I only see women professionals in all capacities of life, and to have a male nurse perform vitals on me was unacceptable even after raising objections. To tell me the female office manager i was talking with couldnt do it, any of the female office staff to come over and be an intern for 5 minutes, or a reasonable request of even Melissa McNeil to do them or the female nurse i saw in the lobby was too much of an overreach ask. Female nurses will always be in high demand as this is their calling card. Im going to be 40 years old and i think i know what im comfortable with especially when it comes to health care. I didnt need be reminded of something i already knew with a male touching me with their bad breathe. I understand this practice is under an umbrella of a male doctor whose motives must be questioned when seeing male patients and was maybe even trying to make inroads in seeing me too. Albeit this was one experience and shouldnt let it overshadow a span of care and a state of an art facility, but apparently it was enough for them to discontinue me as a patient. When I asked why, I was only told that the doctor "didn't feel comfortable" seeing me, and no further explanation was provided. After waiting weeks, I found the lack of communication and the inability to schedule an appointment very frustrating and disappointing. I was also disappointed with how the receptionist handled the conversation. I found her to be dismissive and unwilling to provide any additional information or guidance. At the very least, I expected clearer communication or a referral to another specialist if Dr. Fernandez wasn't the right fit for my case.

The office person showed that the waiting room was empty and said there was no one to put ahead of me. She asked me if I wanted to reschedule since I was a no show, even though I was there. I said okay. She then informed me that if I wanted to reschedule I would need to pay a 100 dollar no show fee. So I have no idea what type of doctor Dr. Fernandez is, but I can tell you her office people are not kind, understanding, or flexible.

It's been 2 weeks and I do feel a bit better. Haven't had extreme pain shooting down my legs. Didn't want to keep getting cortisone injections because they destroy the bones. I'm very happy so far. Would definitely recommend Dr. Flanagan. He is the real deal.
