This store is in desperate need of Corporate attention. The store is in complete disarray. JoAnn needs to focus on sewing, crafts, and classes. Get rid of the candy, grocery bags, kids toys, and home decor. Anticipate a 10-20 min. wait in line to checkout, because despite having six registers, you're lucky if two of them are open. I rarely find what I want, and when I do, the shelf or bin is empty. Thread and ribbons are always a disaster. Despite having a good location, this store is a mess! read more

We recently stopped by this Joann location to get needed scrapbook cardstock. The prices were on sale and they were fully stocked which was such a pleasant surprise because my store had Scraptique scrapbook retreat in Estero, this location off 75 was so convenient for the stop. We shopped the whole scrapbook area and their selection was terrific. It was clean and had a huge amount of supplies that we purchased quite a few things. The clearance items were in marked bins, and when I asked assistance from a nice and polite worker, she was eager to help me get confirmed pricing. On check out, Jill the cashier helped me and was so positive in her manner. I was with 2 of my girlfriends and we commented to her how we really loved their store and will return here every trip we make because of our experience. Thank you Joann's for being our one stop store and having this location so convenient off I-75!! This store is woefully understaffed for a Saturday morning. Eight people in line at registers with 2 cashiers, 1 lady cutting fabric with 5 people waiting. The lady in fabric area was very nice and apologetic. There was 1 lady who appeared to be a manager who was very hateful towards the lady cutting. read more

These employees need TRAINING, badly. First of all, there was a sign that said "order online and pick up" by one of the registers. We waited there for about 8 minutes, only to find that we were not in the right place and that we should go wait in line behind the other five customers who needed to pay, have their items put in bags, etc. That doesn't make any sense. I had already paid online and my items were in bags. Very inefficient and inconvenient process. Then the person at the register where we picked up our online order had to shout over to his manager to ask for instructions on how to complete the online order pick up process. I believe that cashier was new. We didn't like some of the items/they didn't match the online description, and the first individual at checkout did not know how to process the return. The next cashier we came to was older and INSISTED that we have a paper receipt (like one that prints out at the register) in order to process a return. She also thought that we hadn't yet paid for the order. It was bizarre, confusing, and we ultimately had to wait for the only person in the whole building who knew what they were doing to come over and help. The manager who know what they were doing, then proceeded to go through all of the prompts on the computer screen/cash register in front of her, and I hope to god that she later explained the process to her older cashier companion who was as clueless as can be. This is the first Joann Fabric store I will never return to I purchased a solar light. I followed the instructions on how to make this operate. It did not work. I tried the following evening. Still did not work. I returned it to this store and was asked by the cashier "what do you mean it doesn't work"? I said, "it doesn't work, what else do you need me to say? "Then he says, "did you buy it when it didn't work?" I had no reply to that. When checking out after further purchases, I told the manager about this and she says "well sometimes people don't know how to operate them." I love Joann's and can spend hours there. That's why my husband refuses to come with me when I shop there. LOL. There is a good breadth of product selection, so you can find most of what you need for crafting. The coupons and app are great for discounts and sales. I'm sad that the selection of fabrics is relatively pedestrian for clothes fabrics but that goes with fewer people sewing. I go to the NYC garment district to shop for fabric! Having knowledgeable staff used to be one of Joann's hallmarks. Not so much anymore. Definitely customer service training is needed. Saying hello when I come in the store is not enough. They need people who act like they care about my craft project and help me work out what I need even if it's not their specialty. That's the only reason I don't give it five stars. read more

Do NOT go on senior day (unless you are a senior & will get a nice discount) - senior days are a monthly Many fabric options. Lots of patterns and colors. Limited outdoor fabric selection. Many vinyl (clear) options to protect your fabric. Ranging in thickness from REALLY think to VERY thick. Long long line to get your fabric cut - lots of waiting. Staff is not very helpful and almost act as if they are annoyed with you when you request fabric samples to be cut. - they have a maximum sample request of 5 different fabrics. You need to wait in a long line just to get fabric samples cut and they need to cut a one inch length (way more fabric than is needed for a sample) **At other fabric stores they give customers a pair of scissors and allow you to cut your own small fabric sample to take home with NO limits like at Boca Bargoons of Sarasota. The fabrics on the large rolls have pre cut samples which is great! Prices are fair. Tip: Look for coupons online or in your mail/Sunday newspaper. read more

I would have given 0 stars, the two women cutting fabric were a joke. I waited in line for cutting for 30 minutes and still had 3 people ahead of me....i heard a customer scolded for not having a number.......slow and incompetent are nice words..... I understand being new, but really, have you not had any training at all??! Then clerk #2 stops to help you so no one is cutting!!! I left my purchases on the counter..... beautiful store, great products, but Joann you need to step up your customer service !!!!! I will not return to this location!!! read more

