Recently, because he has stopped eating and has been struggling, I asked for a refill of the same two medications THEY previously prescribed him to help with nausea and appetite. I recently lost my job and simply do not have extra money for inflated office visit fees. I went there in person, hoping someone might show even a little compassion for the situation. Instead, there was none. No empathy, no concern, no attempt to help problem-solve -- just "it's been almost a year since we've seen him, so he needs another office visit." To be clear: it has NOT even been a year. Not years. Not multiple missed appointments. Less than a year. I explained that he had just had emergency labs done at urgent care a couple weeks ago, that those labs had been requested to be sent to them, and that they were very similar to the labs THEY themselves previously took when diagnosing him. I explained that he is very sick, stressed easily, and forcing him into a car and putting him through another unnecessary exam could honestly do more harm than good at this stage. I explained that I had just spent all the money I had on his emergency care and was simply asking for a one-time refill of medications they already knew he needed. The woman I spoke with initially acted sympathetic and said she would ask if the doctor might make a one-time exception given the circumstances. Then they called me back. First, they mispronounced my name. Then they said, "Oh, they can't prescribe something they've never prescribed before." I had to explain that yes, they absolutely HAD prescribed it before -- that's why I was requesting a REFILL. Then suddenly it became, "Oh yes, I see that now... well, since it's been almost a year, they're not going to do that." That was it. No compassion. No alternatives. No "maybe try this." No "we're sorry your cat is suffering." Nothing. Just another demand for money. Even human doctors will often refill medications if it has been less than a year, especially for chronic conditions. But apparently when it comes to a dying animal, there is no room for grace, empathy, or humanity unless another office fee is attached to it. What hurts the most is realizing that while I was sitting there terrified of losing my fur child, emotional, financially struggling, and begging for help to keep him comfortable, the only thing that seemed to matter to them was collecting another $100 office visit. I posted about my experience on Facebook afterward, and sadly, multiple people commented saying they had experienced the same thing from this facility -- that it felt more about money than genuine care or compassion for animals and the families who love them. People are already hurting enough when their pets are sick. The last thing they need is to feel dismissed, unheard, and financially cornered while trying to help an animal they love like family.

Given her age and history of a collapsed trachea, I was extremely concerned and called to ask if she could be seen sooner than her scheduled 3:30 PM appointment. I was told to bring her in immediately as an emergency and was given instructions to park in the back so they could bring her in separately. We arrived at 12:37 PM. A staff member came out, reviewed videos of her breathing, and asked me to send them to the office. Shortly after, I was told they wanted to begin with X-rays, which I agreed to. My dog was taken inside around 12:50 PM. From that point on, communication was extremely poor. By 1:54 PM, after hearing nothing, I reached out for an update. At 2:02 PM, I was told the technician had gone to lunch and that I would hear something in about 30 minutes. The only information provided was that my dog was "stable in a crate." No explanation of her condition, no reassurance beyond that. At 2:25 PM, I was finally told her X-rays were clear and that we were waiting for a room. I requested my dog be brought back to me while we waited, which they did. At 3:03 PM, I called again for a status update and was then told that since her original appointment time was 3:30 PM, we would have to wait until then to see the doctor--even though I had been told to come in early for an emergency visit. This was the first time anyone clearly explained that she was not being treated as an emergency. Had this been communicated earlier, I would have gladly paid for the X-rays and returned at the scheduled time. Instead, I sat in the parking lot for over 2.5 hours with little to no information about my senior dog's condition. We were not called back until 3:50 PM. To be fair, the veterinarian, Diana Heath, was thorough when reviewing the X-rays, which I appreciated. However, when I expressed concerns about the lack of communication and how stressful the situation had been, the response felt dismissive and lacked empathy. The issue here was not the wait--it was the complete lack of communication and transparency during a very stressful situation. When a pet owner hands over a senior dog in respiratory distress, basic updates and reassurance should be the standard. Based on this experience, I will not be returning and will be seeking care elsewhere.

