This is HEB's little bro. PROS: --- I like this place for their produce! I tend to eat very healthy at home and when I'm not eating out I'm constantly going through produce and although some of their produce looks like it is ready to be thrown out; for the most part, they offer fresh produce! --- They even have an organic produce section! --- Shop around and you'll find deals on a lot of items. --- There's a lot of Mexican candy. --- There are several other "shops" inside that offer a variety of things the store doesn't. Like cellphones, aguas frescas (my fave, La Michoacana), and even a furniture shop. --- Huge parking lot. CONS: --- Check dates on everything, since this is a very inexpensive store, you're going to come across items that should have been thrown away last week. Sad to say, but true. I am a senior citizen, regular weekly cutomer at Baytown Garth Road store. Usually I use self check out. For the last few month I have been noticeing the Customer representaive ELDA ( A black Femal in her early thirtees) treating me very poorly. Yesterday I was trying to use my debit card. I was having trouble and rather than helping me she litterly yeld at me. It has happened at leat 3-4 time before. I have tears in my eyes. I stop and very nicely requested her to be little nice. Very rudely she said you want me to call my manager and so you can complain. I new the manager will protect her employee in front of me, so I told her I will go on line and complain. Exceptional Prices on Most Items. Limited selections. An HEB converted into a warehouse type grocery. There are package deals for meats for stocking your freezer. Standard fresh produce with some good buys and more limited selection. Roomy aisles. They are testing this concept in some areas. People can save a bit more money for more limited selection and less attention being paid to atmosphere and aesthetics. read more

I like shopping here. I go here for mostly produce, but there is a lot more. They also have a lot of good sales weekly.

The courtesy booth at Joe V's in Baytown is horrible!! The management staff at this store really needs to look into restructuring on how they delegate their responsibilities to the courtesy booth clerks. Not only did I have to wait a while to get (1) money order over the weekend; I also had to call inside the store from my cell phone to get a clerk to assist me at the booth. Then I get an attitude from the clerk. Really?? Mind you, this is an ongoing factor at this store. They need to bring HEB back!! read more

I don't go to the Baytown location anymore and I haven't in a couple of years. Several reason. People don't know how to park in the handicap spots . I parked the way the sign said and a lady fussed at me because I was ( in her opinion) parked wrong and said you need to move. I told the manager several times and nothing was ever done. Then another time I was in lane 14 and 16 was open. A employee named yasmin went to 15 but didn't turn on her light. I asked if she was opening she said no, I said ok. Then a customer walk to her line and she checked her out then another after the second lady yasmin left the lane. I was very mad and told the manager she said she would talk to her. I've never been back. I've seen food truck works who were in line in front of me buy a lot of grocery with the snap / gold card whatever it is called and I just had a few items and go straight to their food truck in the parking lot. I have friends who are barely making ends meet and some have kids and have trouble getting government help. One of my friends ate dry beans with rice for months. No onions, little seasoning and for sure no meat. Her whole family and friends had to help her in every way. And she had a terminal cancer. It took 4 years to finally get help and she received 40.00 a month. So no I will never go back no matter what and I tell everyone my stories. Disrespect is very poor customer service. read more
