The manager at the North Attleboro store is horrible. He can't answer basic questions about company policies and tells you to call customer service. If you are having an issue with the JoAnn app, he tells you to call IT. He is extremely rude and immature. He whines to the cashiers about not having his lunch while there is a long line of customers. The cashiers often need his help and he is very disrespectful to them. At times when the check out line is slow and long, he just walks away. His entire demeanor screams "It's not my problem." I've never experienced such an unpleasant and irresponsible employee like this guy. Anywhere. Ever! This used to be a great store. What happened? read more

I went to this Joann fabric store. North Attleboro. I went to the ladies restroom. It is the dirtiest bathroom I have ever seen. The toilets were filthy. The floor could not have been washed or swept in a very long time. The sinks were horrible. Scum build up. The paper towels were sitting on top of the towel dispenser. That meant if you needed a paper towel you had to pick it up with wet hands. Not at all sanitary. It was very gross. I told the women at the service desk about the condition of the bathroom. I left the store without purchasing anything. I was very grossed out. read more

I have never stepped foot into this store before and was pleasantly surprised that it resembles Michaels but heavier on the fabric and sewing part. I saw some gorgeous fabrics and it kind of inspired me to want to learn how to sew. My purpose of visiting was to gather holiday themed fabrics to cut bandanas for shelter dogs. I found some great fabrics on sale 70% off (doorbuster) and Maureen at the fabric cutting station was most helpful! She helped explain things while cutting the fabrics and even provided me with information on sewing classes. They also had a great deal for holiday decor, but 1 get three free! I purchased some beautiful glass ornaments. Will definitely be back here again and love the coupons! read more

This Jo-Ann Fabrics location is ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE!!! Walking into here is like strolling into a gigantic warehouse type establishment... think Sam's Club or BJ's... except its full of every arts and crafts supply you could ever imagine. If I had never visited this location, I would think that this chain was simply made up of small mediocre businesses not worth my time or effort to locate materials for my hand made projects. This location though, trumps all others within the area and is worth a trip to from time to time to stock up. When you are with your mom on one side of the store, decide to go look at cross-stitching kits in another section across the way, and it requires her to make large, animated hand motions to direct you to which section of the store it is in... you know you've hit the crafter's jackpot. My concern with this location's size, was in fact locating what I needed. Thankfully, this store is well organized and staffed with friendly associates willing to help you find what you want. On approaching one associate behind the fabric cutting counter for a leather needle I was looking for... she gave me a puzzled look, wasn't sure if the store carried the item, walked me over to where it would be located if they did, and lo and behold we both learned that they indeed carried the product. After a good laugh and surprise at how cheap the item was, we parted ways. The cross-stitching section is located just behind mountains and mountains of yarn piles. For some reason, many craft stores are no longer selling the kits. This place fortunately has not followed suit. In addition to a nice variety of kits, they also have a clearance section! Ahhh!! I ended up with two Christmas stocking designs to work on throughout the year. I could go on and on about this place. The fabrics are plentiful and well displayed by type and color. Frames and wall art adorn aisle upon aisle. They have the largest selection of scrapbooking supplies I have ever seen in one place. I skipped the whole middle section on this previous trip but I'm sure if I had delved into this area it would have been a long time before I was discovered and saved from the enormous sales and product to walk through. And though its a ways away at the time of this review... this place is an absolute madhouse on Black Friday. Unless you are buying fabric or whatnot in bulk at this time, I'd stay away. JoAnn's has most everything that crafters and sewers need. I love their online website too Bc I can order online and within a week, I have the things I needed. I always use their online coupons to lower my costs. Likewise, if I am going into the store, I can easily find a coupon to print and use in the store itself. They have a wide variety of fabric available and if you order some yardage and it is the end of the bolt of that piece, they include it on what you ordered at no charge. As a sewer, getting that little extra at no charge is just like Christmas. It is always such a nice surprise for me. Over the years, people have raved and raved to me about this store. I live in Westwood, and barely ever make it all the way out here for my "shopping" trips, normally because I find the Golden Triangle (Natick Mall area) to be more attractive for my needs (and a little bit closer...). However, with this absolutely BRILLIANT store.... my trips to the North Attleborough area could start increasing drastically. This specific store is GIGANTIC. While I thought I was lucky with the brand new Jo-Ann location in Walpole, this one is at least three times the size. And in comparison to the Natick location, it's at least ten times larger. With that, they have SO much. Sure, lots of fabrics, but in the departments I regularly shop in (painting, drawing, containers, classroom supplies), they had an overwhelmingly large and incredible stock. Specifically, they have a whole aisle of classroom decor for teachers. Before the start of the school year next year, I will definitely do all of my shopping for my classroom here.... it sure beats doing it all online. Section of containers and Crayola were also great and I'll definitely have to come back before Christmas for items in those departments. Great store and definitely a better choice than the Michaels on the other side of the highway (that isn't true for all Jo-Ann locations though....). I always thought of Jo-Ann as the sad looking stepsister to sexier craft stores. I was shocked to run into her again, all grown up and rather attractive. She's full of everything you could need, ever. I was impressed with the yarn selection, given that I typically yield to chain stores as a last resort. The selection here was worthy of First Stop. They had plentiful supplies in all other areas of crafting -- crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking, painting, quilting, fake flowering. Only super store in Massachusetts - One star Having craft supplies and fabric - One star Being clean and orderly - One star Having the absolute worst service in any store - Should be minus all stars!! I love this store because they have craft and fabric supplies, as well as great sales. Remnants were 70% off and redline fabric was 50% off so I bought a ton of it this week. The store is also very clean and they have a huge selection of quilting cotton and polar fleece. I've never looked at the other fabric but it overshadows most stores I go to. That being said, I've had the worst two experiences with Jo-Ann's this week. I went on Tuesday and was basically manhandled by the check out clerk and then yesterday, the cutting associate was doing me such a favor to cut my fabric and refused to sell me remnants. The people who work here are hands down the least friendly people. I interacted with three women who would not answer my questions (Can I get 1 yard of this) at an audible level or with a respectful tone. I'm young but hard of hearing and every question I asked the first clerk (an older woman) couldn't even be heard by the other people I was with. I was getting 1 yard of many fabrics but since this is a fabric store, this shouldn't be a huge inconvenience. My mother was getting other fabric at the same time and had an issue with her fabric receipt so we had to get another clerk to help us at the check-out. Once our order was rung up and all coupons entered, the sales terminal crashed and the other clerk had to re-enter the entire order (fabric by fabric) at another terminal. We received no apology for this and the clerk got so annoyed at having to do it. I understand that these things crash but an "Oh sorry, we have to move terminals" rather than grabbing our bags and crashing away from us. Just an idea... The final straw was remnants. My mom is making polar fleece covered hot packs and she was looking for remnants. When the cutting clerks have extra time, they roll these up and package them. Both times the clerks refused to sell us these remnants that were rolled up and just not labeled. I was really bothered by this because I was the only person in line yesterday and the clerk said "Oh this remnant isn't labeled so it doesn't exist yet" and tossed it under the counter. Hah, save it for yourself... I will go back only because they have a wide selection of almost every craft supply (except for glass etching boo) but I am seriously contemplating speaking with a manager next time I get attitude from a 60+ crafty grandma taking out her PMS on me. I've been to this store a few times now and I can honestly say it is well stocked and clean each time. I never realized how many cute little home decor items they carried! Also, they rival Michael's with craft and storage options and baskets galore! It's a fun place to check out when you're decorating and need a few things to tie the details together. A tip- there are ALWAYS coupons. Always. So search online before you go in and print or have it ready on your phone. They never tell you about coupons but they are there. You just need to do your homework. They run sales in store too but it's rare the sale items are excluded from their coupons (unlike Michael's). So don't forget! read more

