I remember we had a Joann Fabrics on my town when I was a child, and it was a small store. This store is huge, and it is a lot more than fabrics. When you are lucky you can get great holiday finds at a discount. The fabric selection...well, it is hard to know what customers like, and probably a lot aren't buying fabrics, so the selection for my liking is not my type. The ambiance is hard to describe. With a large store with fun holiday items and other craft items that I don't shop for, I guess it could be called satisfying. The register service is great, but there aren't many employees on the floor for help. I just love this store and they have original pieces great and affordable for our home. read more

My first visit to this location, although I frequent the chain throughout the central Florida area. I decided to pop into this one to see what fabrics they may have that varied from the ones in our immediate area. I'm glad that I did because I found a few I really liked that I had not seen at our location. They have all the same seasonal and regular crafting items you'd expect from the chain itself. This location is clean and organized throughout. The fabric cutting counter area was quick and easy. The follow the number pull process well and there was minimal line and three associates cutting items. The line for checkout was deceivingly long, but moved very quickly. They called up a couple more cashiers as soon as they saw the line getting long. We were through the line in just a short wait. Overall: A Clean and well organized. Elizabeth in Fabric was extremely helpful! She was able to help me find the correct fabric I was looking for, matched the price to the website for me, and even offered me a discount on the remaining fabric on that roll just in case we needed it. I know JoAnn Fabric can have a bad rap, but as soon as I walked back to the counter the 3 employees stopped their conversation and immediately helped me. And Elizabeth even explained how the machine worked to my son so he knew what was happening. Love this store! I was always a Michael's or AC Moore girl so when I moved out to Winter Garden I didn't really know what I expect when I walked in. This store is awesome - I can get lost in it for hours if I really wanted to, with all the ideas I get. The employees have always been super friendly and helpful. They usually have great deals and lots of Cricut products that I'm looking for. Since COVID, I started using their new curbside pickup feature. I love this so much and I hope they keep it forever! It has definitely improved since the beginning as now they added a new app that you use to let them know when you are on the way so that when you get there, they are either waiting for you or come right out. Things I hope they fix: add this to the Joann's app so it's not 2 apps, and also create a few pickup spots instead of pulling up to the store. I always feel like I anger people or I'm going to get hit pulling up to the store. However, I'm still grateful for this and LOVING this feature- PLEASE keep it forever! I like Joann Fabrics in the Fowler's Grove shopping center. it's a big store that is kept well stocked and has nice employees. Admittedly...you have to know the store layout and what you are looking for because there is almost never an employee on the floor assisting customers. On a plus side you can stack coupons and they have good sales. This used to be my go to store but I stopped doing crafts, sewing projects and needing specialty baking items when my children grew up. Now that my grandson is on the scene my visits seem to ramping up again. Recently I wanted a Spider-Man tablecloth that would fit a couple of 8 foot banquet tables. The only thing that I could find online or in stores came in plastic. I've never been a fan of the flimsy plastic or one use table covers so we were off to Joann's. Just my luck they were having a one day sale that included the Licensed Character Line at 50 percent off. This brought the Spider-Man print down to $5.25 a yard. My daughter and I had several prints to choose from so we decided to pick up a second print to make Spider-Man bean bags. There was no line in the fabric area so we were in and out of the store in 15 minutes. read more

Usually JOANN's is hit and miss but today they had everything we went in for. I do have to admit the service is really slow. We were in the spray paint section and I pushed the button to have someone come and unlock it. My friend and I waited for over 10 minutes to have someone come. We pushed the button two times and then finally someone came to help us. When we were in the line to checkout they only had one cashier actively working while one other girl was at a "closed" register having a conversation with another employee. They could've open both or even a third register to make the line go faster since there was a long line behind us. read more