My family had been seeing this vet for thirty years, give or take, but on this day it wasn't Doc Steadman - it was another doctor. Moore? Morris? I don't remember and I don't care. This doctor watched my wonderful dog collapsing, struggling to breathe, being unable to walk and had the audacity to tell me it was BONE SPURS. I brought up these issues again and again and again, while my dog was collapsing in front of him. Nothing. I had even CALLED AHEAD to make sure THEY were the ones who could help us - they told us to bring him in - but still Nothing. I could have brought my boy to another vet had they told us they didn't have time, or that this doctor simply didn't feel like dealing with it. He insisted it was "old age and bone spurs" no matter what I said, and I completely lost the opportunity to ease my dog's suffering. I'd have been completely on board with euthanasia if that were even an option with this man, just to ease my boy's asphyxia and pain. He was denied the most basic care and the trauma of him suffocating to death in my lap will always be there. Thanks for all you've done Steadman, but I will never be back as long as the other doctor is there.

Also on check out I was the only one which again was nice not having other pets around as I checked out. Very well done, can't say they are the cheapest but good isn't cheap and cheap isn't always good!

    I had been using the mobile vet service for Lexi's shots, etc - for the most part. But awhile back…read morewhen Lexi was sick, I ended up at the emergency vet that is open 24/7. So, I decided to have her established at Cordova Animal Medical Center. I had done a lot of research on Yelp which lead me to make an appointment. From the very beginning, I was extremely impressed with them. I signed up online & chose my date/time for Lexi to be seen - how cool is that?! Becca then contacted me to confirm my appointment & also to bring her history of her vaccines, etc. When they asked me about allergies - I stated she is allergic to duck. The way their grounds are when you pull up; it's just beautiful. I noticed that they even have a designated curbside service for your pet! I'm thinking that may be for potential surgeries, etc. I have anxiety issue. So when I brought Lexi out of my car - she decided to have the poopies & it decided to stick to her butt. I was so mortified when I came in w/her which is when I met Becca. Oh my gosh - she was super sweet & very professional and made me not feel like an idiot when I brought Lexi in w/her smelly butt. She gave me many soft paper towels, etc to clean her bottom. Before I forget - they also cleaned Lexi's bottom better than I had! They did not charge me for that, either. But (this is funny) on the drive home - I always talk with Lexi in her carrier. I kept smelling the poopies on the drive home. When I looked down at my jeans, it was all over them! When we met Dr Brooke Mowdy - she was so friendly & very, very knowledgeable. I will come back here to obtain the other staffs names & also some photos! Lexi loved every single person that she came into contact with. Dr Mowdy went through her complete medical history & gave her her updated shots & one was by mouth & as small as Lexi is (9 lbs), she fought them a little on that medication - that was funny! They also followed up w/me regarding Lexi the very next morning. This is why doing research on any business through Yelp is so important. If you think about it, people are so quick to complain but not so quick to compliment. That's where Yelp comes in. Our local businesses deserve to have 5 stars when they treat your pet to the extent that Cordova Animal Medical Center has. It was like a warm hug from beginning to end.

    Regarding the Spanish Trails Office Manager's reply to the new policy for rescue animals, I wanted…read moreto follow up. There seems to be an opportunity to strengthen the office manager's professional skills, particularly in navigating sensitive community relationships and communicating policy changes. Given that the new drop-off policy was implemented and shared with the rescue organization last October, why did staff continue scheduling vet appointments? There is a clear breakdown in communication if the office manager informed the rescue group but failed to notify staff and foster parents. The office manager's miscommunication, yet again, was frustrating, as we couldn't accommodate two separate visits on our busy schedule. Regarding our final appointment on March 20, 2026, we received a phone call at 9:35 AM--just 25 minutes prior--instructing us to drop off our dog to be 'worked in.' Despite your claims, I have records of numerous scheduled appointments since October, and we were never told to drop him off. To summarize my feedback: Neither I nor your staff, who scheduled my appointments, were informed of your October 2025 policy change until March 20, 2026. PS: We were very pleased with the clinical staff; however, our experience was marred by the unprofessional behavior of your office manager. *************** Comment from Ms. Office Manager: "We're sorry to hear that your experience felt frustrating, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify. Our drop off policies regarding rescue animals were communicated to the rescue in October, and we strive to apply these guidelines consistently to ensure fairness and efficiency for all our clients."