Ever been to a DMV that smells like Yankee Candles, where you can browse some lovely floral patterns while you wait, and wait...and wait? I have. It's the new branch called Jo-Ann's. You only go there to buy fabric you love, because boy oh boy, you are going to wait for it. For the record, it's a nice place. My better half often coerces me into accompanying her there to pick out fabrics for one sewing project or another. They usually have what she's looking for. Never thought I'd say this, but I've actually enjoyed those trips. That is, until The Day We Waited. We weren't renewing a license or picking up plates, the way we would at one of those old-style DMVs that smell like winos and the white-knuckle fear of teen drivers. We wanted a few yards of fleece cut. We waited 40 minutes. We'd gaze off into the distance - to the big table where they were cutting fabric, where we all wanted fabric cut - and we wouldn't see the employees lopping away with the scissors. They were futzing around with their handheld price-checkers, and going back and forth with a customer with probably 60 pounds of merchandise in her cart (who was being "served" before all the people who needed maybe 90 seconds of cutting). The lady who finally helped us was very pleasant. I say "helped" instead of "cut our fabric" because by the time they finally called number 102 (us), we said "We'll take all this fabric - no need to cut." Then we expected a long line at checkout - there usually is one - but that time we didn't even have to wait. Everyone was still at the "cutting" table. In a nutshell: Jo-Ann's, you're ridiculously understaffed. Someone tell the managers when the busy days are. Oh, and Corporate HQ: please have an "express aisle" for the cutting table, the way they have at the supermarket. I'll think of doilies next time I renew my driver's license. read more

