Four stars for the service because the staff were really friendly but three for everything else. I guess I have never been inside a Joe & The Juice before even though I've definitely bought from them at the airport. Located in the middle of Mount Vernon it's a big space. My juice that I got was close to $15, which was kind of insane if not at an airport, but I needed a place to work before an event I had near the area. They are pretty strict about the bathroom usage here I really had to pee and they made me buy some even though I was already going to buy something before I even went to the restroom. Definitely not a destination, but if you need somewhere to work, this is a decent spot - I was there close to closing, and it did smell like burnt coffee, FYI.

Saw these all over NYC, but ended up trying it in DC. Got the matcha latte and boy it screams MATCHA! I usually order drinks half sweet, but I decided to drink it the way it came. I was surprised by how unsweet it was and almost asked for sweetener. However, I decided to drink the rest as is and I'm glad I did because it felt healthier in the end. Under $6 for a grande size is pretty reasonable. The interior at this location was spacious and had aesthetically pleasing chairs and sofas. I want to return and try some of their smoothies when I am actually hungry.

The shake wasn't good, but also was not bad. This may be because there is no added sugar which would be a good thing. The server messed up my order then got upset . The ambiance is pretty relaxed and great for conversation. There will be music playing in the background. Definitely not worth the money 15$

Oh my!! I really had no expectations upon visiting Joe and The Juice. I was in the area and someone suggested I check them out, I am sooo glad I did. The spicy tuna sandwich was delicious!! The toasted bread was soooo good. I also ordered the Herb Tonic drink and the carrot cake. The drink was refreshing and the darn carrot cake just melted in my mouth!!! Whew goodness, I can't wait to go back. The atmosphere is cute and relaxing. The servers were nice but easily got confused. They bounced back okay. Listen to me when I say this, ready?!? Fight the traffic, have patience with parking and GO!! You will not be disappointed AT ALL.

    Acai Bowl 3.2

The only thing I can really comment on is the acai bowl so far since that's the only item I ordered. It was way more nutty than I thought it was going to be, so if you enjoy nuts & acai, I would definitely recommend their acai bowl! It also had raisins in it. Overall, not bad but a bit pricey (~$13 for the bowl). Staff was friendly and nice! Thanks.

I took a quick trip to this shop actually by accident while looking for another store. I'm glad I came! It was quiet and that could be because I came during the middle of the day. I tried the Stress Down juice and was shocked that it was made in a blender with ice. It wasn't thick like a smoothie, so I guess it is still a juice. It was not strained. I enjoyed it though, but I could've used a warning because it was a little frothy. The carrot cake is amazing! So much flavor and moisture packed into such a little cake! The frosting is great!! The service was ok. They didn't talk much or explain much. I was hoping to be a little introduced to the store seeing as though I've never been here before. I did get a drink recommendation once I asked about drinks with ginger. The juice is made fresh which is always a plus! I'd come back!

The food was excellent, as always! So fresh, neatly made, and affordable. It's what keeps me coming back. The only critique is that the staff is super small, so orders take a while to make (15 mins for my juice and sandwich)

Iced espresso + small rebuild shake

I was very pleasantly surprised with this place! I thought this would be just like Jamba Juice or Blenders, for my SoCal friends, where you just pop in, get a super large sugary drink, there's little to no place to sit so you just leave. Maybe some locations are like that, but not this Joe and the Juice. It was so clean, spacious, had outlets, nice bathrooms, good music and orders came out quickly. I got an espresso over ice which came in the most adorable little cup ever and was very tasty. I also got a small Rebuild protein shake which had avocado and chocolate protein. It was a very generous size Small, delicious plant protein with great consistency and I was full for hours after enjoying both. The wifi was strong and the environment made for a great remote work hub. I would recommend for students, as well, as it's very affordable and there's room for groups to meet for study sessions. They serve juices, smoothies, protein shakes, coffee and latte variations, wellness shots, omelettes, acai bowls, toasts and a variety of paninis. Pretty much anywhere in DC, especially the Chinatown area, I would park in a garage for the day and walk. These streets are not parking friendly but everything is relatively in walking distance. While this isn't a "must see while in DC" I would recommend if you're in the area and need a place to work/study or grab a quick healthy juice or shake.

I had an iced latte and it was awesome. Strong and tasty. I spent two hours here enjoying my coffee as I worked on my computer. The service was great. They offer free wifi, app ordering, seating area inside and outside. Wow the smell of sandwich in here is sooooo good I need to go back to try it!!!

Parillada was a hearty entree and probably best for 2-3 people. This amount of food altogether was just nice. We probably could have ordered one more thing to be extra full. The ivy wrapping the entire exterior of the building is stunning -- it feels like the cafe grew right out of the earth itself. The garden is lush, intentional, and beautiful, and the grapevine patio pulls you in like you've stumbled onto a secret courtyard in the middle of the city. I rode the metro over an hour from Alexandria for this and the exterior alone told me the commute was worth it. The iced coffee delivered. The vibe inside is warm, neighborhood-cozy, and full of character. This place has a soul that most coffee shops spend years trying to manufacture. Four stars instead of five -- and here's my honest feedback with love. The outdoor seating is gorgeous but the trees overhead drop baby spiders constantly. I watched them land on my table, my drink, and my arm more times than I could count. The birds hopping onto tables scavenging for crumbs added to the chaos. For a patio this beautiful, the experience deserves better. The fix is already in the DNA of this place. Weaving lavender, peppermint, chrysanthemums, citronella grass, marigolds, and rosemary throughout the patio would naturally deter spiders and mosquitoes while making the garden even more breathtaking. The fragrance would become part of the experience. Big Bear Cafe is already special. The ivy, the garden, the coffee, the community energy -- it all works. A few intentional additions to the patio and this place is untouchable. I will absolutely be back.

I got their golden latte, which includes turmeric, almond milk, and a few other spices; it feels warm (both literally and figuratively) and is a lovely caffeine-free drink that helps me feel healthy as the weather gets colder. As someone who works in the industry and is very familiar with coffee and coffee shops, I was genuinely shocked by how rude and unprofessional the staff was. I ordered a house latte with an extra double shot, which made it a quad shot, and I also paid for extra ice and requested that it be served in a large cup. It wasn't a complicated order. When I saw a drink come up, I politely asked, "Is that mine by any chance?" The barista immediately told me to "hush" and said, "I'm not talking to you." I found that incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. When my drink was finally handed to me, I simply asked if the quad shot had been added since I had paid extra for it. Instead of answering my question, the barista ignored me entirely, and another employee had to respond. The employee, Taleisha Young, who was wearing glasses, was especially rude throughout the interaction. No customer should be spoken to that way, especially when they're simply asking about an order they paid extra to customize. Customer service and professionalism should be a priority, and this experience fell far below that standard. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience on other review platforms as well. I hope management addresses the behavior of its staff so other customers don't have a similar experience.
