This store is a joke. It is dirty, cold, and very uninviting. I brought the attention of a filthy bathroom to the manager and was told "ok we'll clean it. The time I was in there the exact, same disgusting stains were on the floor and sink. Not to mention both this store and the Saugus Massachusetts store were closed with a note on the door saying "due to the to the storm we are closed today." Today at one of your stores in Middleton, Massachusetts, because of the coronavirus, you had cars line up in the fire lane to be handed fabric. This is absolutely appalling that your management thought this was ok. It's called a fire lane for a reason. I'm glad the Middleton PD were on top of this. You should be ashamed. read more

I love the Middleton store- I'm there roughly once a week (...I don't have a problem...you have a problem...) and it's always a pleasant shopping experience. The floor is clean, well stocked, organized well so everything is easy to find. Staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful- they really make shopping there enjoyable. If they don't have what you're looking for, they will attempt to find it at another Joann in the region for you. I highly recommend the Middleton location over the Saugus store, which is roughly the equivalent of the 5th circle of hell. Avoid at all costs. read more

It appears the management and salespeople in the Middleton, MA store are fresh from drug rehab. They are not alert, inattentive to customer's needs, and not invested in their work. They appear glassy-eyed, gliding around the store, if in fact, you can find a salesperson who: (1) knows anything about sewing; (2) has any idea of the store's merchandise; (3) project any sort of aptitude for crafts in general, you're lucky. I was really taken aback by the customer service here lately they seem to have some new workers that are not too friendly. They need to understand the proper protocol for this new Covid 19 , they tell you to call and then they will bring it to your car. I specifically told the woman to leave it right next to my car and I will take care of it . she proceeded to come right up to my window and basically if my window wasn't shut she would've been 5 inches from my husbands face she said roll down the window I said no I'm not rolling down the window she said I need to see your license (I had already given her my name over the phone and I had the numbers for my order but she said no need) she never even told me she needed To see my license. so I pulled it out of my purse and showed it to her through the window. then what did she do ? she went in the back of my car and opened up my trunk and put my bags inside !!! I told her specifically not to touch the car or to put my things in there I was gonna put them in another bag and then spray them when I got home you can't be too careful someone touching material that got cut and all your things that they're picking up in the store they need to be more aware of this it makes more work for us to trying to be cautious! ! read more

During the "Pandemic" the store in Middleton MA has been totally overwhelmed. Orders placed are easily taking over a week to fill, what a joke. When you call the store they literally will pick up the phone and hang it up on you multiple times until they realize you will keep calling back. When they do answer, they are very short and rude. Calling corporate is no better as all of their customer service has been turned over to email on. This company is a joke and I will look to Amazon in the future. read more

I took the Sewing 101 class tonight with Betty. Class was $35 and 2.5 hours of learning machine sewing basics, stitches, etc. before we made a small pillow. It was a phenomenal class for beginner sewing (I hadn't been in front of a sewing machine in 20 years). Betty was a great instructor and we all stayed behind asking what other classes she teaches because it was so informative, helpful, and fun! Betty is a great teacher!!!! read more

Today was my first day shopping at a fabric store. I felt like I died and went to fabric heaven. I picked up fleece for my guinea pigs cages. Both employees were very friendly. I will be back for more fleece. read more

I got so many questions answered about my sewing endeavors. Every employee I spoke with was helpful and friendly. When one of them learned I was following a pattern for the first time in 15 years, she offered to give me 40% off whatever muslin I wanted so that I could practice before using my real fabric. They also explained what interfacing is and looked at the package with me to point out what notions I would need. The store is clean and organized. It's easy to find an employee. The selection is great. I was particularly impressed with the book section. I had just come from the Jo-Ann in Saugus, which was awful (going to write a separate yelp for them). The Middleton store was a delightful change of scene. I will definitely be returning for materials and maybe a sewing class. read more

I've waited to write a review to make sure the first 5 times weren't a fluke. Never once while in this store did anyone ever come up and ask if I needed help. Then when I would ask for assistance, I would get a finger point to the isle, and barely a glance towards me. Last night while I was at the register with a purchase, the salesperson asked if I had the 40% off coupon. I did not, and asked if she had one there that she could ring through for me. She said no, they don't keep coupons there. Really, you don't have your own flyers at the register??? Since 40% off is a big deal, I had to leave the line and download the app to get the 40% off. You go to JC Penny, or any other store for that matter and they gladly pull out their flyer and scan a coupon for you. The sales people, at least in the Middleton store, are horrible! I've yet to have a pleasant experience there and will try another Joanns' to see if the problem is just with the Middleton store, or just poor company management across the board. read more

Ahhh Jo-Ann, you trusty purveyor of all things crafty. This is pretty much your standard Jo-Ann's. I went here to obtain several different colors of embroidery floss, and I was successful. I did notice that all the cross stitch books were in disarray, and I was also kinda disappointed that they have not updated their stock of that stuff for at least 25 years. Crafting has been cool for several years now, and I was kind of hoping to see at least one book of tattoo-inspired cross stitch patterns, but nope. Pretty much just Precious Moments and Favorite Psalms. Ah well, at least they stock candy near the check-out! read more

My husband was given as a gift a cake decorating class for today 1/7/18. I had to call 4 times over the past week to obtain a supply list. After finally receiving a list over the phone by an instructor and confirmed that the class was still on schedule. We were forwarded an e-mail from the gift giver sent on Friday with a reminder from Joann's that the class was being held on 1/7. We drove an hour with a box full of supplies only to be told that the class was cancelled. No call and no apology. We asked for a store credit only to be told we would have to wait until the education coordinator returns from medical leave. The store manager, Theresa (?sp), did not come out of her office to speak to us directly to resolve this issue, but sent the very nice sales person to provide the information. What manager does not have the authority to give a store credit? Shame on Joann's Fabric's for their lack of customer service!! read more

I have to agree with some of the reviewers since I am highly disappointed at the choice of fabric available...they may have changed the personnel who purchase the fabric line into the store, but they need to update their fabrics....The store seemed more up-to-date with fabric choices when I started going to it a few yrs. ago. They seem to be inclined to more crafty items. Many times there is not enough help in the store...The gals there are usually pleasant and do what they can for you, but with lack of personnel it adds a burden unto the ones assisting people and sometimes one finds themselves waiting for someone to check you out. Also the prices Joanne is asking for with the quality of fabric is expensive...It seems that they know what is out in the marketplace and those prices are high.,such as costume fabric that could be turned into tops, etc. Also they do not care anything great for leggings...such as having a reasonable amount of spandex in the fabric....It could be a better store and people as us sewers would like a variety ...I realize sometimes it may be cheaper to purchase a garment, be what it may, but it is in the challenge of the project; the reward it gives one when completed, and you did it yourself....you get to choose what you like.....Hope they can find someone with style to revamp their line of fabric. read more

signed up for a class over a week ago.manger took my name and number.i called back two days ago to confirm .a lady m. confirmed my information i left my house 1 1/2 hours so i would make it on time.drove through traffic.when i arrived there the manger looked at me with a blank face saying the girl that teachers the class did not show,and before i got there they had to send another lady home.i checked the website before i left and it never said cancel.i asked her why didn't you call me i could of turned back.i have been driving for almost two hours .she didnt seem to care i will never recommend jo-ann.i would make good toclient they really didn't care. jd read more