During the COV-19 it has become worst store. They limit the number of customers in the store which is good thing but the number of customers for the size of the store is arbitrarily low. The staff is insufficient for the customers. You still waiting for cutting and checking out. Staff is required to man the door as if you are a nightclub without VIP pass. You have wait to be allowed in and then after you have paid, you wait to exit. These people at the door are working on curbside orders. I heard them in the phone while waiting. They Re curt and rude. I get it you asked the same question 1000 times in a day but it's the first time that customer has asked you. Furthermore, get someone else specifically to answer the phone. Update: Their manager on duty called me back just now and couldn't care less.. she said the register froze and Judy couldn't cancel it there.. that doesn't give you the right to be rude and mean, Judy could've told me that herself.. the manager didn't even apologize and just said mmhmm I'll make sure the real manager knows. Judy probably lied and said I was rude or yelling or something to save her butt. I'll be calling back to speak with the real manager and going to corporate with this complaint. All I wanted was an apology and to know Judy will be told to not do that again and instead I get another person that couldn't care less. It's sad the St Petersburg store apologized on this stores behalf.. I have never been treated so poorly and rudely than when calling this store and speaking to JUDY. I called a few days ago to see if the yarn I ordered for in store pickup was actually in stock since it showed 2 available and there was no update all day. She refused to go look and told me just to wait and see.. I called the next day and spoke with a different girl that was polite and she looked in the aisles and said they were sold out, so great that helped. Then I called back to cancel my online order because I used guest checkout and can't cancel it online myself and this is where Judy gets means. She places me on hold after rudely saying they're busy and do it online, I say I can't and she gets annoyed and places me on hold. Then the phone rings again because I'm on hold a whole, no problem I know she's busy, but she answers and quickly said we are busy and places me immediately back on hold.. then it rings again after another minute and she asks for my name and order number and kept cutting me off while saying and then rudely saying can you go slower.. so I do and she asks my number to call me back and I ask her why she can't just cancel it like the st Petersburg store did a minute before in two seconds and she refused to answer and gets a high pitch rude voice and was very childish saying to give her my number and Ill see what I can do.. I asked her name and she laughed and said Fred, then hung up. I called back to make sure my order will be cancelled and she hung up without answering 3 times in a row! I called the St Petersburg store and the manager there apologizes and said to call back and ask for their manager on duty since they're new and might not have a manager. I do and Judy thankfully answers with her real name and refuses to let me speak to the manager. She said I need to give my name, which I did and she got quiet and just says she's busy at the register and obviously was too afraid to let me speak to her manager due to her sad and flat out terrible behavior over the phone. I left my name and number with her and I don't expect her to have the manager call me so I will be contacting corporate and the store daily until i let them know how she bahaved. I was shaking on the phone after she hung up that's how rude and mean she was. I don't care if you're busy you don't have the right to speak like that to a customer that's only been polite to you. If you're busy fine, place me on hold again but do not start being mean and hanging up on me when I was not being rude back. read more

I am surprised at the negative reviews. I worked with Dolores and Linda in fabric and both were extremely helpful. They were pleasant and knowledgeable. Placed an online order yesterday morning for curbside pickup. 36 hours later and..... no order... I called to kindly ask about it and was pretty much told off. I've never experienced anything like this from any store. I've been to this particular joann's a few times in the past and most of the people who work there aren't very helpful or kind. Not sure why. Typically, I'm a fan of JoAnn Fabrics, I spend hours in there BUT the employees at this location are not as friendly and personable as I'm used to. No one greeted me or asked if I needed assistance. I took a roll of fabric to the counter to ask if they had it in another color and the woman's response was "I wouldn't know unless I went over there!" She didn't offer to help me look so I said "So if it I don't see it over then you don't have it?" And she responded "Yes!". Zero customer service!!! ZERO! She wasn't busy, there wasn't anyone else in line, it wasn't closing time....she just didn't want to help me. Don't go to this location with any expectations! read more

You would assume being a craft store that employees would have some knowledge about crafting. That is not the case with this store. I am a beginner when it comes to sewing and fabric but both times I had question about this topic, I am confident that I knew more than the employees working in the fabric department. They were actually rude and acted like I was bothering them with my questions. I also felt like the rest of the employees were not very friendly and they lack in any customer service. DON'T ORDER ONLINE FROM JOANN! I have to say that the store itself has always been great, but I didn't want to go in person so I ordered mask material from Joann online. I ordered 4 different fabric cuts to use for masks on 4/19, and they informed me today, 5/1 - almost 2 weeks later - that they did not really have 3 of the 4 pieces they sold me. In this day of COVID, it is UNFORGIVABLE that they should actually take my order and take 2 weeks to tell me I'm not getting the material for my masks. THIS DECISION CAN LITERALLY KILL ME. I am calling tomorrow morning and telling them what they can do with the last little piece they're planning to send, since I have to order from someone else now anyway. Nov 21 three employees. One only worked fabrics and two at registers. One at register could not help me, it was her second day. One remaining employee was totally nasty. New employee and I asked her to help me find 2 items. She told me to look in 3 different areas. I told her I did and she said not every Joann's stocks the same products. No way for her to look up in inventory. Told me to go to Internet. The young new girl apologized to me. I left cart full and she said it was OK she would put items back. Learned how not to treat customers on day 2. Will tell every woman I know now and in future not to go to this store. read more