Joanne's is a fun store to visit. Usually, I have some specific thing I am shopping for, but this store has so many interesting things that I always have to look! This means I always find something I didn't know I needed, too. This location has a great and helpful staff. I would like to 'think' I am really crafty and a good seamstress, but in truth, I need a LOT of direction. That's where a great and knowledgeable staff is the biggest bonus for me. I welcome reminders that maybe I need to pick up some glue to go with my glitter project! Without that reminder, I would get home only to have to run back out to the store again. This store has a great selection of fabric. Everything from novelty, fun fabric to elegant fabric, worthy of wedding attire. The store also carries a range of fabric for large projects, like redoing furniture coverings, drapery, outdoor fabric and more. Joann's also has a nice variety of yarn, thread, buttons, sewing machines, craft kits and more. One could spend hours and never get bored! Let me make a note as I see the less than great reviews recently regarding the availability of fabric and notions. Yes, it's true. Guess what! ALL STORES have no fabric, or a limited selection. The mills making fabric and the factories that bolt it, also were locked down along with the rest of us, so it makes sense that supplies would be limited to what's available and of course, the 'team themed' fabrics are scarce right now. To that I say, give it a minute! It will take a little time to rebuild the inventory, but I have no doubt that Joann's will carry all my favorites as soon as they are available again. I love to decorate my house for every holidays and JOANN caters to that! For Halloween I get AMAZING and beautiful decor, kitchen items and other items that are themed for the house. I really like this store; used to shop here all the time. During this pandemic, as a sewist I learned they are giving away pre-cut fabric to make masks to donate for hospital workers. I went in with my significant other & teenage daughter; both of whom sew. Well... 1) they only gave us a bag with material cut for 5 masks. F-I-v-e. I can literally sew 5 masks in under 30 minutes. That alone makes this a waste of the gas it cost to get here. 2) and this gets me the most irritated. It's 1 bag (of 5 masks) PER GROUP. Not per person. So although myself, my SO & my daughter all sew... we were only allowed 5 masks. So, 15 minutes of work, flat. How ridiculous. We should have walked in separately, I guess. 3) the lady who dealt with us was grumpy as hell. We were never anything but polite, but I got the feeling she hates the folks sewing masks for the hospitals. I'm sewing them primarily for a local hospice who desperately needs large numbers of masks. What a shame this Joanns is compared to other states'... I've heard most states give a bolt of fabric for this purpose. Will definitely be bringing my business elsewhere. read more

With it being "my" store, I am biased to the flow of the items they have. It is always organized and neat; everything is where is should be. A person named ESTHER came over to help and was very rude. She scolded me in front of the other customers for having faded receipts and then refused to finish my return when I became upset with her for treating me like her child. 29/100 2017 Review Challenge Today was a good day for crafting, if any crafting had actually gotten done but we bought all the supplies! Joann fabrics was having a pretty good sale and they accepted our online coupons which they scanned from our phones. We saved lots of money and managed to only spend about $70. The store was kind of difficult to maneuver. They don't really have signs so you have to just walk around and search for what you need. It was difficult to find anyone on the floor for help as well. I couldn't find everything that I needed and ended up buying the materials to make what I wanted myself. Ugh......Anyway, the line was pretty short and the lady at the register gave us some info on the accessories that we purchased for the cameo my friend has. The upside is that their fabric section is half the store. So you can pretty much find anything.... except the fabric what we were looking for of course. Lol read more

The manager Rhonda is absolutely rude and completely unprofessional. I had a very serious issue that needed to be dealt with. She completely lacked compassion, was too lazy to help me and told the other employees to not talk to me on the phone anymore. Customer service is 100% lacking at this store. The person who answered the phone tonight kept hanging up on me and insulted me. The funny thing is I was actually calling back to thank the one manager who at first appeared to be helpful. I wanted to thank her for all of her time. However she would not come to the phone now. I'm sure because Rhonda told her not to talk to me anymore. I will never step foot in that store again. I am pursuing on my own to contact the district manager to tell them of my terrible experience with his employees because Rhonda refused to leave him a message for me. read more