I made a last minute holiday run here one day with my bestie and she summed up this Joann's perfectly: "Wow... It's enormous." Walking into this Joann's is like walking into a very bright warehouse. It's vast, fabric to the left, other crafts to the right, the current holiday's wares in front of you, and I have no idea what's in the barrens in the back. I don't actually know if I've made it that far. The fabric section is surprisingly well organized and there's a good selection of it. What particularly pleases me is that it has a pretty substantial selection of novelty quilting cotton, well beyond teddy bears and country-home type prints. The last time I was poking around, I counted four different Day of the Dead patterns and three Hanukkah patterns. That's pretty exciting if you're looking to either make dresses for toddlers or dress like one yourself. There's a rainbow of zippers and thread near the cutting table. The trims sections feels a little sparse to me, but I imagine that's because I always have an idea of what I want and it may or may not really exist. The craft department seems a little less organized to me, but it's possible that's because all other crafty things are crammed into a third of the store. The yarn looks substantial, but I always seems to be looking for odd sizes or a specific colourway and it's not really anywhere but a dedicated yarn store. I have had a bit of trouble locating easier things, like beads or feathers, which is why this is a four star review. I've had no trouble with customer service. I haven't seen many employees out on the floor, but I also like browsing without being asked if I need help. Anyone I've spoken to at the cutting tables or the cash-wraps have been more than pleasant and helpful. I tend to come in with coupons from the mail and a couple from Joann's app and I've never felt like the cashier was impatient or aggravated by my poking away at my phone to find where exactly an extra code was. They've also been helpful telling me which coupons can be combined, which can't, and where the better discount lies. That's certainly enough to keep me coming back. It's still a big box, multiple craft store, but at least it's doing it right. read more

When I go to Jo-Ann's I almost always find what I need. There have been a few times that I've needed some assistance to find one thing or another or to ask a question and I've been all but impressed. I find that the employees in North Attleboro tend to enjoy each other's company much more than they do helping employees. There customer service is lackluster at best, but if you have a legitimate question they usually know the right answer. read more

Won't lie I'm a bigger fan of Michael's/hobby lobby, but I visited Joann's in a pinch today. the staff were friendly but the store was really under replenished and they had minimal registers open. considering it's the holiday season you'd think they'd up their crafting game a bit. hopefully they get the extra seasonal help soon. read more

I truly love Jo-Anns, It has everything I could possibly think of for any craft I have in mind. The staff is usually pretty friendly, the store is always clean and they always have post holiday stuff at really low prices. I never really went here I had always gone to their competitor across the street, thank goodness one day I just walked in. I've never been across the street since. The one thing I don't enjoy is almost everything is on sale.. that might sound odd but when their news paper flyers have 40-50% off coupons on non sale items (their sale usually being 10% off) it takes the wind out of my sails. I'm not a big arts and crafts guy, but this review is primarily focusing on the very well-received, but not well known arts and crafts section. For $5 per hour, my fiancée and I had a hands on, private tutoring session on making our costume for cosplay. Our instructor was very kind, helpful and very insightful and knowledgeable as well. We ended up leaving early due to previous engagement, but this was totally worth the time and the money. The only reason why this review got knocked a star was by the expensive charges of the actual items sold at this establishment, which, to a simple man like myself, seemed pricier than expected. read more

My family visited this location on 6/20/2020 and received the worst customer service ever. As proud African Americans we felt that Connie from their fabric department treated us with complete bias and disgust when we attempted to purchase fabric Connie's whole demeanor and body language completely changed from polite to short and rude when we approached the plexiglass counter. Connie in fact "shoed" is away hand motion and all and demanded 10 feet from the counter and quoted "store policy" as her grounds for mistreatment and unprofessional service. We have told all of our friends and family members to no longer frequent the Attleborough store and urge you to do the same. The store manager just brushed off the occurrence and did not properly address this event. Do not shop at this location if you value your hard earned dollars and do not support poor customer service and management from any Retailer. read more

Very rude employees. I had to get there to pick up an order of 1 yard of fabric today , which they took 2 weeks to fill) because I have to drop it off tomorrow and was super busy today. I got there 15 min prior to close and was less than greeted by a woman who was obviously in a bad mood. She said the store was over capacity and that they wouldn't be able to help me. I stated that I just had a yard of material to pick up (I received the notice this morning after 2 weeks that it was finally ready). She told me to then wait behind the green line. A man ended up coming out, again...very rude in the way he spoke...said can I help you (as if he was also in a bad mood). I then said I had an order of a yard of material to pick up. He said that they were closed and he couldn't help me and closed the door. I had a very tough day and was unable to get there earlier in the day because I work from home. The way they spoke to me was unprofessional and their demeanor was extremely rude. I will no longer order any items from this store. I work in customer service and would never take my bad day or have an attitude with with any of my clients. Shame on them. read more

This is a review of a jewelry making class at JoAnn in North Attleboro, MA. I paid $35 for 2.5 hours of instruction, and the additional purchase of all the required items on the supply list brought my total cost close to $100. The session began with the instructor complaining about students with bad attitudes and mentioned that someone had previously walked out of her class. That should have been a red flag. On and off throughout the class the instructor spoke at length and in detail about her personal life including extremely personal information that was off-putting and had no place at all in a class setting. With less than 30 minutes remaining in the class, we had not yet begun to string our simple necklaces. With just a couple minutes before the store closed we scrambled to finish our necklaces and were unable to make final adjustments due to lack of time. The description of the class included working with memory wire, which was something I was especially eager to learn. Unfortunately, the amount of time the instructor spent talking about personal family issues prevented us from learning how to use this and other required tools, cord and beads we had purchased specifically for this class. While I do not regret purchasing these items since I will seek to complete my instruction elsewhere, I do regret spending $35 for this class that had very little hands-on instruction. read more