    Over the years, Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital has provided excellent care to our foster pups…read moreand Great Dane, especially under Dr. Day. However, there have been notable issues with office management, particularly regarding conflicts with the rescue organization. The differing accounts from both parties have created confusion. During a scheduled visit to the Spanish Trail office, I was informed I needed to leave one of our foster pups for the day, which was unexpected. The receptionist claimed this was requested by the rescue for diagnosis and approval (lie #1). My wife called the rescue while I was there and the rescue confirmed this was false. The rescue did not approve of leaving the pups, as it could cause them stress. I returned to the receptionist, explaining that the rescue had not requested this, and asked her to consult the doctor for clarification. She later informed me that Pam, the clinic manager, stated it was a mutual agreement between Spanish Trail and the rescue for the dog to stay for the day (lie#2). After leaving our foster dog there, a short time later the office manager spoke with the rescue president on the phone and informed her this was a new policy for Spanish Trail that all area rescues will need to leave their dogs for the day. So, in all actuality, this is lie #3 as the rescue never requested their dogs stay for the day, nor was it a mutual agreement between Spanish Trail and the rescue but it was Spanish Trails "new" policy. This wasn't communicated before scheduling, which we found unprofessional along with the actions of the office managers lack of honesty and integrity. Due to this unpleasant experience, we won't use or recommend their services. Like the adage goes, one bad apple spoils the whole bunch.

    We travel several months each year…read more Banfield has been helpful with an anxious 75 lb. Work in progress. Here's the thing... no one asks for an anxious dog, but if you have one and love one you are seeking understanding an acceptance. You look for advice an recognition of improvement. Banfield Pensacola initially a couple years ago were not supportive, or even hopeful. As I am an advocate for my dog, his physical challenges he has endured an over came, along with his anxiety we have been able to work together to communicate our needs and their compassion for us to have a successful visit and disturb other patients and customers as little as possible has been worked through. A few of the employees now, own or have experience with GSD. THAT WAS IMMENSELY HELPFUL. There is a young man at the front desk/ phone and he is professional, helpful an excellent listener. We visit in January... it has taken some time to write this review because of the stigma that comes with anxious, robust barking GSD. We appreciate the care, suggestions an extra effort you make for Gus.

    I am very displeased with these people at Banfield's Pet Hospital located at 6251 N. Davis Hwy,…read morePensacola, FL 32504. I brought my cockapoo dog in this week for an eye scratch from a cat. They did a stain test, confirmed that her left eye is scratched, gave me some antibiotic eye drops, and then charged me $182.36. My dog peed blood while leaving, so I took her back and they did a urine analysis test, saying she likely has a urinal tract infection. They prescribed sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim antibiotic liquid and charged me another $259.73. They charged me $147.77 for 4 ounces of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim liquid. But my dog refused to take the liquid. She won't let me put the syringe into her mouth. She refuses to eat yogurt or anything that I mix the liquid with. The vet suggested Fresh Pet and Farmer's Dog, which I spent $48 buying, but my cockapoo dog wouldn't touch any of it. Now they want another $98 (so that a vet tech, not even the doctor) can give her an antibiotic shot. Well why didn't they just do that in the first place, instead of wasting my time and money. I am on disability and don't have money to piss away because they don't know what they're doing. Why give a pet owner antibiotic liquid for their dog, especially for a cockapoo which breed are known to be picky eaters, that must be administered for 14 days, when they could have just given her one shot? They wasted $147.77 of my money! And from what I found checking around online, Banfield's Pet Hospital charged me the absolutely maximum cost they could for this medication. No mercy! I emailed one of the nurses yesterday about the problem. I mentioned that the only way I could get my cockapoo dog to take the antibiotics was mixing the medicine with a tablespoon of flavored yogurt. I asked if that was okay, and she relied: "Per Dr. Webb who is here today it is ok to give the antibiotics in yogurt." But that didn't work today, the dog is fussy. So, I emailed the same nurse back this morning asking what to do. A long eight hours later a different nurse replied and said this: "Dr. Siergiejczyk, who is our doctor today, stated that she would avoid giving Pickles flavored yogurt and the welches fruit snacks, as those can lead to her having gastrointestinal upset or even pancreatitis." Kindly said, they need to get on the same page. Nobody warned me yesterday about flavored yogurt. I also feel like they really take advantage of pet owners financially! They caused me to take a needless loss of $147.66 because no one bothered to tell me that I could have just paid for one antibiotic shot for my dog instead. They don't seem to know what they're doing at Banfield's Pet Hospital. They're not the ones taking the financial loss, I am! Money is too hard to come by to just be pissing it away trying different things. Dr. Webb asked me if I wanted pills or liquid. How should I know? He never mentioned any option about a shot, which would have been my immediate choice. And it's cheaper. I'm just frustrated by all this wasted time and money. It may not seem like a lot of money to them, but for a guy living on disability it sure is.