My friends and I were having an arts and crafts night and needed some supplies. This is the closest crafts store to us and is most convenient. This store also has lots of wonderful items and gives you lots of creative ideas. They also have a number of great classes for decent prices. When I went in on a Sunday afternoon, it was pretty busy. The line in the front was really long. I don't go into this store very often and found it a little confusing. The departments are labeled with signs hanging from the ceiling, but I don't think that the aisles are labeled very well. I finally found some of the items that I was looking for. I needed 3 or 4 glass jars with lids and found a variety of them along the far wall, however they didn't have multiple of the same kind. I went to look for someone who worked there and must have walked around the store twice. I stopped at a desk in the jewelry section where 3 people, whom I assumed worked for the store, were talking about some issues they were having. After a minute, one of the ladies noticed me and I asked for assistance. She directed me to the fabric section. There were so many people in line and I really didn't want to wait. So I went to check out and they actually had a decent selection of mason jars in the checkout line, so I just grabbed some of those. Overall, this is a great store and my go-to place for crafts and ideas. They have a lot of awesome products and the classes would be fun to take. read more

This store has the best selection of fabrics and yarn out of any place I've ever seen! There's usually a coupon for whatever you're looking for as well. Might have to wait a minute at the register, but overall a lovely store. 6-2-2017 I had come into the store to pick up yarn and use my 50% off of one item coupon on my phone. Unfortunately I didn't have enough reception to load it on this day in line. I had tried several times with no success. My cashier Monica (I believe her name was) saw that I was having trouble loading that specific coupon and was able to find the code for it and gave me the 50% off. This JoAnn's location is large and clean. The staff is always friendly and has helped me with sewing advice on numerous occasions. They always take an interest in the project that I am working on. At the same time, they are not irritating in continually asking me if I need help while I spend hours roaming the store. They also let me pull up coupons on my phone, which I appreciate. This is a new, huge Jo-Anns. Located at the new shopping center in Winter Garden you could easily get lost in here. Sparkling clean, this store has everything you could need for any arts and crafts type project. The employees are sometimes hard to find but usually oblige in helping show you where things are or answer your questions. This place is a rip off. We had to pay $15 for each kid to participate in "slime social" event for absolutely NOTHING!!! We had to pay for ALL supplies ourselves, another $30 out of pocket. $60 total for 3 hours of fun for kids?? NEVER AGAIN!!! I love this place. LOVE. I could get lost in here for hours, spending all kinds of money that I don't have. The staff is really great and the place is always so clean and organized. Even the clearance areas after the holidays. They are also super wonderful with returns. We purchased a picture frame and when we got home to put the picture in, the glass cracked on the corner when taking the back off. I visited this store for the first time last week. The selection was blah and although the sales personal on the floor was were hard to run down. The lady cutting the fabric was a sweetheart. My sister and I had a basket full of fabric and on the way to the front of the store we ask the sewing machine woman about threading the new machines. I said I got a brother and I was having trouble threading it. She told me she did not sell brother. I said could see that but if I could see how the automatic threader worked on "A" machine it may help me. I was informed that when I order my machine from Amazon I don't get the person attention I would expect if I purchased it at a local store. i understand this. but I wasn't asking for free sewing lessons. It would have taken 2 min. of her time to show me how it worked on one of her machines. She could see I had a ton of fabric in the basket. I thought even is she was in independent contractor at the store. She could have been much nicer. The only nice person in the store, cut the fabric. read more

I was in your store on 1/17/11 picking up a special order but had a problem with a previous purchse that I was overcharged on. The cashier called for the manager who was very helpful but the cashier was being extremely argumentative. The manager was trying to diffuse the situation and also trying to refund the money that was due to me. As I was leaving, the cashier rudely called out that the next time I make a special order I would be charged the shipping fee no matter what. I returned home and called the store manager, she immediately knew who I was and expressed how embarassed she was over the whole situation. I was directed to make a formal complaint with the corporate office. It is a shame that one cashier can ruin a shopping experience and make a person not want to return to that store. read more
