Besides Homegoods and Target, Michael's is the other store I find myself wandering for hours. I just love crafts and this store in particular is pretty well stocked most of the time. They have tons of great door buster sales and frequently send coupons. Therefore, do yourself a favor and always come in with a coupon to save yourself a couple of bucks. You can easily find yourself spending heaps of money here. The downsides: Access to this Michael's can get a bit tricky and annoying when there is a lot of traffic on Turkey Lake Road. Whenever I've been in the store looking for something in particular that I can't get to through the virtual store map on the app, I find it hard to get help from the associates. This location is tucked inside of another shopping area. They do have a large parking lot, however, everything is a little bit of a funky layout so be sure to pay attention to where you're going. When you get inside they do have carts over to the left hand side of the entry. The store itself is clean and well-kept. There were some things in random areas, but that's probably due to customers putting things back in the wrong area. The biggest issue here is the cash register area. They have not updated it so that it's one line for all the registers. They still have the old fashioned way of doing it where every register is step. There was a person who is returning items and this caused the line to back up to about 10 people deep. With only one cashier. They did bring up another cashier but it really didn't help move things along very quickly. The store itself looks like it's a little bit dated as well. I think the whole thing could probably just use a facelift and a bit of a modernization to match its sister stores in the area and it would do just fine. Overall: B An update to the way the registers are set up and a little bit of a modernization and this place could easily be a 4-star and up. read more

I had an excellent visit at Michael's today. I was looking for a few specific items; charm rings, a few sheets of foam board, green paint, and paint brushes. The whole crew was very helpful! This Michael's allows trained dogs on a leash. My hound dog was with me and everyone was very nice to her! I would definitely go back for all my crafting needs. read more

We had checked out an item online and it was in stock at our local store. We happened to be in the area and decided to see if it was available at this location. Upon entering we noticed they had quite the sale going on. We found the item we were looking for but it did not fill our need. Since we were in the store everyone wandered around and found other items that interested them. When we left we had over a half dozen items that we had not come in for and were able to use a coupon to boot. It turned into a good shopping trip as we found some good deals and had some new ideas on things to make. Michaels is always a good store for crafting supplies and more. Employees were wearing masks but social distancing was not being enforced. read more

Alright, here's an confession ... I love Michael's ... especially this Michael's store. Why? Well, they always have what I'm looking for in stock plus more options that I imagined. The prices are great (especially if you sign up for their coupons.) The employees are always super helpful and this the store is in a great location with plenty of parking. Also the store and their bathrooms have always been clean when I visited. So, yay! Their framing department does a good job too! They will spend time with you to make sure you get the look that you want. I have been to other Michael's stores in the Orlando area that weren't as organized, the staff wasn't as attentive and they didn't have as much stuff in stock. Always fun to go to Michael's. So many things to get creative, they have great selection for anything from arts and crafts to frames, flowers,, baking and so much more! They have really good specials too, always a plus! Great location, I can visit during lunch time and serves as therapy, lol I took a star off as been as busy as it gets they only had one cashier, it took a while and I mean a while for customers to be on the line for one more employee to come and assist and this is not the first time I experience this at this specific location. The cleanest and most organized Michaels I have ever visited. The variety of items is unsurpassed. The associate Howard was very helpful and friendly. He not only honored the Michael coupons we brought, but found ways to save us more money. It is rare to find such customer friendly and helpful store employee. Located in Dr. Phillips Whole Food shopping area, this places has everything you might want for arts and crafts, and in my case--jewelry repair. With so many finicky bits and pieces to chose from, finding the right part can be tricky with jewelry. The staff was very helpful in giving me the guidance I needed to get the right product. read more

While I have been to this store many times, I have not checked in on Yelp for this location too many times. This store does offer custom framing and they do a good job, but sometimes I feel like they are trying to up-sell me something I don't want or need. That said, they actually do a pretty nice job. My most recent trips to this location have been to purchase DMC thread for a project and possibly a kit project, which they did not have in the store. This store does have a great selection of DMC thread, but some of the colors I needed were either unavailable or out of stock. There was a nice woman staff that was friendly and happy to help me find what I needed and with her guidance and kindness, my shopping mission was accomplished! Sounds great, right? Well, here's why the 3 stars: 1] I stopped in right before closing time and while they let one customer in who was literally, 30 feet in front of me, when I tried to enter, the girl at the door said, 'sorry, we are closed.' Okay, I'll grant that one, it was about 8:56p and they close at 9pm, so I get it. I had a long day working and this was my only chance to buy my thread or I would have to wait a couple of days, as I had to work. That didn't thrill me, but I get it. 2] While this store has a ton of items for virtually any kind of craft you want to do, there is a price to pay. I find this store and all Michael's a bit more costly than their competitors. What I can buy elsewhere, less than a mile away, is much less expensive at their competitor. 3] I don't like the barrage of stuff that is in the store when I walk in. It's just too much. It can almost make you forget what your original intent was to come into the store. Too much clutter! 4] Price. I have heard it said that if you don't have a coupon, wait to buy it when you do. True! If I want a craft kit, I will need to have the famous 'coupon' or I am paying too much. I was able to find the exact kit that I wanted on-line for much less than any kit at Michael's. Sorry to give you only 3 stars, but I find it generous given the 'sorry we are closed' statement. I will add a number 5 why I won't go back, but this is out of the store's control. There is a trend of pan-handling in the parking lot here. It's a different kind of pan-handler, too. These are late 30s-early/mid 40s women, nicely dressed and saying they have lost their purse or whatever and need to get home. Okay, the style is new, but it's still pan-handling and I don't like it. Since the parking area is shared with other store fronts, I think the stores should get together and have some sort of security patrol; that's just my opinion, but a good reason not to return, too. read more

