Four stars for the service because the staff were really friendly but three for everything else. I guess I have never been inside a Joe & The Juice before even though I've definitely bought from them at the airport. Located in the middle of Mount Vernon it's a big space. My juice that I got was close to $15, which was kind of insane if not at an airport, but I needed a place to work before an event I had near the area. They are pretty strict about the bathroom usage here I really had to pee and they made me buy some even though I was already going to buy something before I even went to the restroom. Definitely not a destination, but if you need somewhere to work, this is a decent spot - I was there close to closing, and it did smell like burnt coffee, FYI.

Saw these all over NYC, but ended up trying it in DC. Got the matcha latte and boy it screams MATCHA! I usually order drinks half sweet, but I decided to drink it the way it came. I was surprised by how unsweet it was and almost asked for sweetener. However, I decided to drink the rest as is and I'm glad I did because it felt healthier in the end. Under $6 for a grande size is pretty reasonable. The interior at this location was spacious and had aesthetically pleasing chairs and sofas. I want to return and try some of their smoothies when I am actually hungry.

The shake wasn't good, but also was not bad. This may be because there is no added sugar which would be a good thing. The server messed up my order then got upset . The ambiance is pretty relaxed and great for conversation. There will be music playing in the background. Definitely not worth the money 15$

Oh my!! I really had no expectations upon visiting Joe and The Juice. I was in the area and someone suggested I check them out, I am sooo glad I did. The spicy tuna sandwich was delicious!! The toasted bread was soooo good. I also ordered the Herb Tonic drink and the carrot cake. The drink was refreshing and the darn carrot cake just melted in my mouth!!! Whew goodness, I can't wait to go back. The atmosphere is cute and relaxing. The servers were nice but easily got confused. They bounced back okay. Listen to me when I say this, ready?!? Fight the traffic, have patience with parking and GO!! You will not be disappointed AT ALL.

    Acai Bowl 3.2

The only thing I can really comment on is the acai bowl so far since that's the only item I ordered. It was way more nutty than I thought it was going to be, so if you enjoy nuts & acai, I would definitely recommend their acai bowl! It also had raisins in it. Overall, not bad but a bit pricey (~$13 for the bowl). Staff was friendly and nice! Thanks.

I took a quick trip to this shop actually by accident while looking for another store. I'm glad I came! It was quiet and that could be because I came during the middle of the day. I tried the Stress Down juice and was shocked that it was made in a blender with ice. It wasn't thick like a smoothie, so I guess it is still a juice. It was not strained. I enjoyed it though, but I could've used a warning because it was a little frothy. The carrot cake is amazing! So much flavor and moisture packed into such a little cake! The frosting is great!! The service was ok. They didn't talk much or explain much. I was hoping to be a little introduced to the store seeing as though I've never been here before. I did get a drink recommendation once I asked about drinks with ginger. The juice is made fresh which is always a plus! I'd come back!

The food was excellent, as always! So fresh, neatly made, and affordable. It's what keeps me coming back. The only critique is that the staff is super small, so orders take a while to make (15 mins for my juice and sandwich)

Iced espresso + small rebuild shake

I was very pleasantly surprised with this place! I thought this would be just like Jamba Juice or Blenders, for my SoCal friends, where you just pop in, get a super large sugary drink, there's little to no place to sit so you just leave. Maybe some locations are like that, but not this Joe and the Juice. It was so clean, spacious, had outlets, nice bathrooms, good music and orders came out quickly. I got an espresso over ice which came in the most adorable little cup ever and was very tasty. I also got a small Rebuild protein shake which had avocado and chocolate protein. It was a very generous size Small, delicious plant protein with great consistency and I was full for hours after enjoying both. The wifi was strong and the environment made for a great remote work hub. I would recommend for students, as well, as it's very affordable and there's room for groups to meet for study sessions. They serve juices, smoothies, protein shakes, coffee and latte variations, wellness shots, omelettes, acai bowls, toasts and a variety of paninis. Pretty much anywhere in DC, especially the Chinatown area, I would park in a garage for the day and walk. These streets are not parking friendly but everything is relatively in walking distance. While this isn't a "must see while in DC" I would recommend if you're in the area and need a place to work/study or grab a quick healthy juice or shake.

I had an iced latte and it was awesome. Strong and tasty. I spent two hours here enjoying my coffee as I worked on my computer. The service was great. They offer free wifi, app ordering, seating area inside and outside. Wow the smell of sandwich in here is sooooo good I need to go back to try it!!!

Birthday cake for breakfast? Say less!…read more I've been dying to try South Block's seasonal Birthday Cake Smoothie because I'm a sucker for anything birthday cake flavored. With this week's heat wave, Thursday felt like the perfect excuse to finally treat myself. The Birthday Cake Smoothie is made with almond milk, banana, vanilla, granola, maple syrup, plant protein, and topped with a dollop of blue CocoWhip, a cherry twist, and sprinkles. I swapped the plant protein for whey protein, and it absolutely hit the spot. It was creamy, refreshing, and definitely gave me the birthday cake vibes I was hoping for without being overly sweet. I ordered ahead through the app, and my smoothie was ready right on time. I also appreciated their pickup setup. Completed orders are placed in a freezer at the counter, so you can simply grab your drink and keep it moving. Quick, easy, and perfect for busy mornings. One thing I love about this location is being inside Union Market. There are plenty of places to sit if you want to enjoy your smoothie or bowl. Now, if you've ever been to Union Market on a weekend or evening, you already know finding a seat can feel like a competitive sport. But in the mornings, it's much calmer with far less foot traffic, making it a great time to visit. Price-wise, it's about the same as the South Block near my office in Arlington. Is it expensive? Sure. But honestly, that's just the reality of smoothie and açaí bowl spots these days. At least here, the quality, convenience, and fresh ingredients make it feel worth the splurge every once in a while. I'll definitely be back... especially if they bring this Birthday Cake Smoothie around again.

We had such a great time enjoying it on the picnic tables outside. My only complaint was the acai bowl's were so good, our conversation was practically non-existent... we mostly just ate. They were filling, delicious, and broke my brain as to why I had gone this far in life without making this treat a regular in my pursuit of constantly enjoying the most toothsome dishes to be had. I need to go back. Soon.

We hoped to find a place that offered decaf coffee since it was late in the day, but really wanted something warm since it was a bit chilly outside. Unfortunately, this location of Toastique does not offer decaf - they only have a single hopper for their coffee, so it is not an offering. We were going to find another place, however, they said how about a hot chocolate or a tea. My friend is vegan and inquired if their hot cocoa was vegan, as most places have dairy in the chocolate. The cashier went to look at the chocolate syrup and also had another person look at it to verify it's vegan. My friend ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk.
