My husband/I are having an old tub removed and the area converted to a walk-in shower. I wanted guidance choosing tile, so I made a consultation appointment. I was assigned to Norma and meeting with her was a wonderful experience. I took in samples of our bathroom cabinets/floor/wall color, and she worked with me for over an hour (longer than the normal time listed for consultation) advising as well as answering all my questions. I went back a few days later to narrow the choices and again Norma was great as she worked with me. Just your normal Floor&Decor selection, however, the worst help I've ever run into at a Floor&Decor. One lady was helpful. But nobody else in the store was helpful. I was outside in the truck under the overhang and my friend was inside asking for loading assistance. It was raining and my friend asked the cashier three times about assistance and twice the cashier asked one of her male co-workers about helping load, as we had 12 boxes of tile, two large bags of mortar, a large bag of grout, and multiple bags of tile spacers. Finally my friend spoke to McKenna in the design department radioed for assistance and Dee came from the back of the store and immediately started to load without any hesitation. After he loaded several boxes of tiles, then and only then, did three other coworkers who wouldn't assist previously came out to assist. Thank you McKenna and Dee! GREAT EXPERIENCE and stellar employee, (Donald). I spent a great deal of time looking for just the right material to build a TV/Fireplace accent wall for my home. I found my way to Floor & Decor. They had a large selection of stone that looked as if it would work for my project. It was on that first visit I met Donald who is responsible for the stone works area of the store. Donald spent quite a bit of time with myself and my wife explaining the in the material, how it differed in manufacture, workability etc. It took several visits to the store after taking home samples and figuring out which would work in my home before I settled on the DelSol version. Each time I went back I worked with Donald and on each visit he was patient and helpful in talking me through what it would take to do the job. My confidence grew and as I built out the wall I stopped in again to speak to Donald about how best to deal with my unique situation. In the end, I managed to build a great looking wall that came out even better than I could have imagined. Had it not been for Donald, I would have likely been working with a different vendor and paying for an installation/build out. I have worked in sales much of my life and know a good "salesperson" when I see one. Donald is just that! Put the customer first, invest in their success and business will follow. Let me tell you about this joint. My wife and I stopped in to get some ideas for our back splash and wood flooring. Floor and Decor has hundreds of back splash choices and thousands of tile choices as well as dozens of wood flooring options. I think we spent 3 hours there before finding exactly what we wanted. This however is not why we give it 5 stars. We give it 5 stars because they went out of their way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. They were short 1 box of tile for the back splash and offered to pick the box up, on their own personal time and bring it to the store. Then, when that was taken care of, they spent 2 hours with us showing us exactly what we needed to do our wood floors and how to do it. The selection is great and the people are nice BUT.... My contractor picked up the tile for the shower...... we are ready to tile and realize that he was give 3 different types of floor tile. Make sure you check over everything you buy and do not start the job until you have everything you need actually in your hands. Just because they said they have it in stock, does not mean the warehouse actually has it. I was also charged for tile for my laundry room that I was told was in stock when I paid for it. Contractor was there to pick it up, and they said it will be in next month. At that point the store has you over a barrel and you have to pick something else from them that they have there because your contractor is ready to do the work. So 2 for 2.... messed up the shower floor and the laundry room floor. They are lucky there is not very much competition in the direct area. read more

He helped us select tiles that would work with what we already have and, after we found a floor tiles we were totally in love with, he helped us process the order and helped us load it into the car. So we headed back up and, as we were putting the cartons on a cart, who should walk by but Donald and he recognized us! I have bought tile for more than 5 homes. Usually from Home Depot or Lowe's and have never experienced any difficulty with cheap or moderate priced tiles. I recently purchased 1000sqft of tile from Floor and decor. They were happy to sell me the backer boards, all the mastic and grout but no one mentioned any problems I might have with this tile. The tile is extremely poor quality. Everything sticks to it and requires solvents and hands and knees scrubing for anything more than dust. If it becomes wet pink shows through. No one has moved in the home yet and it is a disaster. When I complained at the store they told me it was my fault for having bought cheap tile. This job now requires special sealants, additional labor and may or may not ever be okay. This tile is $5,000! Down the drain. Please buyer beware at Floor and Decor. read more