In a shopping center off of Sand Lake and Turkey Lake. I am for sure a fan. I tend to find things here that are out of stock at my local store. Although their prices tend to be higher then their competitors. They have a great rewards program that gets you great coupons which make their prices easier to swallow. Parking lot is always clean, the bathrooms should be tended to more. Store is jammed picked with stuff. Fairly organized though. The problem here is staff.They need more personnel. Staff at the register are nice and friendly but lines tend to be long. Worth the trip if you know what you are looking for. Just know before you go because you will not be able to find someone to help you. read more

Like most Michael's locations, it is a sea of activities for a rainy day or if you need something craft like which no one has. This one has a pretty decent location nestled near two major roads for the area. This location has a pretty decent size and hosts a little bit of everything, from dry flowers to framing. While walking through the store, I did notice some gaps in their selection, meaning empty spaces in departments. However, the one thing I was blown away by was the accuracy of information the staff had. My girl friend and I had gone in there to look for things to create a shadow box from a recent trip. We wondered around for a few and then stumbled on an employee, one walked us right to the location. The other one we came across for another item, knew exactly which aisle number to go to. With over 50 aisles, that's a bit of skill. The staff also had a very easy going mentality, not concerned with making money or even overtly trying to show great service. They provided what was necessary, maybe a little further depending on the employee. read more

Awful customer service and the staff have no idea what they are doing. There are always long lines at the register and they don't know the store policies. After explaining something to me about exchanges they called over a manager to say the same thing acting like I couldn't comprehend English. They are rude and will not work with the customer. I am calling corporate to explain my situation and suggesting a retraining for their staff! read more

It's pretty much just another Michaels, place was torn apart from Christmas transition, but other than that pretty basic.

Everyone in the store is very friendly and helpful. Sales and coupons are a great deal and value for the money, however they don't carry the same items I've purchased in the past for Bachelorette party items. read more

The cashier Lisa H. has a such terrible attitude. She was rude , condescending, and had no customer service skills at all. I was there with my daughter and her friend. My daughter's friend purchased some items but she didn't have money with her so I would like 2 different transactions (one transaction for my daughter's and another transaction for her friend since her mother said she would pay me back ). We have 3 people so we have the right to use coupon 3 times. We only use coupon twice and Lisa , cashier, condescendingly insulted me by saying "that's one way beating the system". I'm not beating any system. We have every right to use coupon 3 times if we want. I was telling her no I am not beating the system , I have every right to use coupon up to 3 times but I only use twice totally (one coupon for each transaction). Lisa rudely and sarcastically made comments : thank you for educating me. This is my part time job any way (oh so that's her excuse why she treated customers rudely like this). I was baffling because I have never encountered to this horrible service ever at any retail stores. The manager came out and didn't even say one word to Lisa while she got really close on my face and screamed at me, and while my daughter and her friend were shaken and felt terrified. NEVER GET ANYTHING FRAMED HERE! Took an original piece of art to get framed, and first off they are WAY OVER PRICED compared to competitors. When I went to pick up the piece two weeks later when they called and said it was ready, and noticed right off the bat that they had framed it up side down. Instead of weighting it at the bottom like all art is, they had weighted it at the top. When I pointing it out Heather, she didn't even understand what it meant to have a work weighted (so much for 'certified framing experts'). I told them I would come back the next day to pick it up so they could fix it. When I returned the next day, they hadn't even touched the piece. After talking to two different managers they agreed to have it redone the same day. When I returned to look at the finished product, you could see that the frame it self wasn't flush. Each of the joints had gaps where you could see the putty, the putty had also been smeared on the frame, halfway cleaned off, and allowed to dry on frame. It was the worst craftsmanship I have ever seen. They said they could order a new frame but it would take another 2 weeks..... I declined since it was apparent that "America's #1 Framer" was not going to be able to produce a passable product. I demanded a refund and will be taking my art to get framed elsewhere from now on. Don't be fooled by their coupons offering large discounts, you're still paying more for a sub par product. read more

This store is really small but they just rearranged the whole store. The lines can be really long and it can be a headache to get in and out of the main parking lot. If your looking for basic craft supplies then it serves it's purpose. read more
