I've never taken the time to write a negative review because I understand that stores get busy or people have bad days. I've also always had great experiences at Joann With that in mind, I had the absolute WORST experience with this location. The employees of this store have no concept of what customer service is. Not only were they rude and short, but I had to come back on THREE separate occasions because my small order still wasn't ready even though I was told to come back at those times. I live down the street from this location but I will be going out of my way to not have to come here for supplies again. I would leave a 0/5 but that would take too little effort. read more

I went to Joann.com November 19th and dropped over $100 to buy a new sewing machine because mine had broken. I knew its was a busy season so I tried to be patient. Checked their shipping and processing information and patiently waited. Days went by. Days turned into weeks. I emailed joanns customer service. Received an automated response telling me they'd get back in 48 hours. TWO WEEKS go by. No contact. I email again. Nothing again. I ask to be escalated because this is ridiculous. Of course I get one baby response "I'll check on this and escalate to a manger" No management contact. I wait again. 2 days shy of waiting a full month after placing my order and they CANCEL my order. No sewing machine for me. No contact for resolution. Just a big F U from Joanns. I used to shop at joanns semi regular but I'll never step foot into another Joanns again. Shit service. Shit company. What a waste of time and space. As someone who works in customer service, I'm appalled at the poor practices, probably because Joanns isn't paying enough nor do they have enough employees. Slave labor but nothing to show for it. I don't know how anyone in this company sleeps at night. Y'all couldn't pay me to shop here. One week to Christmas and all I get is disappointment. I hope others read reviews online before purchasing cause I made the mistake of not doing so. Apparently the only way to get a response from Joanns is to go to the better business bureau. My wife loves JoAnn because they have a lot of stuff with exceptional quality for all kinds of crafts but me not so much as they are pricey compared to other places. The good thing is that this is a one stop shop for all supplies but I can hunt a deal in different lotion. Regardless if you can afford them it a wonderful store. read more

Wednesday night February 3rd 2021, I visited the shakopee location and had an experience that will stick with me forever. It sadly makes me no longer want to do business with Joann's. I've been seeing in multiple groups and online advertisements for black history month inspired prints. So I looked around and I couldn't find any. So I asked a consultant there with the name tag "Carmen" on. I asked her if there were any black history month prints and she had no clue what black history month was, or what I could be implying by the type of fabric I was looking for and why I'd be looking for it at Joann's. I told her that multiple places have set dedicated an area for black history month merchandise and she wanted me to tell her which stores could possibly be doing that. I named a few including JOANN'S! So she asked around and was told that that location doesn't carry BHM prints which in itself is very disappointing. But then she could tell I was annoyed by her ignorance and lack of care when I was looking for something that COULD be carried by the company she works for. So she followed me to tell me her father knew MLK. So she knew the relevance of the impact of MLK but was unaware of what black history month was or that there was dedicated merchandise the company offered. Her questions about why I wanted it and explaining in detail how BHM could be illustrated felt like she was trying to intimidate me out of wanting what I came to the store for. After realizing I was upset she spoke with a manager who told her only the larger stores carry it. She kept excusing her ignorance when that wasn't really the case at all. She KNEW what I was looking for and if she didn't and genuinely cared about what the inquiring customer was needing she wouldn't have tried to intimidate me about why I would think they carried something for "what is it called again? Black history month??" I couldn't even believe it. Another African American woman over heard our conversation and set down the items she had and left. I also can say I have no interest in supporting a company that advertises something but doesn't even inform/educate their employees on how to hold conversations with people on retrieving what's being advertised. I will also let people know if they're interested in support black communities and having representation in our fabrics maybe Joann's just isn't the place to purchase from considering their employees don't support what you say your company wants to be "known for". How can you make money off of black people and your employees don't even want to sell it to them because they don't know about the history, culture, or that the company they work for actually offers the options to have the representation ?? read more

I was immediately helped by an excellent, knowledgeable clerk. She located my item quickly. She was friendly, professional, and masked. Delighted with my experience and even though this is three stores away from my nearest Joann's, I highly recommend it. Thank you for making my quilting shopping a pleasure! read more
