabric I had both of them working on my large order. Because I was organized this process went really smooth. At check out I handed the manager my printed sheet of coupons. She scanned each bar code before ringing up the order and said the computer would figure out the rest. I was very pleased with the whole process and will be back in the future. The store isn't huge but it has a nice variety of fabrics, notions, patterns and crafts. read more

I am a flight attendant and purchased fabric at this location in anticipation of a trip to Shanghai that I was scheduled on. I was having two small shirts made but I told the staff I wanted enough material for two MEDIUM shirts so I could make sure I had enough. Fly over there and the tailor says I barely have enough material for one shirt much less two. When I return to Jo-Ann's they admitted that the person who helped me isn't any good but offered me nothing. The staff at this location are not well versed in their trade or in customer service. It's worth the drive to Lexington to avoid this place. read more

I had to fix curtains that shrink up after washing. I found everything I needed and saved a ton instead of buying new ones. Prices seem a little high and the selection on better material isn't robust but the girls are really great and helpful. read more

Feb, 1, 2015 THIS IS ABOUT THE FRANKFORT'S STORE and THEIR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WHY I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT STORE AND THE WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE LOUISVILLE JOANNS that I received on the same day I HAD WENT TO THE FRANKFORT JOANNS I live in Frankfort and had gone to the Frankfort store on the same day that I had gone to the Louisville Store, this was on Sat. Jan 31, 2015 . The Frankfort store had the fabric I needed and I found additional fabric that I liked so I had them cut that fabric too. I had 4 different cuddle fabric each cut 1.5 yard I had 5 yards of a keepsake fabric 3 yards of a U OF L a ruler, notions, and thread the order totaled 120.00 prior to any of my coupons. The manager onsite that day Jen checked me out and I gave her my Jo Ann 60 percent coupon to use on the Keepsake fabric and then I told her I had a competitor coupon from Hancocks for 25 percent off of the total order. She took the coupons and she read the Hancocks and she told me that it said that it could not be combined with any other coupons and I could not use it with my 60 percent from Jo Anns. I told her that they had no problem in the Lexington, or Louisville stores doing this. She told me no that they were not suppose to do this and then she just stood there and looked at me did not say another word. She did not offer me any other resolution to resolve this problem (like maybe lets void the transaction and I buy the 5 yards of the keepsake separate and use the 60 percent off and then do another transaction so I could have used the coupon from the other store, how simple that would have been.) I became upset with the way she was treating me. I told her I did not want any of it after she did nothing to help me and the only thing she said do you want your coupons back. I mean I had a $120.00 order mostly of cut fabric before any coupons were applied. I informed her I would never be back in that store again I would go to Louisville or Lexington I did go to the Louisville store on the same day (the drive is about an hour there and an hour back) and was able to get the U OF L fabric that I went after to begin with. They did let me use both coupons. The Louiville store did not have the Keepsake or the Cuddle fabric design that I had picked out in Frankfort, the ladies even helped me look for it. So because of the lack of good management and the poor customer service in the Frankfort store JoAnns missed out on a sale of more Fabric. Yes I did buy more fabric in the Louisville Store but not as much that I was going to purchase at the Frankfort store. The FRANKFORT store really needs a class in customer service.
